Question for Rob. What is the biggest takeaway from the Dricus fight and what have you been improving on since then? I saw an interview with Dricus where he mentioned that he knew before the fight that you focus more on the head and legs. Is that perhaps an area you are working on? Targeting the body more? Would love to hear your thoughts. You are one of my favorite fighters by the way! Looking forward to your next fight! Don't take the belt from my fellow South African (Dricus) just yet!

for me the mindblowing thing about Tsarukyan and Topuria is that they haven't even hit their prime yet
we're reaching an era that there are fighters who are nearly Elite before hitting their prime
But also the bar for what is considered elite in MMA has kept rising since it began. It's hard to imagine what an MMA fight will look like in 25 years if the bar keeps rising
Some people hit their prime in their 20s. Jon jones imo
@@mokodo_ there won't be more people getting into MMA especially given the high standard of commitment it would require. That money wouldn't be worth the time, effort and negative health effects. We will see new faces once in a while unlike the boom we see today.

Dariush always had bad striking defense, particularly, and before the Oliveira fight I thought he's fixed it to a degree considering he wants a titleshot but its obviously still bad, even Oliveira's defense isn't this bad, there's something with their team, him, Gastelum and Vettori, they hit their limit and prove they're not championship level.
Ya, couldn't believe people were picking him over Oliveira.
Are fighters normally in a camp without a fight announced or does this mean rob has a confirmed matchup for quarter 1 2024

I don't see the issue with an interim champ defending his belt. If he can't defend it why even give him a belt to begin with? Just call it a contendership or something then. The point of an interim champ shouldn't be to immediately fight the inactive champ, it should be to let the division move on in the champ's absence including taking on challengers.

Robert Whittaker is one of the only fighters with a named signature move - the BK (Bobby Knuckles) Combo, 1-2-headkick. everyone knows it’s coming and he still catches them
Such a clean combo, I love to see it!
Dominick Cruz should fight Figgy. Yeah Figgy is ranked higher but Dom thinks he still got it and it's fun to see him get humbled.
Who knows maybe Dom will get his revenge on Henry Cejudo by beating his protégé

Beniels biggest names are gamrot and Ferguson. I don't think either of them are anywhere the top of the pile it's a huge jump. And as we've seen from beneil vs oliveira beneil isn't on that level either so don't do the same thing to sarukyan. Wait till he fights one of those guys. Which is hard because you have guys like poirier and chandler who aren't fighting anyone and want the big fight. It's holding up the whole division

I personally hate when people bring up the resume thing. Ufc chooses who to match against. You can say no, sure. But Jon is wrong is my opinion and I'm a huge Jones fan. Who's aspinal supposed to fight that's a legend? You can't hold up someone else's ambitions because you think they don't deserve it
