Wow I remember this game vividly. Both absolute NFC powerhouses with fantastic rushing attacks.
What's hilarious is there was so much hype about this, and both teams ended up getting destroyed in their opening playoff game lol
Yup - Delhomme throws 5 picks against the Cardinals on his 35th birthday. Meanwhile, Eli throws 3 picks against the Eagles.

@@akabancopopgiants offense couldn’t do anything in the 2 home games vs Philly. They had our # that year. The Giants ran out of gas at the end of the year. Having no Osi hurt and the Plax incident caught up to them. They should’ve lost this game, they would’ve played Arizona in a snowstorm instead of Philly.
Giants being home for the playoffs wasn’t a good thing. The Giants did all their damage on the road during their 2 SB runs 07 11. They did get one home playoff game win in 2011 vs Falcons.

This o-line should be considered one of the best ever. They had 2 1,000 yard backs with an undrafted guy like Ward and a 5th round pick in BJ. This line was better than what the Eagles have now
The game was originally scheduled in Week 16 between the Chargers-Buccaneers game flexed to Panthers-Giants which means the Battle for Number 1 seed in NFC the winner will play for the Home-Field Advantage.

We haven't played a game that matters in years, these days I barely even watch.. and when I do I usually fall asleep. Can't be dissapointed or on the edge of your seat when you 100% expect to lose every single week.

I remember watching this game. Thought the Panthers would win this going away, thanks to DeAngelo Williams’ performance. Then the Giants had a big fourth quarter to tie the game, but the Panthers still had a chance to win it in regulation. But when John Kasay’s field goal fell short, I should have known that the Panthers would not come out on top. Sure enough, in overtime, the Giants got the ball and marched down the field for the winning score, leaving me disappointed and in tears.

I remembered this game so well when two rushing attacks face each other. Brandon Jacobs carried the ball 24 times for 87 yards and 3 touchdowns, so his longest run was a 16-yard touchdown. As far as the other back, Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams carried the ball 24 times for 108 yards and 4 touchdowns, so his longest run was a 30-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. We watched both running backs have standout performances. The Giants didn’t live up to their #1 seed when they lost to the Eagles in the divisional round of the playoffs. It was a disappointing end to a promising season for the Giants.

I believe the majority of those wins for the Giants came when he was in the lineup. Once he went down, there goes the Super Bowl

The Giants certainly lived up to expectations securing the #1 seed in the NFC playoffs, but they didn’t live up to that in their playoff bout against Philadelphia in Mid-January
I think if plax doesn’t shoot himself giants go all the way I feel they were way better then the team that won it all the year before

He was the reason the giants were bad all those yrs. They was good in the playoffs because they had blitzers DBs and 3 running backs. He threw 14 the next season, then 25 & 16 all in a row all while throwing 50% every single season. Hes a joke and 244 ints is horrible. Matter fact, after throwing 10 ints in 2008 he followed it up with 14, 25, 15, 16, 15, 27 , 14, 14, 16, 13 and was benched before he could go over 11 his last season. What a bum & if his name was anything other than manning he would’ve been sent to the bench after yr 3.
