- Here's a demonstration of the Videohub Master Control Pro, which is very similar to the user interface on the new Videohub 12G products just announced last week.

That audio compression is crazy. Thanks Doug!
Tooo much knowledge you are sharing sir. Brilliant stuff.
Great video once again Doug!
Will you be covering the Blackmagic IP Video 12G unit in the future? There is no content for this unit anywhere! Would love to learn more about it and how to optimise it for a live production workflow.
Fantastic channel as always!
I don't really have any reasons to get one (or a pair, as required) so I don't see myself testing it any time soon.
Comments I've heard about that product haven't exactly been favorable.
@@djp_video Thanks Doug, would you have any product that you would recommend for sending SDI video over IP?
If you need low latency, the most common solution out there is NDI. If latency isn't an issue, there are consumer products out there that can distribute video over IP.
Hey Doug! Can you do a video on the Videohub Smart Control Pro (not the Master Control Pro)? Literally no one has a video demonstrating it and how configuration/usage is different from the Master Control Pro.
I would if I had one.
It is a much simpler product. You can configure it as a source selector for a single output, or as an X-Y controller where you set 20 sources and 20 destinations and route by selecting a destination followed by a source.
Doug,
Do you have any information about changing the labels on the buttons that come from the factory? We can't get these buttons apart for the life of us, and we really want to change the labels on these without just sticking something on top of the button. Can't find information on the web so far. As always, thanks for the video!
I’ve changed them on the Master Control Pro, which was pretty easy. But I don’t have one of the new Videohubs yet
@@djp_video What was your process like? I imagine they are similar buttons. It almost looks like we have to have a special tool that will press in on all four sides in order to get the clear plastic cap off of the rest of the button.
I don’t remember for sure. I probably just stuck a blade between the outer and inner layers to pry them apart
Do you have your cameras go to the hub or direct to switcher?
Direct to the videohubs, so I can (1) change which sources go to the switcher's inputs as needed, and (2) send the camera feeds to multiple destinations (switcher, HyperDeck recorders, monitors, MultiView devices, etc.).
How do you make the label for the button?
I made a table in Microsoft Word, set the cell size to 0.5x0.5 inches, and printed on transparency film on my laser printer.
