Personally I do not ship Kaeluc but there is a lot of misconception about whether it is incest or not. As a Chinese person, I can confirm it is not. The only morally wrong thing about this ship is if shippers choose to make it morally wrong by thinking they’re blood related brothers or step/adopted siblings.
They are “sworn brothers”
Sworn brothers are not brothers. They are far from it. The term comes from Chinese 拜兄弟) and the English translation isn’t even close to giving the same meaning as the original. A sworn brother is essentially family. Family are people you cherish, they can be cherished romantically or platonically. Family to Chinese culture is very important. A sworn brother is someone you would hold by your side for life and would die for. What sworn brothers think of each other can actually come in both platonic and romantic forms. They may think of each other as brothers, as extremely close friends or romantic partners. A lot of couples in Chinese BL consider themselves sworn brothers because the LGBT community is sadly frowned upon.
You can also think of words like “哥哥” (gege, Chinese) and “오빠” (Oppa, Korean). Gege is translated to ‘older brother’. The term itself is used to flirt often nowadays but you would also address your older brother or older male friend gege. Oppa is misinterpreted as what someone may call their boyfriend but in reality Oppa means, similarly to gege, older brother but it’s only used when a female refers to an older male. Both terms can be used platonically or romantically. They both have brother in the English translation but there are many times when you would refer to a romantic partner with those terms.
It also explains why Kaeluc is more popular in the eastern portion of the fandom. A lot of westerners cannot grasp the proper concept at first and immediately jump on the idea that they think of each other as brothers. Even if you don’t ship them and think of their dynamic as brothers, remember not everybody’s opinions on their dynamic is the same. The only reasonable time to disagree with a person’s opinion is when they think of them as brothers and lovers.
But the thing is, diluc and kaeya aren't Chinese, i know the game was made in like Asia or China though
@@favsweet The Chinese version (which is the original one) writes in Kaeya's story 拜兄弟. It doesn't have a direct translation and is a word that describes their relationship. It's not just a word that can be used to describe them outside of the game, it's a word used to describe them within the game (if that makes any sense?)

Anyway, here’s the definition of adoption:
the action or fact of legally taking another's child and bringing it up as one's own, or the fact of being adopted.
Here’s what happened in the story:
Diluc’s father took in Kaeya while he was very young, raised him, loved him (and I quote from Kaeya’s in-game story), and it is possible that it was legal. No matter if the Chinese version didn’t specifically say it, that is adoption... Also, Kaeya is referred to as Diluc’s father’s son and Diluc’s brother. Was the translation so off that they got their relations wrong?
Plus, yes the hate for this art could be seen as disrespectful but the artist chose to post it and once it’s on the internet it is open for criticism. Especially when it is something that goes against the morals of many. For example: it would sure be disrespectful to criticize the people that draw sexual/gore fanart of the mcyt minors but people do it because they believe it is wrong. That is more serious than this but a similar situation

I literally clicked this video to listen to Diluc and Kaeya sing. But here am I spending the last 30 minutes reading all this chaotic comments about people SCREAMING "BUT THEY'RE BROTHERS". I haven't even played the video yet😭.
Let me eDumaCatE y'all. In the original language in Genshin Impact which is Chinese for Mihoyo is a Chinese company, it was CLEARLY STATED THE THEY'RE SWORN BROTHERS. In chinese culture, a sworn brother/sibling is a person who is with you through thick and thin and you treat them like a real sibling but you DON'T ACTUALLY ADOPT THEM. The english dub poorly translated that part for the lack of term I guess. So frankly speaking, Kaeya was never adopted into the family but treated like family. Those are two different things. I even found stories or dramas where sworn siblings even end in romantic relationships like lovers.
If that is not enough to convince any of you and keep pressing on that they are aDoPteD BroTHErs, you might wanna remember that Mondstadt was based off of Germany and FYI it is legal to marry your adopted siblings in that country. So, in even on legal standpoint, no rules are broken, only the pride of those people who can not accept it just because they lack research. And for the final blow, Kaeya left after the whole incident in the manga and changing his last name, breaking all connections to Diluc. That makes all that more sense right.
Now that that's done I will now be back to listening to these song. Shout out for those who watch this to actually enjoy Diluc and Kaeya sing. Y'all cool🙂

If you’re having a hard time compromising the sworn brothers aspect in English then here’s the american equivalent of it.
I’m African American, and we have this thing called AAVE (African American Verdicular English) it’s a dialect and not standardized English. Examples of this would be, (sis, finna, I be, bouta, etc.)
Now a lot of us call our friends sis, but that doesn’t mean we’re sisters, it simply means we’re close, a lot of times it’s rude to call someone you don’t know sis, (in my experiences at least) especially when you’re arguing.
I see that it’s common for westerners to ignore the context of other cultures 🗿 because African Americans are often looked down upon by the way we speak, or do things, but then people want to consume our culture, similar to how anti kaeluc shippers are xenophobic to Chinese kaeluc shippers (even going to he point where they say they hate Chinese people) because they’re “brothers” but, they’re playing a Chinese game.

In the Chinese version they’re actually sworn brothers (Like ppl with a really close relationship or smth theres probs more to it) but there was a mistranslation somehow
And when it said somewhere in the game that Kaeya was “adopted”, it wasn’t really the correct way of saying it so he isn’t official adopted (there wasn’t really any actual paperwork)
