Billy West from the original Ren and Stimpy and Eric Bauza from the adult party Ren and Stimpy have both voiced Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny at different points in their lives, when they have also voiced Stimpy.
You can tell Eric Buaza has distanced himself as much as he can from Adult Party Cartoon. For example, there is a drawn picture showing all of the cartoon characters that Eric has voiced in his career. All standing together in a crowd. There are dozens of characters. But you know who's missing from that crowd of characters? Stimpy. He wants everyone to forget that he had anything to do with APC. And nobody can blame him a bit. In fact, nearly all sources that list Eric's career accomplishments leave Stimpy off the list. Both Eric and his fanbase are like: "Yeah, we're gonna pretend that didn't happen, okay?" 😂
@@DeadPixel1105can't blame him, Billy west rejected reprising His role in APC because of 2 reasons: 1. He Hated John K. For basically being a jerk to him un múltiple ocasiones. 2. Man's best friend was actually aired in the UK a few times. I must have watched most of season 1 and 2 then at the age of 8 or 9, but then maybe they got complaints? I'm not sure why they decided to air it here during that time.
For years I had no idea that there were two different ren and stimpy. I remember rewatching this show and thinking why did I like this so much as a kid. I didn’t remember it being so gross.
Ren and Stimpy: Adult Party Cartoon represents the very bottom of the trenches, depths that had never been reached by any cartoon ever since... Until Velma came along and managed to reach deeper depths.
Nah. Velma sucks but this shit here ruined my childhood. I had Ren and Stimpy everything. Birthday parties all that. Then one day late at night after work I saw it on TV and wanted to relive my childhood. Boy was I wrong and the show sucked so bad I never wanted to see this shit again or even let my kids know this existed. It’s that bad. Velma just fucking sucks. I rather watch paint dry than watch Velma. I rather rip my eyes out before I ever see another episode of this garbage.

"Onward & Upward" could've worked if the restaurant featured was a fancy pants restaurant known for being so cheap, that it refused to buy actual ingredients; instead deciding to "save it up" by using bodily fluids cooked in the form of foods. And R & S in an attempt to appear classy, reluctantly consume said bodily fluids. You can even have the sales guy scam artist (who is the manager of the restaurant) drop this line to explain things: "Here at "La Grosse" we take an innovative approach to saving money! While poor people are spending their not-so-well-earned money on "actual food", La Grosse saves it BIG by using the amazing wonders of the human body to satiate it's customers!" As for "Naked Beach Frenzy", cut back the sexual aspect by 50-70%. And have the women want to fuck Stimpy while they ignore Ren. With Stimpy innocently assuming that they are just interested in him non-sexually. A jealous Ren tries to get their attention and shenanigans ensue.
Hey, at the very least, with that idea for how to improve "Onward and upward", it would've been a little bit creative and possibly could've been a slight jab at how shallow or pretentious, a lot of ideas of how to live the high life could've been.
You know, I actually brainstormed an idea for a gross-out joke that could actually be funny. I imagined that at some point, Ren & Stimpy would be getting ready to dig into what they think is sausages, only for Ren to stop after noticing a smell. Then, when he finds out where the smell came from, he snaps and shouts "That's it! I draw the line at this!", before being interrupted by a loud burp and turning to see that Stimpy had already finished his meal, to which he replies with "Uhh, what line, Ren?". Which leads to Ren in both horror and disgust, rushing to the toilet of their newfound home, where he proceeds to be sick in it.
@@retrogamelover2012Lmfao. That's actually pretty clever. I like how we're coming up with far more creative ideas than the writers did because they presumed spit, snot, puke, piss, and shit are all funny in and of themselves.
Imagine using Ren and Stimpy as a device to bring someone you mentally scarred back into your life. It’s honestly kinda disturbing when you think about one of the most influential cartoons in history being used like that. It’s already bad enough with John himself, but using the project that made him a big name in animation just makes you look at the series in an uncomfortable perspective, had the episode been fully written and aired.
Bad writing aside. I really disliked the adult Party art and animation style. Also, It's good to see someone saying I strongly agree with since I watched APC in the early 2000s, that the original was good because John K had a great team behind him and once he had full control it really went bad
Only reason why I find the snot scenes kinda funny in APC is because how they're eating it, all fancy with their mouths puckered lol. I also like the flute scene, it reminded me of 1991 Ren And Stimpy! The art style of APC is also pretty detailed and nice. Those are my only positives...
“When put in a cage you find ways to pass the time, when set free you don’t know how to survive and you die.” This saying I just made up essentially encapsulates any form of creativity. Especially for John K who didn’t have that cage to lock his imagination in leading to the yes men who wanted more viewers to just let him run free until his ideas died out in the open 7 episodes in for all to see.
I have a Japanese friend that I am pen pals with, and showed off a practice sketch I did with these two. The only thing he knew about this show was that one log scene that blew up on Twitter, he was scarred by it, and I had to explain that there were two different versions. That was fun....
In order for Ren & Stimpy to be a great show, it required what the first two seasons had. It wasn’t just John K. It was John K with Bob camp, and Billy West all working together. John screwed it up.
It's actually insane how disconnected certain people in important situations can be. They wanted to make more stuff for the original fans, the best thing is anyone of any age can enjoy the original show because of how creative and unique it was. The moment they tried to make it an Adult show flat out ruins it and I wish more people can understand they can make cartoons that people of different ages can greatly enjoy. Perfect example is Roco's Modern Life. As well as many other's from the 90's-Y2K era. They made animated cartoons so well that I've gone back and watched them now that I'm 30 & it showed me just how well made a lot of them are.
John Kricfalusi thought the censorship on Nickelodeon held the show back, and that the lack of censorship would make the show funnier. Also, he was scared of the success of South Park, and wanted Ren & Stimpy to appeal to that same audience.
Unfortunately, John K. doesn't get that gross-out, sex, and raunchy themes does not a mature cartoon make; you have to take into account of characterization and how they would be handled based on that. Not to mention subjects that very few people would tackle, but in a very subtle way, and not be extremely condoning about it, or even give the wrong idea.
Though saying that, South Park was not free from the last two pitfalls, considering how it inadvertently kind of shaped the current bastardised perception of centrism (which can be summed up with "Nothing matters and you're stupid for giving a shit about things").
@@robbiewalker2831 He not only doesn't get the Raunchy humor, John K actually wasn't in charge of APC. He was just a supervisor and reprised his voice of Ren, Onward and Upward wasn't even Directed OR produced by him.
OK, so it wasn’t enough for John K. to be the kind of… _individual_ that he is; he had to make a caricature/portrayal of one of his *victims* in one of the episodes of this misbegotten follow-up? *_JEEZ (😬)!_*
Here's a fun fact: Early 2000s. Nick cartoons were often purchased and broadcast on local TV in our region (it introduced me to a lot of great shows that ended up being some of my favorites), and "Adult Party Cartoon" was shown on the same schedule with more innocuous shows such as «SpongeBob» or «Rugrats», INCLUDING the lost episodes (still remember the "Naked Beach Frenzy" one, lol). In general, this isn't surprising; animation products were simply purchased without any special checks (don't know how this could happen otherwise). Looks like there was only one opinion: “All cartoons are for children.” After elementary school, you could also watch some ecchi anime with explicit scenes, nudity, or /censored/ (pew-pew scenes). It was on the local broadcast of MTV at noon. Not gonna lie, it was kind of cool, but thinking about it now is just hilarious.
@@pinkpugginz, yeah, crazy times, it’s hard to imagine now, but besides ecchi there were also a lot of MTV shows with rather explicit themes and scenes, and all this in the afternoon on weekdays, perfect time.

I thought that the original cartoon that was to be paired up with "Man's Best Friend" was actually "In The Army", since that was the cartoon that was paired up with the pilot cartoon "Big House Blues" when it originally aired on Nickelodeon, and the cartoon that "Ren's Toothache" was paired up with actually ended up being "Rubber Nipple Salesmen".
@@JessePorkman I remember being able to watch reruns of the show on TV before they were released on DVD, and the orders of the episodes were actually the same as how they were shown for the latter.

Executive Meddling has ruined plenty of series, and B. The Ripping Friends(which behind the scenes was John K at his least bad and the executives at their worst in regards to him).
25:25 in the other countries that aired the second half of the series Naked Beach Frenzy had no problem with length since it was 22 minutes, Altruists was spit into two 22 minutes episodes, and Stimpy's Pregnant was split into two episodes. Part 1 was 22 minutes while part 2, which had the unique episode title of "The Blessed Event" was paired with Big House Blues uncut and Man's Best Friend

2:16 People _always_ forget to mention he was offerred a supervisor role (so the animation would be on schedule and Bob Camp would overall be the one moderating the content) and staying on the role of Ren, but he took it as an insult and left on his own terms.
Ngl, the oar scene in Man's Best Friend could probably act as a visual for what some people would like to do to John K after hearing about what he's done...Then again I might just be as unhinged.
Ok, so Altruists is the worst, Ren Seeks Help is the least bad. Fire Dogs 2 is second least bad. Naked Beach Frenzy is second worst due to irl stuff and personal taste(otherwise it's middle of the road third least bad), Onward and Upward is also middle of the road, and Stimpy's Pregnant is second or third worst.
"The Drawn Together gang fill in every blank with "penis" and laugh because it makes no sense-" I get it. "Then Captain Hero remembers that his sidekick is dead and starts crying." ...I don't get it. What's the connective tissue between the two, exactly? How does filling out an adlib with "penis" connect to "my sidekick is dead"? Am I missing something with that Drawn Together example?
The context is that Captain Hero’s sidekick died at the hands of a villain The Mad Libber. The note had to do something with her demise but at that moment in time all the characters are goofing off and putting in non serious answers. By the time they’re done everyone’s laughing and having a good time until Hero remembers why they were even doing the mad libs to begin with and starts crying. That’s basically the whole joke.
If I would recommend me one episode you should watch from the show, I would say, fire dogs 2. in my opinion, it’s the least terrible. it still has most of the issues I have with the series. But in my opinion, the jokes are a bit more funnier and Ralph Bakshi does a great performance. (Plus I’m not that big of a fan of Ren seeks help. Not because of the bandwagon because it’s just a bit too disturbing to watch. But I do have to agree it’s better than some of the others. It’s especially better than Stimpy’s pregnant)
UA-cam sucks for doing this to you. Anywho I forever love this video and I'm glad you reworked on it! And still glad the Ren Seeks Help hate train has died out, it's bearable (also Fire Dogs 2 kinda) unlike the rest of the APC episodes.
29:18 This bit feels like it only could've only worked if it was a punchline to two idiot characters doing idiot-things. The sheer shock and absurdity would have been great, if it started with like a different character going, "Okay, maybe spending the day with them won't be so bad-" and then it cuts to that scene, then panning back to the other character being aggravated on what they have to put up with.
In 1917, Pat Sullivan, the creator of Felix the Cat (at the time a huge cartoon star), once lured a 14-year-old girl to his office and, after bragging to a fellow animator what transpired, was immediately arrested and went to jail for one year. I have never knew the fact that UA-cam is absolutely dumb enough to copyright claim... royalty-free music? In a video about Ren And Stimpy's Adult Cartoon Party?! Come on, now... 🤦♀
After learning about the Succubus episode and everything about it, I’m glad this unimaginable nightmare of an episode wasn’t made. I’m curious if John K himself has regrets about that or what was on display in the APC.
He didn’t mention the succubus ep, but on his old blog he admitted to APC having pacing issues and saying some parts should’ve been toned down.
@@michaelyoungboy5792 There is that.
@@tavvyprods1275 It's been confirmed that John K had an extremely abusive father, meaning he really needed therapy to conquer he's demons.
Oh that's not good
Its very confusing how Spike TV tricked many people into thinking that it was the original Ren & Stimpy.and boy, was everyone except john K upset.
Yeah Ren and Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon is horrible!
Fun fact: Eric Bauza was actually the one who came up with the idea for that Saw sex scene
lol
I’d be curious about a take on ’Evil Ren’, probably one of the oppressive cartoons ever made. It’s not funny, has no real plot other than Ren being straight up sadistic to Stimpy, and seems to be the animated equivalent to a snuff film.
John K doesn't work best in 11. He usually waits til they're at least a teenager.
What does that have to do with John K's incompetence on pacing?

I was so stoked to see a childhood favorite of mine in a modern day cartoon for adults. I saw episode zero and was thrilled. Then i watched episode 1, then 2 then no more! It reminded me of the latter seasons of the old show which i basically just sat through
Modern Bugs Bunny as Stimpy in one of the worst reboots ever…. is interesting.
Yeah. Believe it or not, this was Eric Bauza debut (although I think he also did voices for Ripping Friends).
@@DeadPixel1105can't blame him, Billy west rejected reprising His role in APC because of 2 reasons:
1. He Hated John K. For basically being a jerk to him un múltiple ocasiones.
2. He read the scripts nad thought "this Will ruin muy career permanently"
So yeah, i don't want to imagine the hell that Eric had to go trough in orden to play stimpy in APC.
@@DeadPixel1105 So you're saying Eric Bauza is in the same boat with Billy West over John K's treatment of the two?
Man's best friend was actually aired in the UK a few times. I didn't grow up the show, since I'm a 2000s kid, but yeah around the mid 2010s I remember them putting re-runs of Ren and Stimpy on Nick/Nicktoons during the day.
Me: YOU'RE FUCKING INSANE! THAT'S WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU!!

Ren and Stimpy: Adult Party Cartoon represents the very bottom of the trenches, depths that had never been reached by any cartoon ever since...
Until Velma came along and managed to reach deeper depths.
……what about teen titans go?
Velma sucks and I hate nearly every aspect of it, but it’s never outright traumatized anybody. This is worse fs
As bad as Velma is, I feel like this series is worse just because of the behind the scenes stuff about it

“Masterb8 in front of your face.” That’s not a joke that’s assault…
"Onward & Upward" could've worked if the restaurant featured was a fancy pants restaurant known for being so cheap, that it refused to buy actual ingredients; instead deciding to "save it up" by using bodily fluids cooked in the form of foods. And R & S in an attempt to appear classy, reluctantly consume said bodily fluids. You can even have the sales guy scam artist (who is the manager of the restaurant) drop this line to explain things:
"Here at "La Grosse" we take an innovative approach to saving money! While poor people are spending their not-so-well-earned money on "actual food", La Grosse saves it BIG by using the amazing wonders of the human body to satiate it's customers!"
As for "Naked Beach Frenzy", cut back the sexual aspect by 50-70%. And have the women want to fuck Stimpy while they ignore Ren. With Stimpy innocently assuming that they are just interested in him non-sexually. A jealous Ren tries to get their attention and shenanigans ensue.
Or for Naked Beach Frenzy's case, bring on Frank Castle aka the Punisher to do a Manhunt-styled Execution at APC!Ren.
I hate to say you can't make something work but if there ever was a plot that you can't make work, its onward and upward.
I like how we're coming up with far more creative ideas than the writers did because they presumed spit, snot, puke, piss, and shit are all funny in and of themselves.
thank GOD. when i was younger i thought something was wrong with me thinking ren seeks help wasnt THAT bad and the best of apc
I was not ready for how good your impressions of Ren and Stimpy were going to be
Imagine using Ren and Stimpy as a device to bring someone you mentally scarred back into your life. It’s honestly kinda disturbing when you think about one of the most influential cartoons in history being used like that. It’s already bad enough with John himself, but using the project that made him a big name in animation just makes you look at the series in an uncomfortable perspective, had the episode been fully written and aired.
hoping that the video stays up, quality stuff as always
actually billy just did not want to work with john ever again when this series came out from what i always heard
Ren: What kind of a psychologist are you!?
Mr. Horse: PSYCHOLOGIST!? Are you nuts!? I'm a horse!
Mr. Horse: You crazy son of a bitch! I'm gonna beat the living hell out of you!
😂😂😂😂
Probably the funniest lines in the entire show.
Mr. HORSE: YOU CRAZY SON OF A BENCH! IM GONNA BEAT THE LIVING HELL OUT OF YOU
Bad writing aside.
“When put in a cage you find ways to pass the time, when set free you don’t know how to survive and you die.”
This saying I just made up essentially encapsulates any form of creativity.
Especially for John K who didn’t have that cage to lock his imagination in leading to the yes men who wanted more viewers to just let him run free until his ideas died out in the open 7 episodes in for all to see.
I bet a lot of people who saw Adult Party Cartoon never saw Ren and Stimpy the Same way again.
facts. my sister was a big fan of the original, then i showed her ren seeks help, and she can’t even look at the original anymore lol
@@MichaelMixerMasonGASS I recommend Rocko's modern Life or Invader Zim as an alternative.
Exactly.
And other Spumco members.
23:43, the meme.
Dont forget those instant milkshake type mixer machines at some gas stations that had a giant lcd screen with John K. Animation on it.
0:14 FAMILY GUY IS GEN Z CHILDHOOD TRAUMA
John K needs therapy

That's insane!
@@pinkpugginz, yeah, crazy times, it’s hard to imagine now, but besides ecchi there were also a lot of MTV shows with rather explicit themes and scenes, and all this in the afternoon on weekdays, perfect time.

element you forgot: i believe Man's Best Friend aired in a three-pack with Big House Blues and Fire Dogs
That's how the DVD pairs the episodes. In the Army aired with Powdered Toast Man and Rubber Nipple Salesmen was paired with Out West.
@@JessePorkman I remember being able to watch reruns of the show on TV before they were released on DVD, and the orders of the episodes were actually the same as how they were shown for the latter.
37:10 That was very much the narrative a decade ago before all the allegations came out and before Cans Without Labels.
Backed up by the fact that, A. Executive Meddling has ruined plenty of series, and B. The Ripping Friends(which behind the scenes was John K at his least bad and the executives at their worst in regards to him).
The Only 2 things that I aprreciated in these series are the Sound Effects and the Music in the Background
Maybe the sound effects are stolen from the APM library in addition to repeating Roger Roger's theme in all episodes
25:25 in the other countries that aired the second half of the series Naked Beach Frenzy had no problem with length since it was 22 minutes, Altruists was spit into two 22 minutes episodes, and Stimpy's Pregnant was split into two episodes. ...I don't get it.
