Rex Reed?! Wow, a name I haven't heard in a very long time. I've seen him on television as a kid. I didn't recognize him until he identified himself and then I saw it and remembered his voice,
I recognized Rex Reed right away; hard to believe no panelists did. But I guess being a writer they didn't know what he looked like, but he started appearing on TV regularly after this. This must've been his first TV appearance and due to his good looks was "discovered".
so did I, the second the lights came up and he opened his mouth .. and I knew Jimmy !
I don't like country music, but I loved Jimmy Walker's song and voice.
Rex Reed, good Lord! Recognized him right off, I can't remember but I think he made appearances like this on other programs
Me too!
Me too lol
Same here. He started appearing on TV regularly after this. This must've been his first TV appearance and due to his good looks was "discovered".
He indeed made an appearance like this on another program, well actually the same program: ua-cam.com/video/kjnQpVh5DTA/v-deo.html

Man #3 in Game #1
Lady #3 in Game #2
Man #2 in Game #3
Rex Reed !!!!
Believe it or not Steven Foster never saw the Swanee River (I have, but have not yet gone to the Swamp but have gone by it. It is located between Folkston ,and Waycross, Ga. The Everglades is fresh water..it flows from Lake Okeechobee, a fresh water lake.⭐
The date this episode aired, which is June 27, 1966, also saw these events:
- "Dark Shadows" premieres on ABC.
- Film director J.J. Abrams is born.
Dear Orson appears to be intoxicated!
I get tired of him not really asking questions
Always 😮
I recall one of the daytime “To Tell the Truth” shows on which Tom Poston seemed to be sloshed.
I think everyone has the same reaction, that’s Rex Reed before he was Rex Reed.
I've been to the Okie and not even the Indians wanted that place.
I guessed right! #1 seemed too confident and #2 seemed too unconfident, while #3 just seemed to be there chilling
Thanks (not)
About the time this show was recorded, when was a little girl, my family and a family of friends went visit the Okefenokee Swamp. The adults were setting up a picnic table there. The picnic roast was just brought out when a giant bull gator charged at the table. My friends father threw the roast into the gators mouth and you never saw so many people rush into a VW van. We all traveled back home a little hungry but safe. Despite that, I do remember that the swamp being a beautiful place to visit.
Mary Lou was a very attractive woman who had a very kind face. Newspaper writers did not get their faces shown at that time. Wow, I had a Mountain Dew this afternoon. Orson was unique. What does that mean? I am not sure when it comes to Orson.
Rump Ranger Rex Reed.I could not believe they threw him in there as a contestant. That voice was not southern folks.I think he had his sights on Orson.
Or the hairdresser in game 3.
Rex was from Ft. Worth Texas ..
Rex Reed was pretty manly back then.
Rex Reed Doris Day 1976 on Jonny Carson show
I never heard tell of a musical cookbook!
