Props to Ömer on delivering the kickstarter in spite of the insanely difficult import costs in Türkiye. As we say when one of our countrymen show up on internet: As bayrakları 🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷
I am a backer of this KCM set, and received my package last month. It took me about 3-5 hours to set it up and made it work with my N4 Pro. Most of the setup spent on reconfiguring printer.cfg, macro for start print, end print and xyz offset then many testing. Although the print quality is great but it is not for everyone because of the lack of instruction on how to reconfig your printer, which make sense and understandable as each printer has its own unique property and component. I have to do many trial and error, and luckily I haven't crash my bed plate yet. If you have a creality machines, you are in luck. There are already some pre-config files on their github, but dont expect every printers. In summary, if you are long time klipper users and dont mind to fine tune printer configure yourself, you should be fine with this KCM set, and it prints really good. It is so good that I bought a second set for my SV08, and can't wait for shipping.
As someone who is relatively new to the 3d printing world (got my first printer about 2 years ago), it blows my mind to see how quickly this industry progresses. I love seeing all the new takes on multi-color systems, extruders, print styles. It just gives me that warm fuzzy feeling.
Good to see they’re making progress. I had a nice chat with Omer at CES in January. It’s less easy than most people think to scale up a product at a Chinese contract manufacturer. Sounds like they were able to navigate through that. I wish them every success.
I found out about this yesterday and watched the video from last year. Very pleased to see this amazing product has developed so much in such a short time. I'm really glad there's a user friendly way to get multi material printing without having to lock myself into a specific companies ecosystem.
Kickstarter backer here... STILL WAITING. Got a tracking number, UPS never got the package, contacted them (they were quick to respond) and got a second tracking number... and it's been a week and UPS still hasn't received the package. So I can't say I'm happy...
@JacksMacintosh , yes it is much smaller than the actual ferry. 😉 He could have said model. I think, it was possible to see that it was printed in sections; not a one-piece print. He was kind not to ask how long it took to print the pieces or use a "will it float" joke.
HAD to say istanbul.. now I'm thinking of that song.. (I don't have anything against the song, but getting it stuck in your head tends to be a problem 😩)
I received mine a few weeks ago, still in the box while I get caught up on other projects. I did check the Discord and it would be great if there were sections on specific printer setups. It would make it much easier and more attractive to potential buyers if they could see that someone had installed it on the printer they have. I have two Rat Rig V-core 3 that I would like to convert, but could not find any specifics
As a backer, in its current state it is not quite ready for mainstream IMO, and that's because it needs better instructions. I have 2 of the kits, each with 8 extruders. I've had my stuff since 11/14, but yet to have it going yet on either of my machines. The instructions have not been clear, and it has not been a simple plug in play. First I had to root both of my machines, and installing Openneptune4 hasn't be nearly as straight forward as my rooting my K1 Max. If you are new to Klipper and 3D printing, this is not for you. It has been a total PITA setting up on my end. At the moment, It's only a Universal multi-material setup if you know what you're doing.
@@fatihkazmduymaz1251 I just may have to save up to get one of these and breathe new life into an old seldom used printer. Thanks for the confirmation!
Im a backer of this and have yet to get it to work i will say all the parts are solid and well engineered but trying to get this to work on anything but a creality machine is a nightmare, this is not a beginner frindly tool dont expect to plug this in and have working multicolour, at the moment you need a high level knowledge of klipper and 3d printers in general as you may need to flash your emmc or you might have to solder some pins on your boards ,all the instruction of for creality machines so they dont help. however what i will say is from the discord the peaple who have evently got this to work have said print quality is great, and once all these issues are fixed i can see companey making there own compatible heads for this so you can just get the emc and extruders to add more colours down the line yes i belive it has that mush potentail (well i did back it), i will say again if your a beginner that want plug and play stay clear ,if you like to tinker with thing then this could be for you
I appreciate the effort, but unfortunately, it’s still a very expensive system. Especially compared to the recently released multi-color printers, it doesn’t seem to stand much of a chance. Yes, it works much faster than those, but it’s just too expensive. Particularly with Bambu’s new printer, I believe we’ll see a system that works quickly and with significantly less waste (perhaps none at all). So, it seems like this impressive work doesn’t have much of a future.
China has the mass manufacturing capacity, whether the quality is good or bad depends mostly on the company that did the design. If they pay for cheap manufacturing you'll get cheap manufacturing, if they pay more you'll get better stuff, that's it.
Now imagine who pays the higher price nobody wants to pay, thats right, the chinese workers. I dunno, Prusa does everything in Europe with their labor laws etc... Cool idea tho.
The average Chinese worker has it great, they only have to pay 25% of their yearly salary, the average Chinese salary to buy the cheapest vehicle, we workers in Canada have to pay 100% of our yearly salary for the cheapest vehicle. They have it good in China and enjoying good economy, and people can afford to buy stuff, unlike here.
@@mikejones-vd3fg actually they are going through a consumption crisis which suggests either people do not in fact have the money to buy stuff or they just don't which probably has something to do with the levels of freedom and amount of hours not doing work
already at 0:20 i see layershifting and so much stringing and blending of filaments that is just horrible.. and this he wants to promote? its barely in alpha stage. cool idea, poor execution.
@@reyalPRON when i was there at Formnext, one of them had failed already. They were also not really interested in answering questions. Also the purge tower was insane
As others have mentioned, this is old footage. Additionally, that doesn't look like layer shifts. It looks more like some bad slicer settings, which aren't likely related to the multicolor system.

Thanks a bunch for sharing your experience.
Any idea how it compares with Bambu Lab's X1 Carbon with the multi-material?
@@ddegn forgot to mention, there are NO poops and open source. These are 2 advantages as compare to BBL, but not out of box experience as a trade off
Amazing! Thanks so much Joel. Always pleasure to hanging with you!
Hey man, great conversation with Joel. I love the Istanbul ferry model!

Yeah turns out when patent trolls stuff expires you start to see a decent amount of rapid innovation.

Goid grief I am stunned! Great to see Creality becoming part of this with their printers, enabling multi colours! Laurie. NZ😊
Funny to see giant Joel next to regular sized people
As someone who is building a DIY 3D printer that’s also a tool changer. This is a really cool video
You'r amazing Coprint3D 😍🌈
It looks amazing, I ordered it right away, I can't wait to try it.
It feels like a bigger MMU with shorter filament unloding paths. I hope it gets adapted to many machines.
that is insane!!! one of the coolest thing's I've ever seen!!!!
This ferry should be a new benchy😂
8 tubes going straight into the head. How long before Bambu adds this to the A1 series and allows us to use two AMS Lites?
Holy ship that boat is giant!
Ferry is a type of a ship, not a boat.
@ huh, I did not know that. What makes one and not the other?
In any case, “holy ship that ship is giant” doesn’t sound as good

I ordered my CoPrint last month, looking forward to receiving it. I plan to install it on a N4 Plus or my SV08, not sure which yet.
do it on the Voron...I mean SV08 to take advantage of the speed.

Any update on the coöperation with Sovol for the SV08?
that partnership was secured previously supposedly is coming out but others have made it happen
There are too many cables, filaments and Bowden tubes for my liking, I would prefer something enclosed like the AMS
