    Paints used to complete the resin statue were a mix of vallejo acrylic paints, Army Painter Speed paints, Vallejo Xpress colors and Citadel Contrast Paints. These paints are popular among the slapchop painting method where it is a variation on zenithal speed painting.
    The Iwata eclipse airbrush was also used to create smooth blends and glazes for this concept art.

    I'm not a pro by any means. This is better than probably anything I could ever hope to paint. So far be it from me to give you any pointers. That being said one thing I would say is the best thing I've seen for painting eyes is to add a small amount of uv resin to the eye and spread it with a toothpick before curing it. Oh and I would have given the cat slimmer pupils. Otherwise amazing!

    The result was awesome, but for the first time I've seen somebody painting eyes like that. Eyes are always the biggest problem for me.
    I've bought some of leather punchers set to keep the eyes marked on the model before i start painting. It helps to set them on the right position on the model (to look left, right or straight).
    Then the colour of Iris and at the end, I use a toothpick to get a small bit of paint and place it just in the middle, as brushes has this weird tendency to change shapes when u press it a bit too much. For a white dot reflection I use sharpen toothpick as well. Thanks to this even on the small piece u can achieve perfect round white dots and it's worth to experiment with 2 or 3 dots next to each other as a light sources may vary depending on the surroundings. Worth trying, it helped me much as my hands are not that steady as yours :)

    I moved away from milliput on resin prints to use the printer resin mixed with baby powder. Loot studios has a really good video showing how to use it. It is extremely quick as with an UV torch immediately dries and you can move on to the next session. One of my models for a client was a Malenia figure - the mini was about 30cm high and about 40cm wide due to the wings. On the first iteration I had to cut the wings into 2 parts and connect everything. I ended up gap filling and pegging parts with clips for about 8h-s with additional wait times for curing costing me about 3-4 working days.
    The second time I printed it for an other client, I used the method by loot studio and ended up doing it in about 1.5-2h and I did not have to wait at all - after washing it a bit and drying it with a hair dryer I was able to immediately prime it.
    I wish I had known about this sooner! If you have the time look it up and try it out! It is also way easier to work the mini afterwards as the filling is the same material as the mini!

    • @TinyLittles3D
      @TinyLittles3D  4 місяці тому

      I've tried gap filling with only resin before, but haven't tried it mixing baby powder. I've actually watched that video but just lazy to go and buy baby powder. I might give it a try once I finish all the milliput I got. Thanks for the advice!

    • @HuntersOA
      @HuntersOA 4 місяці тому

      @@TinyLittles3D I have a ton of miliput on stock - I stockpiled a bunch when I had some orders and it was looking like I'll be needing a lot :D I have I believe 6 "rolls" unopened and 2 opened. I use it for all kinds of household repairs now :D It is good for piping, fixing broken stuff :D I used miliput on the vacuum my wife broke, as well as used it on the motor housing for our automatic gates. We also used it to ad-hoc fix a leakage in a radiator. Don't wait for it to run out - it is a nice thing to have at hand. Baby powder can be acquired in any drugstore / drogeriemarkt / household whatever / supermarket :D Give it a go, you will be blown to smithereens I can guarantee that! It has a little bit of a learning curve though so be prepared. It needs proper work ethic - same with how you have to handle the printer.
