The only people mad at how it ended are people who didn’t get what THEY wanted. The story went exactly where it should have gone! It showed perfectly how it really goes for 99.9% of people in that lifestyle!

The ending was exactly as it should have been. Heartbreaking. So sad saying goodbye to these incredible characters

I really enjoyed the way this scene was filmed and I was glad to see a video about it but feel like they talk a lot about how important the estate is but dont show much lol.
Also Kano deserves an award, but the guy who plays Stef does too, he was incredible!

How is this video better than the season
I think the pressure of getting it right came across well as the pressure Deshane was under in character. Excellent series guys. Up there with Line of duty and Blue Lights ❤
Feel like the creators were inspired by the French film ‘Athena’ which is all about a riot on a block. It is filmed beautifully and it’s so gripping! I just don’t think all the riots and protesting felt necessary in this show, it felt forced and unrealistic
Nuh bruv! Top Boy was created way before Athena. Athena is like 1 year old. Top Boy has been around for over 10 years.

Fantastic show.
They could have drawn more inspiration from Athena for the riot scenes. I feel that at times the crowds were not as dense, angry and agitated as they should have been.

Felt like the whole season was stuck on 2x speed.. A lot of loose ends that we're never tied up.. Should've been more than 6 episodes in my opinion and the end was very anticlimactic.. Season was bit of a miss and felt very rushed with low budget.
Why is Ashley the only one doing press for this season? I haven’t seen anyone other cast members doing interviews. Everything about this season feels weird.

I agreed with Ashley when he said in an interview he didn't want that part in. I know he even said something like that happened, but it seemed forced, and like grasping at straws a bit.
It really didn't. Everything played out naturally and also highlighted the true state of Summerhouse, which is disarray. Only thing is this state isn't usually so physically seen, but for the purpose of the overall story, it made perfect sense.

Amazing series, the final season was a let down compared to all the previous ones in my opinion, Summer House will always be the best version of Top Boy to me.
Honestly these last 3 episodes seemed so rushed. This series deserved a more thought out ending. It felt like they needed to round it off quick because some of the actors had other things to do. The last scene between driss and sully were more emotional than the last scene between sully and duchane. But of course that's just my opinion

The two undercover cops should of been still there and got dushane and sully and sent em down for life sentences...that way you keep yourself open for either a spin of or a new season if you ever did wanna revisit the show...or even one dies one goes jail. Theres still stories there to be told that would definitely keep the audience interested....
If you keep a series running for to long there’s nothing you can do with it, 3 seasons is enough to get the plot across. Will just become boring if it starts going on to season 4 5 6 7 will loose its excitement and will become to predictable they was right what they did

Was selected by my casting agent for a small part in this series. But I didn't attend look exciting on the filming set wish I attended.
Opportunity missed
Love the show and loved the characters. This is the only show I know of that ended well with each season being good quality. Most show runners milk it and keep going even long after they get stale like walking dead or end poorly like game of thrones. I can binge watch the entire series of top boy each year and enjoy it over and over again.

In what way exactly was season 3 any good mate? They built up so much in season 2 only to ignore it all in season 3 lmao. This season was hella bad, I love Top Boy, but the way the writers just wrote off so many stuff that were developing in season 2 is crazy. What happened to Dushanes heart problem & panic attacks? What happened to the undercover cops that had a case going against Dushane? Like there's so much that just went missing, instead let's put a riot together that lasts 2 episodes and have it take up so much time, so stupid.
@@TurkiskYoghurt exactly, season 5 was awful, everyone was acting out of character, especially Dushane, and the writing was horrendous. This season has been a disgrace to the Top Boy name.

Such a disappointing finale to such a good series
Bit of a let down as a final season. Rushed into 6 episodes a little. Plot points just bought up as a reason to kill someone off. Just felt it deserved a 10 episode season to get a bit more depth behind certain elements. Some great individual scenes, but as a season, just felt it was a bit off compared to 1&2.

Gritty series about working class communities and urban underworld. Majority ethnic minority cast yet the executive producer is @1:00 Sir Charles Steel, Esq. You can tell he knows a lot about the world and people portrayed in the show. Furthermore, look at the entire crew smh.

The stephan plot was integral. However, it felt rushed. But still turned out to be a brilliant season. People are gonna say it was bad season, but thats only because all the predecessors were out of this world.

Don't know why everyone is hating, it's the same type of ending as snowfall, if you get too greedy it ain't gonna end up well. This it how it should have ended. There is no top boy. It's only temporary.

so refreshing in the current year to see a basically allwhite TV crew not careening about in spirals of self hate and screaming for inclusivity and reparations for sins they didn't commit.
You can tell they rushed the last season.

Topboy needs to be more diverse behind the camera
The story didn’t need a riot. 1, what was the reason behind needing all the distractions from the story. 2, if it was to express a political revolt against certain issues within a community why make it the hood version of les miserables. 3, why was it so forced, I mean the first protest was ok, but that’s that n it’s fine, people power 💪🏼 but then the bailiff stuff, like seriously, that isn’t helping anybody including the characters in the story. The full blown riot then being born through a police car speeding to the scene that the community are creating knocking a girl playing football in the road over 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️ I mean come on, hardly ‘brutality’ that would evoke a riot, just so non believable n forced. Addressing immigration and the housing crisis or police brutality doesn’t need to be on the nose like that, subtlety and a real message. I think the issues were that it takes time to create emotional storylines and characters and in all honesty I had no empathy or care for any of them. Though the Irish section, that was building into something really interesting, paired with the fact they recruited one of the best most interesting young actors in the game atm in Barry keoghan. But it all just quickly vanished, I get it was a way of showing the brutality of Dushane and sully n what they have become, killing people in cold blood effortlessly and also that even with the division in the ranks they can still come together to defeat a common enemy buttttt come on, that was the antagonist, not the ott riot going on. Those Irish characters could of really got under the skin and into the mechanics of criminality and the point the writers were clearly trying to achieve. WE DID NOT NEED THE POINTLESS RIOT. All seemed diluted and rushed, the main aim of the finale being to simply watch summerhouse burn through the acts of its own people for 2 hours while in the background these complex and interesting characters we have watched for 12 years suddenly become contrived tropes of any other ‘live by the sword die by the sword’ garbage. So poor, and unlike some people justifying it by stating what do ppl want like some huge explosive war at the end.. no! Quite the opposite. We want to cling onto our characters until the very end and see the human in them, monsters or food (that was a good line 👌🏼). It just could of been so much better, there was such a relatable, deep, interesting story within these characters endings and it just feels like they were ignored throughout to make way for simple yet convenient plot turns and some form of poorly constructed political message that created next to zero actual insight into how the real people going through those real situations feel. 😢😞

Both Kano(aka Sully) & Ashley (aka Dushanne) are both credited as the Executive Producers on this season. Along with Drake
When you see the production team, you begin to grasp as to why there are no positive melanated men in this. Where were the Teachers and Mentors that contrasted the systemic stereotypes?. Very intentional.
The production team do as they're told by the Executive Producers.....who are all black BTW

I get what you're saying but both Kano and Ashley have said many times in interviews that they want to tell these stories. Obviously there are better role models out there but you can't say this stuff doesn't happen because it does and the reason why Top Boy is great is because they humanise these characters instead of demonising them (or at least that's my interpretation anyway, I don't see them as one dimensional, but maybe they could have given Dushane more grace).

Dushane lost everything.!!! He said several times in early episodes he never wanted to keep doing this and wanted to retire welll when all his money was stolen he was done!
Thats why he panicked and acted out of character m, with no money, no mum and now second to sully he was basically depressed.
And sully was sully a broken man and soul.
People were wanting a massive war or explosive ending but in reality what happened was more realistic
