Now we need the Gigantopithecus to fight the Short-faced Bear.
The bear would win. It is over twice the size of the ape.
@@dragonstormx nope
short face bear the smaller american version weighed over 2000 pounds twice the weight of the ape..
@@VoxTheUkrainianComradeYep, no place for primate ego in the wild dude
Gigantopithecus is a rare breed now and back then they were titans
This would be interesting since Orangutans, Chimps and Gorillas are known tool users. Would it be too far fetched for a Gigantopithicus to uproot a tree and club the bear to death or til it ran away?
I don't think it would be too far fetched at all for him to pick up a tree that had already uprooted or find a big ass branch! I'm wondering more how athletic this Gigantopithicus was though...I think that is the game changer. If he moves well then the bear, even with it's 5" long claws may be in trouble. Certianly a 500lb inland Grizzly is going to have trouble
I watched a video where monkeys that lived in tree hollows would be killed by chimpanzees that used sharpened branches to stab and pull out the monkeys. I assume that it is possible that Gigantopithecus could have made a spear in the same way.
Finally a legendary battle done by wild ciencias after a long time
Cuz Thanos escaped again
Grizzly destroy!!!
Faster, more stamina, strong jaws, claws and muscular body. The Giant Orangutan would get stomped.
Yea a bear is pretty much unstoppable
Someone with an actual brain.
@@Ntwadumela89hahahah no they aren't. They certainly are one of the most dangerous animals but not unstoppable. Especially if they go against a gigantic ape who is bigger and stronger than it is. If the bear threatened the Gigantopithecus family, the giant ape would tear the grizzly apart. Somehow I think a lot of people here think this is a battle between a gorilla and a grizzly. No it is a battle between something twice as big and strong as a gorilla and a grizzly. hahahah
@@abetterworld96Where, I want to see this person. So far, far to many don't have one nor any common sense. You, the other comment and the one who's comment we are responding to are perfect examples of that. This is not between a mountain gorilla and a grizzly. It is between something twice as big and strong as a gorilla and a grizzly. Something bigger and stronger and more intelligent than the grizzly.
@@t74guard78Bigger and stronger than a Grizzly??? 😂😂😂
There is no doubt that this primate was large, reaching 200-300 kg. but come on
the bear is simply too much of a challenge for the giant orangutan as it is stronger, more durable, possibly more aggressive, faster and combined with a strong body, strong bite and large claws I don't see how the gigatopithecus will win this fight.
No way the gigantopithicus only weighed 600 lbs being 12 feet tall. Gorillas weigh almost six hundred pounds
I thought the exact same thing, and the way they showed it it was that tall on all fours, if it was that big it would smash a grizzly.
@@robertdemon3550 most definitely. The Gigan was about 800 lbs and could lift over 4000 lbs. One hand it could break the grizzly face with a nice squeeze
@@BruceDragon-sf1tr "it could lift over 4000lbs because i said so" is a based take but it's not applicable in a fight
it's still too much bear for the ape
@@wermthewerm that Gigan could easily crush the Grizzly face. Its no way in hell that Grizzly could handle that kind of force applying to his face or throat.
Imagine someone like Mark Henry weighing at 900 lbs and has on a leather cover suit, I bet Mark could even kill that Grizzly bear then, but we talking a beast like man weighing at 800 lbs. A Beast would still be 5 times stronger than a 900 lbs Mark Henry..... let that sink in
@@BruceDragon-sf1trmark henry ain’t even touching a grizzly lmao and the gigan would have to try to grab a thrashing grizzly that could seriously injure the gigan with just a single good swip
I think the gigantopithecus vs the short faced bear would have been more appropriate considering the timeline..
I totally agree with you.
The Short Face Bear is way to big for Gigantopithecus to handle.
@@luisvelez1952 Same thought crossed my mind once or twice.
Still be an interesting match to see though.👍🏻
@@luisvelez1952exactly, true question should be- Grizzly vs Orangutan because that's the todays version of short faced bear vs gigantopithecus.
@@JA-ru3ilbut we know the answer immediately
Enjoy your shows. I must chime in. A robust male grizzly, such as in the lower 48, is about 800 lbs. Gigantopithicus model is estimated around 1100 lbs. Didn't have grizzly claws, yet greater bite force, with what must have been bone shattering clubbing action
I think the apes weight estimates are on the low end, should be around 2500lbs.
Size of Bear depends on their location. Grizzly are usually inland Bears, Brown are costal and larger, Kodiak are beasts and have their own islands!! Brown or Kodiak would have been a better comparison with Gigantopithecus.
I love how the Grizzly bear looks so cute but deadly in the picture
It would be difficult to decide. The primate was probably as strong, or stronger than a grizzly of the same weight. It could probably grasp and hold with its hands and feet, with enormous strength. The grizzly has the claws and teeth, and more body fat and thicker fur, for more protection. I wouldn't bet on either, but lean toward the grizzly, if the weights are the same.
ooo... the primate would be so much stronger giving the same weight. primate like human the structure is actually build strong. human are fragile compare to animals but our arm strength is actually build powerful. if we train to run long distance human could out run long distance than most animals - other animal would over heat and die if they push to their limits. chimps that is lighter than human have similar muscle structure but stronger muscle fiber etc. which is why they are so strong. grizzly bear somewhat similar but more close to dogs and cats. they are strong but primate are stronger this is why they dont have claws because their grip and pulling power is strong.
@@BlueRice Primates are not stronger than Bears, Canines, Cats etc.
If it is intelligent, it can use a big log or stone to smack the grizzly. Intelligence wins always. If you don't believe me, just go outside and see if you can see any mammoths, saber tooth tigers or even grizzlies. The more intelligent one determines the nature of the fight, in general.
@@BlueRice there is a document that scientist did. Humans were classified with jellyfish in physical ability strength and speed compared to other animals. We're Apex predators because of our brains. We invented tools to be equalizers. Like a Gorilla can lift 3,800-4,500lbs.

People tend to be unreasonable biased towards creatures that they know about more and love more, like grizzly bears, tigers, and t-Rex, but for an animal like the Gigantopithecus that almost no one has heard of, they will doubt its strength cause “tigers can beat everything”
I am a tiger lover and have spent a half a century reading and watching things about big cats and bears. I have a vast knowledge of them. Not sure what exactly you mean at the end there, "Tigers can beat everything." Are you being serious with that or no? In today's world, the Kodiak bear could defeat the tiger more times than not. Many scientist feel a large tiger could hold it's own against the polar and grizzly bears and Siberian tigers have been known to prey on the Russian Brown bear. Not always successful but more times than not the are. If this huge ape was still around, I don't see how a tiger could defeat it. A mountain silverback gorilla for sure. But not something as huge as the Gigantopithecus was.
I feel these battle scenarios with gigantopithecus is extremely unfair, we get a modern animal, full skeleton, knowledge of their muscle power, and their intelligences. Gigantopithecus is being estimated off modern relatives and size of bones and there are only mandibles and teeth! The Gigantopithecus could very well be that size, but pitting something we barely even know anything about doesn't even seem like a battle. Also there is believed to be more species of Pithecus, and so the current species Blacki is believed to be largest. How does that make sense when you have bones of one variation, and are still estimating size, blacki could be the smallest for all we know
Nah. Just like bear species. Kodiak is the largest. Just like in the gigantopithecus species. Blacki is the largest. If anything we can all at least admit that the bear will definitely have a hard time beating an ape that’s the same size.@@TheHoglord

People just generally call brown bears grizzlies
Yeah every clip he showed was of a Kodiak or other costal brown bear. Even the weight he displayed, up to 1500lbs is a kodiak brown bear stat, he is just calling all brown bear grizzlies.
@@chalkandcheese1868 , Grizzlies are a subspecies of Brown bear, just like the Kodiak. Yes, they are all basically Brown Bears, but different environments and diets over thousands of years, cause slight differences in size, appearance and sometimes, behavior. In Europe and Asia, they are just, Brown Bears. In the U.S. and Canada, Grizzlies. The Kodiak is peculiar to Kodiak Island, and is the largest subspecies.
Kodiaks are larger, but they are isolated to Kodiak island and their diet is mostly salmon that are rich in fat. Grizzlies are more aggressive, because they actively hunt large, dangerous game such as Moose and Elk. They also tend to defeat larger Polar bears in single combat, where their habitats overlap. That is why they are the go to, when talking about the most dangerous bear.

I always love your show, BUT.... I don't get this one!!! The bite force of a full grown Silver back gorilla is 1300 psi. The grizzly is ONLY 1200 psi in the opinion of MOST biologists. That makes no sense!!
and exactly where would the giganto be able to deliver a fatal bite?
Lions are bigger then jaguars but jaguars have harder bite force
Remember that Gigantopithecus are thought to be more closely related to orangutans than gorillas.

Plus, Grizzlies are superior fighters, they can take a whole pack of alpha wolves alone, even their polar and black bear cousins run from them. They are the toughest and meanest freaking bear! The Grizzly Bear Will definitely Win because of their size, strength, and powerful claws can easily kill the the Apes.
Not this ape though . gorillas are half the size of a grizzly yet pound per pound they are stronger. With a stronger biteforce too Giganthepithecus is larger than a grizzly and would be way to strong for a grizzly to overwhelm and a much stronger bite. Apes are also tool users I don't see a grizzly wining this one it's outclassed. A more appropriate option for Giganto is a short faced bear
😂😂😂
I find it funny how people think grizzlies can't lose
considering that an Gorilla has an bite force (or can have) of 1400PSI i would easily give the biteforceround and therefore the overall victory to the Gigantopthecus since it is even bigger than a gorilla.
Gorillas also almost only eat plants and dont really need to be able to bite that strong but, hey! Its nature, nothing makes sense if you go to deep or deep enough in it
There’s so much we don’t know about gigantopithecus that it’s hard to compare. But if it needed to compete against other megafauna then it might be well suited to stand up to a grizzly bear.

I don't know. undecided. Grizzly Bear would probably wins.
Ridiculous, a modern gorilla has a bite force of 1300 psi so Gigantopithecus would have to be minimum 2000- 2500 while a grizzly bite force is 875-1000 psi.
The bigfoot vs brown bear
Godzilla vs Grizzly next
Sorry, but it's kinda ridiculous to assume that Giganto would only weigh up to 600 lbs if grew to 12 ft in height. If humans could grow to be that tall, I would wager that even they would weigh more than that on average. But we are talking about a 12 ft GORILLA here which would likely have carry considerably more mass than a human would. I can't envision a fully grown male Giganto weighing any less than 900 lbs.
Unless a grizzly tasted gigantopithicas before the bear would back down after they stood up. A bear is similar to a canine in body mechanics except they instinctual know jujitsu and are experts in the clinch. A similar fight would be a Grey wolf versus a same weight man. Thickness of hide and fur, limb tearing strength, and large canines would give the ape an advantage, but grizzly jujitsu, and predator instict would give the bear the winning edge.
Since we only have a few bones of the Gigantopithecus it is impossible to tell. If it's the equivalent of a 1200 pound chimpanzee, it would be a really bad animal.

The grizzly bear would lose. Harry would knock a home run hit. If the grizzly bear survived, it's next three generations would be dizzy.
Grizzly, teeth and claws win the day. Though it would be a terrible but awesome fight.
No one ever accounts how dense a creature is. For example:Humans are 70% water give or take as opposed to a alligator which is 90 something percent muscle. The same factors apply to these creatures but this is a bad face off because the giant ape is all theories so far.
As nothing is known about extinct blacky, if he is standing 12 feet tall and weighing 400+ kg having strength and speed proportional to Gorilla then Blacky could have made grizzly to run for his life with one big fist or slap. Even by holding Grizzly's paws. With his powerful grip could have forced the grizzly to disengage and withdraw. This is speculation only.
Bite force would go to Giganto. Gorilla's have about 1300 lbs. So Giganto would bite close to 1800. Bears are actually smart as apes and horses or wolf's.
There is a lot of difference between bite force and bite effectiveness
Walrus bite effectiveness is 1500 to 1800 psi it doesn't means walrus bites, the attack of walrus's tusk is 1600 psi
Like that Gorillas bite effectiveness is 1300 psi not bite force
I always thought the gigantopithecus would be extremely strong since it's an ape, and one multiple times bigger than a gorilla.
Bears just have better weaponry and can take a lot of damage. They won't run from anything. So the size of the Giganto wouldn't matter to the Grizzley. Aside from its strength, the only way it would win is by besting the grizzled to death with thick branches and its fists. Meanwhile, the grizzled will claw at its vitals and bite at its neck. I believe massive Gigantos may take some small grizzled out. But the majority would go to the Grizzley.
