Not only is he the model TE for the GIANTS, he is a role model for the entire NFL. Not one TE in today's game, can claim that Mark hasn't already accomplished. Not only did he achieve those accomplishments, he also stayed humble through the entire journey. A great role model for all future He's in the NFL!
I know a guy we drafted in the 3rd or 4th round kinda reminding me of young Bavaro we had shockey n boss both at a high-level but never on mark Bavaros level
anyone who gets their broken jaw wired and then goes back into play and ends up eating food through a straw embodies Giants' football...the most complete TE!!
To this day, Bravaro is the ideal that I look for in a TE along with Gronkowski. Powerful blockers who had the agility and hands to also be great receivers.
Bavaro did pretty much everything well. He had good hands, he could block, run over people, and above all he was really tough with a high threshold for pain.
Wow, that was Great‼️It brought tears to my eyes. We had waited soooo long for those 2 Superbowls. I enjoyed the Eli years but I had been watching since 1961 and those 80’s teams were special. Thanks Bob and Mark😎
One of Coach Parcells' and my favortite players. A great Giant who epitomized what we fans have come to know as "Giants Football.'' Excelled in every facet that goes in to becoming a premier tight end. Tough as nails that should be a Hall of Famer. I was at that Steelers preseason game played in Three Rivers Stadium on a Friday night. As a Giants fan I was horrified when Zeke got hurt. He was great in his own right. I agree. Daniel has the perfect mentor to emulate.
Rambo would have been a shoe-in if he could have played a little longer. I still imitate him when he catches a touchdown: Crosses himself and lays it down gently.
A Long time Giants fan going back when I saw Fran Tarkenton played and they had a TE that was very good - in Bob Tucker. Before that Arron Thomas but Mark Bavaro will always be my favorite of all time and the toughest..Of course being from Danvers Mass..
Been a Giants fan since 1958 and either watched or listen to every single game since then and Mr. Bravaro you are the greatest tight end the Giants ever had.
I followed the Giants since the 1960's. 1986 was a special year. We had to wait so long for a championship team. They've won something like 8 championships all together. Four of them before there was a super bowl. I was too young to remember the previous 4 so I'm grateful for the 4 super bowls.
One Tight end I enjoyed watching. Hard nose, tough and never anything to discredit himself or the organization. Anyone can look at him and learn something awesome football player but a better person. Go Giants the only thing his career was too short. Hall of famer in my book every time.
LT #1, #2 Bavaro. Hall of Fame level TE that unfortunately will never get in because of the injuries. I have multiple non Giants fan friends who are fan of the Skins, Boys and Eagles who all say the same thing about him, " I wish he was on our team" they all loved him but of course hated him at the same time, lol.
Kadarius Toney (a.k.a Yung Joka) wears Barvaro's jersey number 89, and still hasn't showed that he's a reliable receiver for the Giants 😒 (He's too prone to injury)
More Giants fans than not will tell you that he is their favorite player of all time. Would have been a HOFer if not for injuries. And we even forgive him for playing for the Eagles...
Mark Bavaro was a tough dude. Broke his jaw and played through? Not like Gronk--stub his toe and be out for the season! I'm with Parcells--I was glad he was on our team.
Nah, I loved Bravaro, but have to give props to Gronkowski. He took a lot of hits before he slowly began to break down. He was not "soft" by any means.
Not even close. Not in the Hall of Fame. A good tight end, but let's be real here. Under 5000 yards receiving, just 351 catches lifetime aand 39 touchdowns. He had very 4 good seasons max. You don't give credit to at least 15 tight ends that had better careers.
@@gpipeline Until then, none of them existed. In his day he was the best. Lighten up the rules like in today's game, you might be speaking a different tune. Ronnie Lott would be a penalty machine in todays game. Ronnie is a HoFer headhunter, yet got dragged by Bavaro for 12 yards having help from others when the money was on the line. Bavaro dished it out and took it from the best when the rules were not in his favor.
Carl Banks used to lean on the Top of the door frame waiting at the Hotel they stayed at the night before the game. I worked as a bartender at events the hotel had, maybe a Wedding; Bar Mitzvah, or corporate Holiday Parties. All nice guys mostly, but LT got harassed sometimes by women hoping to meet him. They didn’t take rejection very well sometimes! Brad Van Pelt had them lining up also.
@@gpipeline what's your point? Toney is supposedly a football player that constantly misses games for ridiculous reasons. Unlike Mark, who is true professional athlete dedicated to his team.
Absolutely loved Bavaro. He was definitely an HOF caliber player. Unfortunately injuries cut short his career and that's the main reason he's not in Canton. He just didn't do it long enough. Different league then too so his numbers don't look great compared to modern TEs. But man did I love how he played the game. Definitely in my personal HOF.
I used to work at the Meadowlands back in the 1980's & let me tell you something mark Bavaro was a beast, he stood 6'4" & about 235 but he was built like a brick shithouse, I worked as security for Burns security and I used to see the players after every practice, Taylor, banks ,bavaro,, Morris, simms, Marshall, Carson, I used to see them before each game on Sundays when they were home, they knew me and never forgot them they were a great great group of guys, I have autographs of most of the players the Giant's had in 1985- 86 the superbowl yr that they won over Denver, these guys were great to me I'll never forget them never & I'm a huge giants fan also since I was 6 yrs old, LETS GO BIG BLUE GIANTS FOREVER.
Loved Bavaro but if Shockey doesn't break his leg in week 14 vs the Skins, we have an easier playoff run and he goes on to be an even better TE than Mark. Shockey was a better athlete and just as tough as Bavaro. Bavaro and Shockey are the best 2 TEs in Giants history.
Mark Bavaro is, and I always will be my favorite giant!

As far as I’m concerned he is a hall of famer
I know a guy we drafted in the 3rd or 4th round kinda reminding me of young Bavaro we had shockey n boss both at a high-level but never on mark Bavaros level
A good Christian who went to Mass every day, like Vince Lombardi.

Love this guy. Still wear his number at every home game.
Mark is my fav Giant!
A Big Blue Legend.....I still remember watching him Drag Ronnie Lott for about 15 yards ...
Bavaro... Legend ✊
He is my favorite player ever to put on the the Red White and Blue for the GIANTS.
Mark is the Prototype for what a TE should be in every way.
anyone who gets their broken jaw wired and then goes back into play and ends up eating food through a straw embodies Giants' football...the most complete TE!!
What a player and teammate. Held himself to the highest standards and achieved them.
I was a kid watching you Mark... LEGEND 💪
I was 14 in '86 - this guy was my first "man crush". 🤟

I hope you're having as much fun this current season as much I am!
I grew up with that Giants team and Bavaro is in my Pantheon. I died a little inside when he went to Philly, but never thought less of him.

One of my favorite Offensive players of ALL TIME.....Still own his jersey
Our best tight end
I watch these old highlights and my childhood flashes right before my eyes
Mark Bavaro os one of my all time favorite players.

Greatest Tight End Giants History, Daniel Bellinger should live up to this.
Oh yeah let's go new era shout out to my OGs that pave the way.

Class act, some of my most memorable years as a Giants fan

Mark Bavaro……. a good man
They broke the mold after Bavaro
Love, love love this awesome football player
The catch against the 49ers 👍👍👍👍

Not even close to being a HOF'r. Had just 3 very good seasons.
Just love how every clip is him with 3-5 dudes hanging off him.
Very rarely could one guy take him down.
Got his jersey. I get a lot of compliments
My Grandfather and I were Jets fans but when the game ended, we'd put the Giants on just to watch Bavaro. Tough as Nails!
Very humble but tough, glad he was a G-men
All time favorite players
Is it just me that thinks when I see that #89 on Tony I just think he should be stripped of it?
LT #1, #2 Bavaro. Hall of Fame level TE that unfortunately will never get in because of the injuries. Still the best TE
💙💙💙💪
Great video. When were the interviews recorded?
Can't spell bravado without Bavaro
I so love my team
Kadarius Toney (a.k.a Yung Joka) wears Barvaro's jersey number 89, and still hasn't showed that he's a reliable receiver for the Giants 😒 (He's too prone to injury)
He won’t be wearing that number for the Jersey Giants anymore
He said, "the Giants were coming out there for their practice." while he was in college. It's the grain of salt experience.
More Giants fans than not will tell you that he is their favorite player of all time. Would have been a HOFer if not for injuries. And we even forgive him for playing for the Eagles...
"The last time i told you something you forgot to remember ...remember ...?".... Parcells a fool ....😂😂😂😂
my all time favorite just like mattingly with the yankees
Both should be in the HOF!!
@@BH02377 only Mattingly
Both
played with a Broken Jaw, scores a td...ENOUGH SAID!!

Nah, I loved Bravaro, but have to give props to Gronkowski. He took a lot of hits before he slowly began to break down. He was not "soft" by any means.
Gronk is a first ballot future HOF'r with rings who had a much better career than Mark Bavaro
Bavaro was the best all around tight end the NFL has ever seen.

Hurt me bad to see him in an Eagles jersey, bad.
Hard to tackle. Good hands. Great blocker. Tough.

Now we have guys like Toney who sits when he has a belly ache.
Toney's a wide receiver
@@gpipeline what's your point? Toney is supposedly a football player that constantly misses games for ridiculous reasons. Unlike Mark, who is true professional athlete dedicated to his team.
Is there any logic to explain why he is NOT in he HOF?
Yeah look at his numbers
Longevity basically. A lot of shots to the knees from guys afraid to tackle him.
@@gpipeline Nothing wrong with his numbers for the years he played and amount of time he played. Wasn't a hands off pass oriented game back then.

The respect he has from his teammates and from the guys he played against is probably more important to him than making it into the Hall.
A shame he had the knee issues , would have gone to the HOF.
