Fantastic this is the only version of this i can find online, so huge thanks, can't believe i sold my 12" copy way back when at a record fair, and you wouldn't believe the crap i've got left, what a tune.
thanks! this was not forgotten since those days in the early-mid 80s when I used to hear great tunes on the radio and write the artists name on a piece of paper which always went in some corner of my room or bottom of my bag. This song was one of them. So thanks!
oh wow, I'd forgotten this song- it was on a radio 1 session once- I taped it and loved it. I used to have their first album which I loved, but have long since lost :-( david
I fell in love with a girl called Jenny to this, then she ran off with a lorry driver...Ah me...the [pain...I had forgotten all about her, but this song brings her back x
This group are interesting, nothing like i thought they'd be from the name! I was expecting The Wurzels! I'm an eighties kid though this was a bit too early for me to know. You say 12"s weren't charting, what about Blue Monday and Two Tribes?
alas ucfbtm all my cassettes are gone... boo hoo... so I have none of their stuff. the version of Apparently I had is not this one, but a shorter, punchier version.

Great stuff mate, thanks for uploading this.
This and Poor Old Soul were my my pre pub songs.
I've got both albums & a few singles. Still think this was my favourite track .
This was their finest, with the exception of "Whatever...".
