I'm so happy to see even the struggles of travel, because as you did, there's always a way out! You are such an inspiration and I love all of your videos!
YAY! A BB video today! great video about your travel and the problems you had. I didn't realize how modern Manilla is! Fantastic looking city. I hope you find more wifi and upload more...I can't wait to see the whole PI trip.
I am glad you are enjoying in Manila. And I was so excited to hear positive feedback regarding our country. For sure you will enjoy there God bless you and I will keep following you while you are there fir the rest of your vacation!
This video was a lovely surprise for the end of the day! So glad you chose the Philippines for this trip-I've never been interested in traveling there before, but now I can't wait to!
Never get in a cab that doesn't have the meter running. Dont talk to the driver. Never tip more then 15%. I got ripped off getting to malate for 400ps. Meter said 290. But its $2..
I'll be there in june too! I've been watching a couple of videos and it's been recommended to take one flight to Puerto Princessa and slowly make ur way up to El Nido and island hop to coron (bout 3 weeks) instead of wasting money and time getting all over the country on flights etc.
Filipinos are suuuuuuper nice. When I went there, everyone was very accommodating cordial and helpful. I went for a local artist's concert and till this day when people see my videos and ask about my trip they say: Thank you for visiting from that far (I'm from South America), hope you had a great time, etc. The traffic and the humidity are bananas, def.! But the country, people and good vibes are worth it!. Good luck with the rest of your trip. Cheers!
I went to Philippines first week of November and my friend warned me about the Christmas thing 😂😂 they literally celebrate since like beginning of September apparently haha

Good thing I watched all the way to end. You went to Donsol, Sorsogon. That is my hometown. So much to do in Bicol. Away from the busy ways of Manila. Just nature and locals. Can’t wait to see your vlog.
I’m currently planning a trip to south east asia and The Philippines are a must. I watched your philippines travel guide and now I’m rewatching your Philippines vlogs😍
Sorry to heard that I feel sad but stay in the Philippines is the best experiences and change your life completely. I see success in your career work just passionate an effort of love and rewarding at the end you're Winner.
Thank you for sharing. We migrated in USA 40 years ago. I'm planning to go back in our beautiful country end of this year. I definitely like to experience that place. Surprisingly no one told me about this place but you. Thanks. Enjoy your stay. Live, Love, Pray😍🤗
I run an ING card, there are no atm charges at all world wide. They refund atm fees straight back into your account. This is handy for only having small amounts of cash at any one time.
Welcome to Manila Philippines! Keep safe and enjoy your stay here just saw your vlog now and try to watch you from now on i just subscribed and click the bell now 😀
It was great to meet you Christiane! Glad you're having a blast here in our country. If you want to have a lil' stroll in Manila, let us know! David is used to living here in Manila already, so we would be glad to show you around Manila. :D
Yes I live in the Philippines, I am English too ... yes you was ripped off by Taxi.. I had issues with my bank card when I arrived in PH but it depends on the bank you go to I am with Natwest, and I could only get money from HSBC and CHINA BANK mainly, other thing is they charge over £2.50 per transaction when you use the card ... But I did notify Natwest before I left UK and have to do it every 90 days... what you can do to get cheaper calls to UK is load your phone with Viber credit in the future .. good video ... I love the people in the Philippines, my wife is Filipino we been married since 2017 and me now an Ex-pat was the best decision I ever made... you do get good and bad no matter where you go... but i glad you got sorted but deffo watch the Taxi drivers we travel even in a taxi to Las Pinas which is around 2 hours away and it cost around PHP 300 so gives you an idea and thats a lot further then Nimoy to Makati .. hope you come back again but next time be all sorted lol I know how you felt I had similar with my bank its a nightmare fortunately for me my wife and her family lived nearby so all was good
Visit Makati City, Ortigas Centre in Mandaluyong City and Bonifacio Global City to get the modern hippie New York vibe, (Bonifacio Global City is a MUST VISIT)also if you're feeling adventurous try visiting those MASSIVE casinos in Pasay City, you will be blown away. I kid you not. bars, clubs, parties, shops, there's even an artificial beach inside the Casinos, Okada, Solaire and City of Dreams. Metro Manila is massive, take your time to explore the nearly hundred of thousands of restaurants and shops. If you have time, visit the Japan town in Makati, there's plenty of authentic japanese restaurants there with japanese chefs or Chinatown in Binondo the oldest Chinatown in Asia it's old and a little hectic. And dont forget to shop shop shop. Shopping is a must when you're in the Philippines. You'll be surprised at what you'll discover there. For bazaar like experience visit Greenhills, they got antiques, jewelries (fakes), clothes and so much more at cheap prices also dont forget to haggle while there. Enjoy your stay!
Same thing happened to me (first time I had problems and I’ve been to Ph several times) and it happened again in Laos. Try to an actual bank machine, PNB is a good one. Also, you can go to an actual bank and get a cash advance with a credit card, there’s a bit of a charge for that but when in need... I haven’t had to do that because I’ve had US$ as backup which has been a lucky thing for backup. Good luck!
The most important situation Miss Beauty is that you are safe. Filipinos in general are friendly & most accommodating people. We are also a welcoming people much more if you are a visitor. I'm happy that you are safe fr. a Filipino subscriber in Manila.
I just got back from a night in Makati on my way out of the Philippines, and I loved it. I met so many artists and kind people in the streets (which are clean) and my god, the food.
Yellow taxis have a larger flag down amount that regular taxis and their per meter rate is also higher. With regard to your ATM, yes, I worked with Hsbc before. As part of security, you will need to call in to have your card activated for use outside your home country at least 48 hours before. The agent will get in touch with Bankard security (usually a call center in India) to have your card activated and yes, they're not 24/7. Charge to experience as they say.
I love your story. I love your energy and I can sense you are a positive human being. Despite what you encountered all I hear from you are the beautiful things with your wide eyed wonders. Maravilloso! Estupendo! Thank you for accepting the little inconveniences of our capital. You are the kind of tourist that we appreciate. Try visiting southern Philippine cities like Bacolod, Iloilo and Cebu. And if not for the liquid blue eyes you could pass for one of the mestizas in the southern cities. Desde provincia de iloilo bienvenido al paìs de los latinos de asia. Dios te bendigo.
That hostel looks amazing- load up a wristband- wow they are ahead of the game! Lol 😂 you are such a great storyteller- cant wait for more adventures 🤙😍
Next time try to talk or ask help to locals in airport so they can guide or help you out how to get into your destination without getting scammed by a taxi drivers in manila.
I booked my holiday to the Philippines last year around this time; i was there from 17 December 2019 till January 2nd. I celebrated new year 2020 just around the corner of Z hostel; In Nokal The days before i was on the beautiful Palawan Islands in El Nido. I'm so sad i wont be able to go back this year!
True. ALWAYS bring cash and spread them out- keep some with you (in your wallet, socks, belt with secret compartment, etc.) AND some in your luggage. Before your trip, alert your banks and credit cards of the travel dates and destinations in that way you wouldn’t have problem transacting. HAPPY TRAVELS! 😊
My USA debit cards usually don't work in remote ATMs and small banks here in the Philippines. I have no issue if I go to the major banks like BDO or PNB (Phil. National Bank) China Bank etc. Just a thought. Also you definitely want to contact your bank before international travel and always have emergency cash
She said she only had 15 GBP. Current exchange rate is P65.00 to 1 GBP. Let's at the airport exchange rate was P60.00. She only had P900.00, not P9,000.00. may be she took the taxi with fix rate.
Go for a Starling card - you don’t get charged for taking money out abroad and there’s 24/7 in app support. They helped me out when I was in a remote bit of Bali not able to get cash out. I’m in Vietnam now after three weeks in the Philippines and had the best time - I highly recommend Port Barton (my new favourite place on earth as there’s next to no tourists). Also the Nordzee hostel in Boljoon!
darling you are very brave woman, you nwill be safe,God will protect,i pray tha you will be happy, just do it and enjoy, take good care.good luck dear.xx jimmy, london.
Grab is the best option for public transpo no need for phone grab both is outside the terminals. Call your bank and inform them about your travel and exact dates to allow international transaction, best to have small cash for money exchange. Save the country or city offline Google map . Always research the place you go before your trip such emergency, outbreak diseases, place not to go and scams. That will save a ton.
First rule of traveling, always always always notify your bank where you’re traveling to so your bank access will not be denied. AND, always have some cash on hand in case of emergency. Two top priorities. 😉
Welcome to the Philippines. Your problem about not able to withdraw your money when you first arrived, is a good information to pass along to those who are visiting countries in Southeast Asia. Its great that you met the Beer and Breakfast couple, truly nice people to know. I am a fan and a subscriber of their Vlog and follow their adventures there. Glad also that you feel safe and comfortable being in the Philippines, which erases the bad things you heard about Manila. Enjoy your stay and keep us abreast about your experience. God bless
Hey its Kaylee, we met at Devocean after scuba diving and went to get some drinks together! I found your youtube :) yay! I also stayed at that same hostel a few years ago on a diff trip! Crazy nice! Good luck with the rest of your travels and maybe we'll meet again sometime soooon! If you are ever in San Francisco, let me know!
try sticking to use public transport(bus, jeepney, tricycle). You can easily ask people around how to go around the city. They are friendly and helpful. just avoid taxis. Using public transport lets you observe the culture more anywhere and you can easily get a feel of the area
I'm so happy to see even the struggles of travel, because as you did, there's always a way out! You are such an inspiration and I love all of your videos!

They are way ahead of the game hey! Who would've thought in the Philippines 😅
Backpacking Bananas exactly 😂 crazy organised 😉
Taxi is very cheap in the phillipines.
Yup, cashless society, giving up personal info etc eventually to the state and corp..really smart..
stangeriam fair point, however, harsh execution is not the best
Just a tip. All airport stations has Grab stand where you can ask them to book you a ride. No additional payment just the grab price for transpo.
On a side note. Welcome to the Philippines!
good thing you were accompanied by another youtubers vacationing here. i hope you had a great time
Next time try to talk or ask help to locals in airport so they can guide or help you out how to get into your destination without getting scammed by a taxi drivers in manila.
Enjoy the people, the food and view. Thanks for vlogging about the Philippines. Mabuhay ka!
FYI, They have grab booths in the airport, Taxi is not a good option. For those whose WiFi is not working. Just letting you know.
Hello! Welcome to the Phillipines! Camiguin Island and Surigao. Dont worry many people will help you find a beautiful place here.
I hope that you will enjoy your travel, take care and always be careful.
She said she only had 15 GBP. Current exchange rate is P65.00 to 1 GBP. Let's at the airport exchange rate was P60.00. She only had P900.00, not P9,000.00. may be she took the taxi with fix rate.
Greatvideo ! welcome!
You're a good story-teller. Can't help but subscribed.
Chicken intestine is delicious.... you have to dip or soak it first to vinegar sauce before you eat it... its yum yum yum
Gerome from G&D bloggers is my friend. They're such a nice couple. Glad you were able to meet them 😊
So glad you managed to get a video uploaded! I've heard the internet is pretty bad in the Philippines. Can't wait to see the rest of your adventures!
Thanks Sophie! Haha yep it's pretty terrible for YT uploads on the islands!!
Really excited for you to see the Philippines. I hope to see more videos of your travels in the Philippine islands. ;)
WELCOME TO THE PHILIPPINES
God bless
Thanks for visiting Philippines
Salamat sa pagpunta sa Pilipinas
Hey its Kaylee, we met at Devocean after scuba diving and went to get some drinks together! I found your youtube :) yay! I also stayed at that same hostel a few years ago on a diff trip! Crazy nice! Good luck with the rest of your travels and maybe we'll meet again sometime soooon! If you are ever in San Francisco, let me know!
Hey Kaylee! Ahh awesome! Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip xx
try sticking to use public transport(bus, jeepney, tricycle). You can easily ask people around how to go around the city. They are friendly and helpful. just avoid taxis. Using public transport lets you observe the culture more anywhere and you can easily get a feel of the area
