I remember when they were “small” I was playing in a pop punk band 30 mins from Walnut Creek and our bass player heard their 1st EP . He wanted them to play with us so he had them come out and play on a bill we were headlining. Destroyed every band there and stole the show. Best local show I ever got to be apart of. Nicest dudes I’d ever met.
I just saw TSSF 5 days ago, they played their first show on tour here in SLC, UT with Microwave, Mom Jeans and Joyce Manor! This is the second time I've seen them live, and I've been a fan since I found them in highschool around 2014. This is a band I can always go back to and enjoy all over again, and I personally loved the change of their sound with Proper Dose, despite hearing a lot of negative feedback about the album from some of my friends. Can't wait to see what the future of TSSF holds!
Personally think their pinback cover of Loro is so underrated. The whole vibe of that song is so claiming. Been my top song on Spotify 3 years in a row actually 🌚
Nate The Mate lmao, I’ve seen them live I think 5 times now. Seeing the glass live is on another level. It’s probably subjective since WYDS is my fav album of theirs, but that song is an absolute banger and the chorus/outro get me every single time. Awesome video man 🤘🏼
I remember my buddy showing me USAD, and after hearing "Roam" I was blown away. Being a kid and growing up listening to Simple Plan, Sum 41, Good Charlotte. So being in the middle of highschool, this band completely took me by storm. Still one of my favorites today. I'm glad I've grown up into my early adulthood when this band. Great video Nate!
It’s weird hearing TSSF be grouped with bands like Neck Deep. When TSSF first released USAD and then WYDS I remember Neck Deep came out and everyone shit on them for being a TSSF rip off lmao. They were good, but no one thought they would be that big. They ended up changing their sound though and then got huge. USAD released my freshman year of college and it was THE SHIT. WYDS is my favorite album from them though. Totally agree about Proper Dose, when that came out it was exactly what I was looking for at my age. I’ve always felt like I’ve grown up with TSSF since we are the same age. Proper Dose was perfect for me at the time.
Their first show in Manila was worth the fckn wait! Apr 15 2019 was a day me and my newly wed wife (Got married 2 days before the show) will never ever forget. Both of us listened to TSSF for as long as our relationship (7 years) together. And Its all love now 💓
So glad I found The Story So Far when I did but I'm also super jealous I didn't get to have their music be the soundtrack to my teenage years. Regardless, one of the best bands out there today and they've been in my top five for some time now. Hope the dudes keep going for a long time because I can't wait to be in my forties and shouting along to Heavy Gloom and The Glass at a TSSF show. Also, newer subscriber here and wanted to say your videos are rad, Nate! Your positivity is contagious and I love how much respect you have for the bands you talk about.

Awesome vid, tssf is God-like. Very consistent history for that band. I remember hearing placeholder and instantly falling in love with it in 2011 but hating their other song since it was "all yelling". Now I love every one of their songs, even Loro that cover that no one cares about. Little did we know they would be one of the most iconic leaders of that decade of pop punk. Amazing stuff
lmao dude. im friends with a couple of the boys that did heart to heart and i love how you skipped over them in the "fall/winter headliner" part, lowkey made me sub haha
In 2010 an unsuspecting me went to a show in Glastonbury, ct in an american legion. The Story So Far blew me away as well as State Champs, so grateful i went to that show. Crazy to think how much both bands have grown since then.
nice summary of my new favorite band. got into them a bit 5-10 years ago but it wasnt until the last year that they became my favorite pop punk band. funny how you talk about falling in love with the band @ age 14 cause of the relatable lyrics. i'm 30 and the lyrics couldn't be more relevant to me. think they taught me how to let go
I love your videos, dude. I also noticed you started to use fewer edits - which I consider to be a good thing. The Polish Am Soc Club 5/29 in Vero Beach was by far the most intense performance I've ever been apart of. It was almost like a house show or a show at a bar. The stage was like a step. At first there was re-entry.... But you know half of us TSSF fans like to partake in substances that can leave a lingering smell. Like halfway through the show right before they came on they stopped re-entry. Well....I was coming back from my car. I put up my only argument. I was outside when this was announced. The security guy was like nope. My friend was still inside so I couldn't give up and go home and suffer some more. I sat outside. There was other people. Before TSSF came up I guess the guard felt bad and he said "Hey man get in there till you wanna leave". I thanked him so many times and tried to give him a $5. When you've been preparing for a show by memorizing the lyrics to what their set list should be, it takes the experience to the next level. You're not afraid if all sudden the mike is being put in front of you. I had never been so ready for a performance. Top ten night of my life in my book. Besides the night being amazing. you missed a huge part. Sam Pura, the man behind all their records. Sam produced all the TSSF full lengths. he’s the reason why those records are the way they are. amazing songwriting and production.
TSSF is pretty mysterious. Appreciated considering how popular they are. I loved them for a long time and have been influenced by a large potion of their catalogue. Watching your video really does bring up a good point they they ran SO HOT for so long. The time in-between their 3rd and 4th album has really kicked up a lot of speculation. I did catch them on their Proper Dose Tour with Turnover, Citizen & Movements and you can even gather from their performance and specifically a small explanation from Parker in the middle of the set that the band has really been addressing other matters in their lives. None the less, they got up and they got touring. In an extremely simplified way, I could easily imagine these guys just needing some time to gig less and maybe evaluate the status of their band for what ever reason. Go them!!!
This entire video sums up the perfection of the back to the beach festival this year that travis Barker started ! The lineup is so 2 decades of punk/ska/poppunk 🤤 ! I’ve called story so far the blink 182 of gen z and younger millennials for a minute 🤣
I want to see them perform 680 south one more time. Not a bad video though man. I think they kinda hit their stride during the supply tour with Man O who was pretty hot at the time too.
Agreed. If you know TSSF, the lyrics written in the past, and Parker's issues with opioids/lean, you understand the evolution of Parker's mindset and how Parker and TSSF as a whole matured monumentally, in every aspect. And for that reason I agree wholeheartedly.
Aaron Grimes okay thank you! I really thought I was crazy, bc I was researching and all the sources said otherwise haah. I specially remember that being the first single as well. Appreciate you, Aaron :)
Thanks man! appreciate the response! I may be wrong I just remember hearing that single first before those other two great video btw. keep up the good shit!@@NateTheMateForever
@@NateTheMateForever dont know, Proper Dose has 3-4 solid songs but I´m more into that aggressive, finger pointing stuff. The change from their 2011 - 2015 music to this is a little bit to much. Maybe its just the fact that Parker wants to be a new member of Oasis ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Under Soil and Dirt: 8/10 What You Don't See: 8.5/10 Self Titled: 15/10 Proper Dose: 9/10 Last two albums really hit close to home for very obvious reasons and both helped me cope with the situations I was put in at the time of each albums release. I guess that's why I have a soft spot for LP 3&4
their self titled is literally a masterpiece of an album. its so well put together both lyrically and musically. at the time it came out, the lyrics really hit close to home.

Christopher Mendoza yoooo! I love them so much!!! I’ve seen them so many times and they’re actually coming to Bakersfield this month I believe :) either this month or next! Outstanding band, Future Fire will always be a fav :)
@@NateTheMateForever Thanks for the comment back brotha! And thank you for supporting the band! Just dropped a hot new album to put them on the map! Yes mate, they are coming there soon! Haha I'm honored to say I've been friends with these guys for over 10 years now, solid dudes. Try to chat it up with them if you ever get the chance, they would love it! Take care mate, look forward to your next uploads!
Seeing them with coheed and cambria was so dope.
Yes, thank you for this!
Love u nate. But bro, u got to get some leave in conditioner for your waves man. Its a 10 miracle leave in conditioner would be a good one for you. U can buy it online or at a local ulta. Just trying to help a mate. Love ur stuff!
Anyone know why the dog is on the cover of the Songs of EP?
WHEN WERE NFG on their way out ?theyve been a solid band for the last 22 years ?
What do you think of the disrupt festival lineup w/ the story so far??
you missed a huge part.
Go them!!!
Lionties agree with everything u said mate!
Do you like the band In her own words? They give me the story so far sort of vibes. Check em out if you dont know em!
Parker I’ve never listened to them actually!
@@NateTheMateForever peep this brotha ua-cam.com/video/0e7KsFu-HBY/v-deo.html
They played Daughters here in Manila last April 15, tssf forever!
This entire video sums up the perfection of the back to the beach festival this year that travis Barker started ! The lineup is so 2 decades of punk/ska/poppunk 🤤 ! I’ve called story so far the blink 182 of gen z and younger millennials for a minute 🤣
Pines & Tides heck yeah matey :)
Yo I’d love to hear a hardcore punk record from them. That’d be so dope.
Alexander Siegel Music definitely! Parker’s project called Snarl is tight
The Story So Far - Wrightsville Beach
I want to see them perform 680 south one more time.
Not a bad video though man. I think they kinda hit their stride during the supply tour with Man O who was pretty hot at the time too.
The cover of loro by TSSF is absolutely underrated!!!!!!!!!!
Morgan Foster is their friend not a group he filled in on Bass for Kelen for a while back in the USAD years
9:30 I care about the cover ;(
hahahahah ily mate, this made me laugh
Thanks mate lyt!
sad summer fest being cancelled this year brought actual tears to my eyes :'(
while you were sleeping, freeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaakkkkkkiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnggggggggggg siiiiiiiiicccckkkkkkkkkkk
Parker still miss the first band him which is SNARL!
Proper Dose is their best record. Don’t @ me
Agreed. If you know TSSF, the lyrics written in the past, and Parker's issues with opioids/lean, you understand the evolution of Parker's mindset and how Parker and TSSF as a whole matured monumentally, in every aspect. And for that reason I agree wholeheartedly.
they released "Nerve" before "Heavy Gloom" and "Solo"
Aaron Grimes okay thank you! I really thought I was crazy, bc I was researching and all the sources said otherwise haah. I specially remember that being the first single as well. Appreciate you, Aaron :)
Thanks man! appreciate the response! I may be wrong I just remember hearing that single first before those other two great video btw. keep up the good shit!@@NateTheMateForever
Let me know when they come back to Japan. Just found out I fuck i fucking missed them this year. So sad.
Kevin ambrose is also the younger brother to set your goals drummer!
under soil & dirt: 9/10, what you dont see: 10/10, seld titled: 7/10 and proper dose: 4/10... I think they had their peak and now it goes down.
Whooza oof couldn’t agree less, I think Proper Dose is their second best. What did you like about it?
@@NateTheMateForever dont know, Proper Dose has 3-4 solid songs but I´m more into that aggressive, finger pointing stuff. The change from their 2011 - 2015 music to this is a little bit to much. Maybe its just the fact that Parker wants to be a new member of Oasis ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Under soil and dirt - 9.5/10
What you don’t see - 10/10
Self titled - 11/10
Proper dose - 8/10
I am a simple man
Under Soil and Dirt: 8/10
What You Don't See: 8.5/10
Self Titled: 15/10
Proper Dose: 9/10
Last two albums really hit close to home for very obvious reasons and both helped me cope with the situations I was put in at the time of each albums release. I guess that's why I have a soft spot for LP 3&4
Bruh the self titled is amazing, what makes it your least favorite??
their self titled is literally a masterpiece of an album. its so well put together both lyrically and musically. at the time it came out, the lyrics really hit close to home.
I'd love to see you do Man O
Lambang Akbar Ramadhan definitely!
Neck deep and knuckle puck that type shit was like round 2, feel like set your goals four year strong, the wonder years, man overboard fits better alongside the story so far. The B bands just replicated from the tumblr wave
I literally can't believe your hair.. I'm not even gay but still cant believe it mate.. great video as always though
east bay represeeennt
Due to obsession to parker, have u guys noticed he already looks like parker.
I only watch your TSSF videos
Jessica Cundari hahaha I appreciate mate :)
