DSG clearing Mitch in the rat corner at 24:35 was surprising out of context, and to OXG themselves in-game.
But if you paid attention to the whole game, it wasn't a surprise at all. DSG was always aware of this corner.
Round 2 @ 5:17 - KAYO knife sees nothing, but Clear still double checks with a Vandal wall bang. Could surprise anyone since it's a round 2 vandal.
Round 4 @ 11:21 - Same KAYO knife, but this time it's Exalt who clears it since he entries with his pop flash.
Round 6 @ 16:37 - Setup is different because of Viper Pit, but DSG does due diligence. KAYO knifes close, which also scans rat corner. To double check, they send a prowler to clear out around rat corner area.
Round 9 @ 24:35 - OXG changed their defending setup right after a timeout and finally attempts to use the rat corner to surprise DSG.
Round 10 @ 27:20 - KAYO knifes close, which also scans rat corner. Knife sees nothing. DSG double checks with Fade-eye and sees nothing. They don't bother to triple check anymore with guns since Exalt thinks "Yeah... OXG probably won't use the rat corner at that point anyway" and prioritizes rushing u-hall.
Last Round @ 31:25 - Clear and Exalt clears the corner by wall banging. Last time they tried to enter the same Viper pit, DSG got flushed. So they use Fade-ult + prowler to force out skuba and secure the site.
The reason why OXG and Mitch got caught by surprise is because of two things:
1.) DSG Clear and Exalt are the B-entry players. They immediately noticed this Viper wall since Round 2 and have been so aware ever since.
2.) None of the OXG players know that DSG always checks that corner. At Round 2 and 4 no one was on site to SEE HOW DSG clears and entries on B site. On Round 6, skuba was more focused on the chaos in the pit. Round 9 comes and no one could relay this info to Mitch and dies without using util as an initiator.

21:39 I wish some attention was given to this awesome flash peek. Exalt peeks before the flash pops and his team peeks after. It's pretty much guaranteed trade, at worst. If Randy turns the flash, exalt will kill him and live. If he doesn't turn the flash, even if he wins the fight vs exalt, he's gonna be blind af when the flash pops. Ik I know it's not new, but it's still cool.

I'm very confused about some of OXG's decision-making. For example, why is Fade holding from water when they already have 3 mid in the first pistol round? At a minimum, she should be keeping a slight eye on A from A-Link, just so that they can gather info. But if not that, sit B Link? She's serving no purpose sitting there and she's too far away to trade. What's the point?
You see this a lot through this whole match from their entire team. Sacrificing info or pressure on specific parts of the map so that they can gamble and catch someone off guard? Doesn't at all seem very thought out.

What a great fking video that explains the complexity of Valorant. I personally don't understand much whenever I watch their matches because all I care about is who's fragging and who's dying lol, but this video taught me a lot about how pro Valorant really works. I hope you make more of this in the future since Toast isn't uploading much about DSG(yet) in his UA-cam channel.

That's an absolutely insane analysis. i don't play valorant. i know some fps games which have strategy but not this one. it's too deep, almost like a strategy building game. players need to provoke, defend, information, etc.
