    Charges:
    1. First Degree Reckless Homicide, Use of a Deadly Weapon (Joseph Rosenbaum)
    2. First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Use of a Deadly Weapon (Richard
McGinnis, reporter for Daily Caller, not injured but near Rosenbaum when Rittenhoue
    fired)
    3. First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Use of a Deadly Weapon (unknown male)
    4. First Degree Intentional Homicide, Use of a Deadly Weapon (Anthony Huber)
    5. Attempt First Degree Intentional Homicide, Use of a Deadly Weapon (Gaige
    Grosskreutz)
    6. Possession of a Dangerous Weapon by a Person under the Age of 18
    7. Fail to Comply with Order of Local Government - Emergency Management Activity
(citation, carries no penalty) - everyone present was breaking the 7pm curfew issued by
    the sheriff.
JURY CHOSEN IN ONE DAY. 20 jurors have been selected in WI v. Kyle Rittenhouse. 9 men and 11 women. (8 are alternates)
Rittenhouse shot and killed Joseph Rosenbaum, 26, and Anthony Huber, 26, and injured Gaige Grosskreutz, 27. Prosecutors say that Rittenhouse, then 17 and from Illinois, was a vigilante looking for a fight. He, like other right-wingers, went to Kenosha, Wisconsin ostensibly to protect property. This happened as protests over police shooting local man Jacob Blake turned violent. Rittenhouse’s attorneys assert he was acting in self-defense. This case became a cause célèbre among conservatives.
Prosecutors have struggled in court, failing to introduce evidence of prior aggressive behavior. This included evidence showing him attacking a woman who was in an altercation with his sister. The other is that he was closely linked to the violent, far-right Proud Boys organization.
Kenosha County Judge Bruce Schroeder said an appellate court would reverse him if he allowed these in trial. The evidence was too prejudicial, he said. He left it up in the air whether he would allow footage showing someone identified as Rittenhouse discussing a Black man exiting a CVS pharmacy. Rittenhouse believed the man was shoplifting.

To be honest with you, This seems more of a dog and pony show. I'm fairly confident that if this case wouldn't of had national attention, it would of been an open and shut self defense case. But b/c politics are what they are, they are going through the rigmarole of a full trail, but I don't think the prosecutor nor the judge feel that this is anything other than going through the motion.

I have been following this case very closely and listening to the actual court proceedings. I have a true desire of wanting both justice and fairness. It’s really hard to understand how the DA office can proceed with the charges KR is fighting when the lead deputy DA’s own witnesses seem to be supporting a self defense claim with their testimony. Maybe KR, his legal guardian at the time (he was 17), the protection squad he was with or the guy that bought the rifle should be facing some liability for the deaths….but murder seems to be an overcharge and I would think the prosecutors lose credibility with the jury for not seeking truth and justice in this matter. Also, this is the prosecutor’s biggest case he will ever try and he can’t even learn the basics of firearm safety or components of the AR platform. He looks ridiculous not knowing the appropriate terminology, he is going to lose the respect of those jurors who have some basic knowledge of gun safety.

So far the defense has presented so much evidence of self defense. He even turned himself in and volunteered access to his phone when there was no other option to enforce the search warrant. Meanwhile the police applied Marsy's law for the first and only time in Kenosha's history and did not fulfill a search warrant for another participant in these events. They aslo did not arrest one of the participants for posession of marijuana and could appear as favoritism to him and as an incentive to testify against Rittenhouse in order to get leniency.

Under the state law you can claim self defense even if you are in possession of the weapon illegally. You have a higher burden of duty before you can claim defense, but many have said he easily meets even that higher burden as he was in full withdrawal from the situation and being pursued before firing a shot. So even if the possession charge manages to stick, which is sounding an awful lot like it won't, it wouldn't kill the defense, just make it a bit harder, but nothing that puts self defense out of reach.

And the prosecuter said, "this is something the jury can decide". And how is the jury going to decide that without knowing what the different types of groups assaults are? Is the jury an expert on this stuff? No. That's the whole point of calling expert witnesses.
So the detective can't comment on the style of attack, and this leaves the jury to guess. I'm just a layman, but this sounds like a bad call by the judge.

I did as well, but they were doing that in a 'grooming' way, or when (in my case) when they were mad at me. I doubt your teachers referred to you as "Mr.Stuber" when discussing you with your parents. They just called you "Mark". Let's be real, shall we?
