Off The Cuff: Aubrey Plaza Talks 'Safety Not Guaranteed' And Spider Bites

- Parks and Recreation's Aubrey Plaza stopped by Rolling Stone headquarters to talk with Peter Travers about her new film Safety Not Guaranteed, hanging out on Parksand getting mysterious spider bites on her face. "I like the poster. I don't want to see my fat face up there," says Plaza of the faceless promo poster for Safety. Later, Plaza touches on her experiences on Parks, saying, "Everyone, we all love each other," before playing around with a toy Thor hammer and singing her favorite Judy Garland song.
She’s like a little kid in this interview and the interviewer is a counsellor lol
Love her so damn much goddamn
I was just thinking how he seems like a child psychologist.
@@Cato229 That would have served him well in the sixties and seventies when interviewing rockers. Think about Grace Slick or Joni Mitchell. They would have benefited from an "in loco parentis."
Bruh, this sounded like less of an interview and more of a therapy session
this is how you interview someone like her, conan is pretty good to
Kevin Nealon was one of her best interviews
Too*
Hi ayeo... I like your comment but I just have to say great thumbnail - love the video and I love the track... but... how do you not have the music video on your profile... ? Shame its not there, I was disappointed but I forgive you, sexy.
This was a great interviewer. Not many people can play off of Aubrey.
for real, he was able to match her energy.
He's a little awkward, Conan and Seth were better
He was trying to pretend that he was cool, but I don't think he made it.
At first I wasn't sure, but he convinced me he gets her, knew how to play off her, and it totally worked.
@@smartfart9003 you can tell he knew she was gonna be unpredictable so he went with it and you can see where he changes gears to keep her in it
Peter gets that when you are interviewing somebody like Aubrey you have to let her brain go where it wants and then subtly bring her back to the subject at hand, rather than trying to force her to stick rigidly to it.
She's got real brain damage from her stroke and it makes her unique.
Reminds me of a cat lol
@@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017 How do you know she was not unique already before her stroke?
She's got to be the coolest girl on earth.
She's definitely among the strangest.
She’s weird in the way that you just can’t not love 💕
Wow, do I agree with you! She could define cool.
I'm experienced with Aubrey in interviews and this guy really makes her feel comfortable
Samantha Dunn he's a lovely guy, a genuinely kind person
I could literally watch/listen to Aubrey 24/7
I'm just a little obsessed with this woman.
same tbh
Same
No I am so fuck off! She's my unhealthy obsession not yours.
Aren’t we all?
Oh I get ya
unique interview style. Interesting what you managed to bring out of her. Authentic smiles.
Peter Travers may sound like a child psychologist. Personally, I think he sounds a tiny bit like Bob Ross, fantastic painter. I would like to point out that Peter has control over the interview. If you think that this is silly, take a look at Aubrey being interviewed by Ellen DeGeneres. I love Ellen because she is MAD funny, but Ellen lost control of Aubrey during her interview. Aubrey is difficult but this is a good interview.
Aubrey does the best interviews!
I could just watch her for hours. She's hypnotic.
"Wanna see my socks?... Check those out." lol
I love how Aubrey's personality is pretty much the same as April Ludgate's. Watching this interview is just like watching a really long scene on Parks and Recreation, it's great.
She intentionally does interviews this way. It's a gag. She's purposely obvious about it.
The writers wrote April based on Aubrey... April IS Aubrey. She's awesome
J Sharp Right? And it's the weirdest thing
That smile reminded me of the girl in the Adams Family when they asks her to smile. It was beautiful.
This is possibly the best interview ever.
Aubrey is a genius. She's adorable and hilarious and perfect. I'M OBSESSEDDD
I love it when both people can be a little sarcastic in an interview.
She's unique, original and totally adorable.
I don't know who this guy is, see him for the first time, but I know for sure he would have been a really excellent and successful psychotherapist.
He skills how to treat, how to communicate with a difficult, tough person are amazing.
You don't know who Peter Travers, the long-time film critic for Rolling Stone, is?
+Paul Zink no one knows
+Paul Zink Kids today, they don't know $hit.
I like the implication that Aubrey is a "difficult, tough person". That's not too far away from truth though.
@@kaktotak8267 it's the world that's effed-up, not her.
I love how good she felt with Peter. She dislikes talk shows but seemed to like this one and it made me so happy.
To tie up the interview by singing "Smile" when earlier they were talking about her smile is a really wonderful way to end this whole thing! love it
She's one of my favorite human beings.
I discovered this interview a few months ago and I am so glad I came across it because this is the most Aubrey interview I love it so much I keep coming back
god dang, I loved this interview. Mr. Travers talks comfortably with Aubrey (not seems like judging her, her personality, like many other interviewers seem to do) and makes her feel comfortable too and then she can show us who she truly is, the genuine Aubrey, so lovely and adorable and unique and authentic.
This video plays like a therapist who knows how to work with his patients
She actually has a really good singing voice😍
This girl is heart-stopping.
Actually at the time of this interview she was 28, and heart-stopping.
"there was a boy in my bed"
lol
I think why she is capitivating is her curiousity and youthful spirit. She has this naughty yet innocent yin/yang side. Like one moment she's sweet than another moment if you turn your back she be the type to stab ya. It definitly does feel like an interview with a child. She has a way of making people smile because she's honest with herself and who she is and people can relate to her weirdness. Most people are afraid to be weird because of being ridiculed. She embraces her weird akwardness and turn it into a strength. She accepts who she is and laughs about it. We should all laugh at ourselves. She doesn't take life seriously but she does. It's her way to cope with stress. I like that and we need more people too see life is fun and not boring and if it is boring make it fun. She turned a boring interview with a creepy man into something ridiculously goofy and entertaining.
Interviewer: "It's always a spider that does the biting."
Aubrey: "Why?"
Not sure I understand these comments, Peter completely understands her deadpan humor and doesn't come off creepy at all, more so genuine.
one of the coolest interviews ever! love how chill they both were
Here's what makes her so compelling. She does deadpan. Almost sells it. But that secret reality, that sincerity, that laughter, is always trying to break through. It's a glow in the eyes. The curve at the corners of the mouth that you sense she's desperately trying to suppress.
Which is EXACTLY the way a woman acts who is FLIRTING WITH YOU and trying not to seem like it.
We feel like Aubrey has a secret crush on us all, and we've figured it out. That's why we're so damned hot for her.
wow. very well said.
They filmed several scenes of this movie at my next door neighbors house. So cool to meet Aubrey when I was 8 years old!
Aubrey Plaza was perfect for "Safety Not Guaranteed." No one else could have pulled that off nearly so well.
That was the best interview with Aubrey Plaza that I have seen.
I could listen to these two talk for HOURS.
Seriously he is like the perfect complementing "interviewer" for her.
her singing voice is actually so nice
Aubrey Plaza is such a babe, omg
Femz Dott Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder!
And in the eye of the beholden.
This young lady mesmerizes me. There's something so fucking honest, sweet & cool about her'' I really don't give a fuck'' attitude. Every now and then someone comes along that has that certain thing you can't quite describe. She's got it in spades.
07:19 ONE OF THE MOST GORGEOUS SMILES IVE SEEN
This was a great interview. Aubrey Plaza will probably have a movie made about her and how she got into Hollywood. Just a natural and yet incredibly diligent and hard working. I respect her hustle.
She is so freakin adorable and funny!
I love that she totally doesn't give a shit
she does. so much actually that it makes her uncomfortable how much she cares. forcing her to pretend she doesn't for her own sake.
man her eyes make me melt
Peter is so nice
out of all of the interviews ive watched peter travers had the most chemistry with aubrey, letterman was a flop, leno wasn't too bad but this guy was definitely the one that stands out he brought the most out of aubrey, nothing creepy at all
I LOVE AUBREY PLAZA... Plus, this was a great interview. This guy plays really well off her. Like a BOSS.
these two need to be in a movie
What a perfect song for her to sing at the end. The juxtaposition of the song's lyrics and her apparent demeanor melts away as she begins enjoying playing and singing. Her apparent enjoyment may have been her laughing at the ironic dichotomy she's baring for us all; nonetheless it is a sweet moment.
I don't know why but i like the song "smile" in the end of the video so much..i always come back for that ..thaks so much for that song👍
I want this gentleman to be my therapist...
that singing at the end was precious!! love
Best interview of Aubrey Plaza ever! I love you. I would settle down with you.
I think the best thing about her personality is that I can't put my finger on what it is. She's so spontaneous and cute gosh! I can't handle! Honestly if given the chance to swoon her, I would, o I would.
it's 2023 r and i still watch this videos. Iys super great
I love her!!! Aubrey Plaza I love you!!!
That's the only version of "Smile" that I will ever need. Aubrey is best.
Kudos to this guy!
It seems like she's getting therapy the way hr interviews her... He's taking everything so serious lol
Aubrey is such a character and her sense of humor is very unique. Love her lol! 😍
The timing of Thor's Hammer noise thing was perfect
I died at 7:20. Then I came back to life to watch the rest.
OMG, I didn't know she has a heavenly singing voice!!!
1:29. Throws the wrapper on the floor and smirks. Why the fuck was that SO thrilling?
The camera loves this woman.
Her ability to push back against norms/conventions with her style of humor is amazing, love it. I'm know I'm a disappointment I know, I get it.
the look on her face when the hammer goes off is so damn cute
her smile melted my heart
These two are vibing off each other. Too funny.
now that is how you do an interview... fantastic getting her to sing like that
Aubrey Plaza... The reason I subscribed
legend has it the interviewer is still gluing his heart together
I find her really likable, down to earth. Godspeed Aubrey.
I totally love Audrey Plaza
Man, I wish Aubrey Plaza was my girlfriend.
Is this the line?
All I do is watch Aubrey plaza interviews
"a rollercoaster of fun times"
brilliant
IS IT ME OR IS THIS THE ONLY INTERVIEW OR ANYTHING YOU SEE A BRIGHTER AND MORE TALKATIVE AND LESS DEAD-PAN DARK AUBREY. I REALLY LIKE THIS AUBREY SHE SMILES A LOT OR MAYBE ITS THAT MAKE UP THAT BRINGS OUT HER FEATURES IDK
yea, they have a good rapport with each other. similar to a student and her favorite college professor who is also a buddy. everyone else is just having creepy feels because they're jealous that they're not interviewing aubrey
this is the best interview i have ever watched
This dude and Conan Obrian are the best at interviewing her, lol. It seems like everyone else has trouble interacting with her personality.
BEST! JUDY! GARLAND! COVER! EVER!!!!!!!
great interview and i love this woman!!!!
sheee sooo beautiful when she smiled!!! but i understand when she said im happy inside! and dont have to show it on the face!
this man did such a good job interviewing her wow.
aubrey should run for president!
They're both completely insane and I just love it :)
Loved this movie. Safety Guaranteed.
Hahaha when she mentioned Ghostrider 2 in 3D as one of Nicholas Cage’s best films
Why does this interview remind me of a highschool guidance counselor who is way into little boys and girls and just cant contain his glee at feeling in any way excepted.
Haha, he did seem like that.
Greatest eyes on Earth!!!
is this the first interview of hers you have seen or what?
This is the only 100% true UA-cam comment in history.
they have good chemistry, something rare w aubre
I think she's just one of those performers who is always in character.
"Do you wanna see my socks?"
"YES!"
Haha, Aubrey Plaza is hysterical. And she was great in Safety Not Guaranteed!
Genius. That description is spot on.
me talking to my therapist while getting nothing actually accomplished
