Glad we could help! Hope you check out our other Catskills videos. If you haven’t already, it’s worth investing in the NYNJTC Catskills maps. They offer them on the Avenza app and you can buy hard copies on Amazon at amzn.to/42cCRhI
Glad you enjoyed and it sounds like quite the hike and camping trip! Thanks for watching the video and hope you check out our others. We’re happy to help give back to our trails and parks!
Thank you Paul. Really appreciate that coming from you, and all the great videos that you have! Hunter is definitely on the list for your next Catskills visit!! Whether it’s a snowshoe or a hike, you’ll be up there.
Great video! We loved our hike up Hunter. We’ve only hiked Hunter and Slide in the Catskills as we needed them both for the NE 115. We’d like to hike more in the Catskills. Maybe when we return from Mexico in the spring.
Both really nice mountains here - but there’s a ton of variety and actually several much more difficult smaller peaks. The Devils Path is always an adventure! Thanks for watching and we hope you enjoy our other videos too. If you do find yourself coming to the Catskills say hi!
@@ckdanekfan3397 much older. There’s plenty of info out there on Catskill geology - here’s a good place to start www.geo.hunter.cuny.edu/bight/catskill.html
I love fishing those Falls! Thank you so much for your commitment to the lean too and taking the time to make this video.
Thanks so much for watching and enjoying! Hope you check out our other Catskills videos.
This was an excellent and very informative video, not a single map showed lean tos on this trail, just campsites. Greatly appreciated!

Went boys and I stayed at this lean-to. On the loop around a nasty storm blew in. Amazing experience!!

I love that bucket spring. And I will never stop raving about the quality of the trail signs out there. Splendid!
That’s gotta be the best spring in the Catskills - always running strong - and some great water.
Hi Jeff, great video and lots of good information. Thank you.

@@HikerTrashHusbands we definitely will. Likewise if you visit the Adirondacks.
How long does this take
Depending on your hiking speed, somewhere between 4.5-6.5 hours.
Were those rock formations artificial or natural?
Not sure which one you are referring to, but everything along this trail in terms of rocks, cliffs, and overlooks are all natural features.
@@HikerTrashHusbands well they look cubical shaped. Nature can do that?
@@ckdanekfan3397 yes, the Catskills are all sedimentary rocks that break off in layers and in blocks.
@@HikerTrashHusbands sedment? They must be youngish then, 2 million years or so?
