Polkadot Decoded 2021 - Phala: XCMP makes confidential computing composable (CN CC)

Composability is a killer feature in blockchains. However, there remain unsolved problems in the emerging Layer2 space and especially within privacy-preserving technologies due to the lack of efficient state synchronize mechanisms.
In this talk, we will share how the problem is fixed by the combination of XCMP, the async messaging protocol, and SPREE, the shared security design on Polkadot.
We will also showcase how easily a parachain can add the ability to provide privacy by using Phala in different areas. E.g.: - DeFi projects can protect the privacy of user positions and trading history
- DID projects can run privacy-preserving analysis on user data
- bridges for long-tail blockchains can enhance security and trust to reduce the need for massive stake or federations
