I’m no expert or anything but I’d say just keep practicing. One it cuts off circulation, either stop or take a break. Gradually push your limit without pushing too hard. I’ve had this issue with sitting in seza position (sitting on feet) and I can do it much longer now without my feet going numb. Likewise, my arms used to lose circulation pretty quick when I braided my hair, but now I can braid twice as long before I even need to rest them. Practice is key imo
@@airixxxx Yes, basically just sit there, sinking deeper and deeper every day. Hold for a really long time. And balance however you have to, how you do that doesn't really matter much.
If I can learn this squat as a 350lb 6ft man and sit in it comfortably for up to 10 minutes at a time, anyone can. This was actually one of the initial stepping stones in my fitness journey. Down to 300 now

@@angelnoyy I don't know if this is helpful: I had knee pain when running, the diagnosis was “irritation of the outer ligament tendons” of the knees. For a year and a half, I couldn't walk up and down stairs without pain, and sport was out of the question. When I started doing squats, I couldn't even bend my knees at a 90° angle. But after just a few weeks of careful practice, I got lower and lower and the knee pain gradually went away. After just two months, I was able to jogg again - without pain. And because I do the exercise practically every day - for one to three minutes - I still have no more problems with my knees. Meanwhile I can almost bend down to the floor. However, it was important that I always did the exercise very carefully, only as deeply as I could without pain. Various people have given the advice to go into mild pain - but in my experience this is not a good idea. A slight tension is okay, but the exercise shouldn't hurt at all. I guess that`s what fabulous "Strength Side" would also recommend.
Most people literally just don’t move their bodies if you just took some time for yourself on a regular basis, you’d be able to heal yourself and feel a lot better 🙌🏽
I love to sit and rest in this position! I knew I wasn’t the only one lol. When people see me do it in the gym they find it amazing how I can get so deep. I assumed most people could do this, but it’s actually quite rare to find someone who does it naturally.
You'll be squat in no time. It has passed 3 years doing it everyday for 10 minutes per day and I'm still waiting to get a full squat without being attached to something, but I have improved a lot and now I feel myself lots better so I'm keeping excersing myself.
I'm 57. I've been working on this since I saw older men in other countries resting this way. I've had less back pain and it's no longer really painful.
I’ve been doing squats a long time & had no idea about the spine & organ info. Sincerely… Thank you for this… 👍🏿✌🏿✊🏿 My daily physical maintenance is 100 squats/pushups…
Totally can confirm. My knees were getting "creaky" at mid-40s, I started doing a HIIT class (lighter weights, but fuller range of motion), plus some stretches from your channel and knees over toes, and totally feels like a different lower body. I start my warm ups with a deep squat. Love it. Thank you!
Getting better and wider with the squat and can FEEL how good it is!! At nearly 61, doing lots of your exercises--loving it!! Seriously, thank you for all your posts 💜💜💜
I’m 28 and historically not athletic at all, though I started regularly doing HIIT and weightlifting à year ago. I’ve been getting fantastic results from doing deep, very slow Cossack squats and pigeon pose regularly. My ankle mobility still needs work, but my hip mobility is skyrocketing!
Im not asian, but ive been chillin and resting like that for a longgg time and had no idea it was even a thing in Asia until recently lol and im so grateful 😂

I'm 56 and have been doing this for a couple of minutes every day for about 6 months now and it has greatly enhanced my rehab following (herniated L4L5 disc) surgery. I feel much more flexible and am much more mobile.
I love this channel because the OP really understands a lot of us are suffering with multiple health issues and lifting weights for 2 hours in the gym everyday isn’t realistic, while yes it would be amazing if we could though. A lot of diy exercise channels just over complicate stuff without realizing baby steps is what a lot of people need. Something that they can see and think “let me do this right now” vs “I will try this later when I am in a bit more shape”. Anything they can try right away and easily remember is most likely candidate to stick. But a lot of online conversations around fitness focus on chastising people instead of seeing things from their side.
I forgot all about this.. since I was a attacked 3 years ago one of my left meniscus was completely shattered from this attack. Every step I'm taking is so painful even with some oxycodone helps a little man at the age of 73,143lbs and 5'4"what do all sorts exercise and some sports now so depressed from this attack and now this constant knee pain I can't do basic things anymore..l never had even a partial knee replacement. I'll drop things from my arthritis give me a reason to to bend and squat the pick things up. It's all exercise I say
I've been trying this for a few years, but had to give up again and again because of problems with the ankles or back. Since this winter I manage a long time relatively relaxed with the heels completely on the floor. It helped me a lot to "soft jump" in to the squat from the knees (with the support of the hands) and to hold more often but shorter, instead of "pushing" myself in to the position and hold on longer. so I found the right foot position for me. maybe it will help someone else. 👋
I te-started doing squats about 4 months ago. It really does help with my back pain. As I also have OA in my knees (I'm almost 60) it seems to be helping my knees as well
I'm from Poland and I've been resting in this position since I've been a kid, whenever I'm on a train or with friends out and there is nowhere to sit ill do this 😂 It's called Slavic Squat 😁
It is. I’m doing it for 2 months and huge difference since week 1. I do it pretty much daily. No more back pain, I can get in and out of my car easily, amazing leg strength in short period of time, and the list goes on and on 🎉 💪
I do 120kg weighted squats exactly like this. Tom Platz style is basically this squat position. My hip flexors are👌 My legs are👌 It just feels right! 😎💯
In Asian countries, we grew up using squat toilets. Back then, we loved reading novels or comics while squatting inside toilet. Sometimes, even after finishing our business, we would unknowingly keep reading for another half an hour! Families with sit-down toilets were considered wealthy, and we used to envy those who had them. However, after sit-down toilets became more common, people started experiencing constipation. Even though I haven’t squatted for over 20 years, I recently tried squatting for half an hour without feeling the slightest bit of fatigue. Perhaps that’s why Asians tend to have stronger calf muscles-just a guess! 😂
