Wow this is awesome, we went in hammer cave in 1975 but we didn’t have wetsuits, so we didn’t make it far, that is some of the coldest water I have ever felt!! We explored several caves in mid 70s with our high school geology teacher. I have wondered for YEARS what that cave looked like, you have NO IDEA HOW COOL it is for me to finally see this!! Are there any rough maps of the cave?
This cave is absolutely gorgeous, but I never use maps whatsoever, I prefer the feeling of discovering it for the first time without knowing where it goes.
@@jonyp.artist yeah I've been in a little but was gonna try a "legit" permit first. I wonder why it's not offered? Whistling Cave on the property is gnarly but it's got a gate now.
@@idhikethat Hamer Cave is privately owned my the cement company near by, not by the state. They don't want any liability and this is why it's the only one in Spring Mill that actually has a sign to not go in.

Only been there once, age 13 (1982-ish) and that with just a flashlight. Thanks.
Do you get a permit for Hamer Cave the same way you get them for Donaldson/Bronson and CRV? I might try to pop in this one soon.
You can't get a permit and no one will let you in. You don't have a choice, you have to sneak in.
@@jonyp.artist sometimes it be like that 😂
@@idhikethat 😂 Super easy to get in without being noticed. And it's one of the most amazing one out there, definitely worth it.
