- First time jumping out of a plane. I'm nervous and unsure but happy, all up until I take a peek out the side of the plane, to the ground below. After planting two feet on the diving plank, I try to reach back inside to cancel my intent. The effort to go back is futile as I take the plunge with my awesome tandem instructor. I hope you enjoy it.
I feel like I could totally hang out with this guy.
It's a glorious feeling to have taken the decision to go out the plane scared and realise that you needed it. I get emotional watching all these videos. Skydiving rewires your thinking on life for many people. Priorities have certainly changed for me. Life is short so live each day as if it were your last. It might well be.
Just a great reply! Live! Life is for living and having fun!
What an awesome video! Both yourself and the instructor (and his mustache) are class-acts! You both should be proud! Well done!
She would have really freaked if she would have noticed the line twist..😁✌
line twists ain't no thang when you got a mustache like that!! lol wonder if she noticed after watching the video.
@@galt820 damn right man that mustache holds magical powers..😁✌🏽
@solo xi I just thought it was funny she's like. This is my favorite part I don't have to freak out anymore just as dudes fighting a line twist to get them down safe..🤷🏽♂️😁✌🏽
😂😂😂😂
Yahooooo! I an old man now! Sure miss it but also don't know if I could enjoy being tethered to another diver! Long for freedom to somersault, rotate do JUST A LITTLE hotdogging etc. Ah! These bones are too old for anything but the softest of landings though! Great video!
Do what I do, jump a large canopy. My wing loading is
When a instructor gets their rating they need to take up a solod skydiver. Nobody in the club really wanted to volunteer. I have a family now and haven't skydived for a few years. But one day I want to jump with my son for sure. Can't wait.
This is the only first time jump video that made my palms sweat. Made me remember how much I feared my own first jump. But the more you fear it, the more you get out of doing it
I did my first jump today. I was super calm until I swung my legs out the plane. Then it was sure panic! Once I knew we were out I enjoyed it. What an incredible experience
Done any since?
@@joshhart4931 yes I did 1 more tandem while I took my son for his first. I was way more chill this time
@@lobbyrobby awesome 🙂 I've done one tandem and signed up for the static line course. I've done one of those static line jumps and hoping to knock out the other 5 this weekend so I can start freefall in the spring. I was more nervous for my first static line than I was for the tandem (mainly because I had to climb out and hang off the strut under the wing 😬. After that first one though I'm so much more excited than scared now. I knew I was going to love doing this I just didn't think I'd get so addicted so soon.
@@joshhart4931 awesome man! I'm really hoping to go through aff this winter.
@@lobbyrobby what DZ will you use for that? I need to find some warmer places to jump in the winter when I can't jump here in Nebraska.
One way up and one way down. Once you leave the comfort of an airplane. Your decision is made. You'll probably go several times more. Enjoy.
Exactly, once you get on that plane, there is no choice but to go forward!
Justin Powers ehm no? You can still choose not to jump and wait in there till the plane lands lol
DeeK KayE I mean I went yesterday and my last chance to back away was just before I stepped on that plane once ur on it ur going out 😂
Agreed!
@@DeeK1992 Nope. Last chicken exit is right before you board the plane. Once you step on the plane you're committed.
I did my first jump 22 Dec 2018, I now have 107: it's addictive :-)
Just did my first jump yesterday, doing my second jump today. Already addicted
@@x420chess Excellent Joe, Well done. Blue Skies
Steve Earnshaw Thanks! Blue Skies!
How did you get the money to skydive so much? I'm just curious because around here it's 200 every jump, by my calculations that's over $20,000. Do you have a personal plane that you jump from?
sooprfrek12 Once you get your skydiving license, it costs considerably less, here in California it would be ~$30 a jump once you have your license.
I love this video! I love your reactions going out the door!
3:19 Yep, there's that moment on every first skydive when your ride goes from a plane to a platform.
Scared but you did it! I was also scared before my first jump but all of my fear was on the ground. As soon as I got kitted up and in the plane the fear was gone. For my second jump there was no fear at all. Both of my jumps can be seen on my UA-cam channel.
Holy shit he wears sunglasses in free fall... I’m genuinely impressed
those are goggles
001001 001001 nah definitely sunglasses he just has an accessory that allows him to wrap it around his head
Aroshia oh you said he. My bad
More like reckless, you only get on pair of eyes, it can't be replaced. Damaging his eyes during the jump put both of them at risk.
@@AMM278 No they are not, you're blind.
Awesome video. One of these days I’m planning on skydiving I guess I have not got the nerve to do it yet. But one of my family members is an Army special forces Green Beret. And he would tell me stories about him and his SF team halo jumping at night for training. HALO military high altitude parachuting
I'd have been a 'BROWN Arrow' all the way from exit to landing - an aeronautical faecal display !
LMAO
Good job... I did it for the 1st time on 6/11 for my 40th birthday which was 6/12 and I must say it was awesome 😜🤟🏻😝 the initial plung from the plane @ 13,000 feet blew my mind I mean my whole soul left my body but once we kind of flattened out and started actually free falling I really felt like a superhero it was so amazing and yes I would do it again @ least the 2nd time I'll be more mentally prepared and know what to expect it was the best day of my life besides my 1st Steelers Home game great video guys
Imagine being lucky enough to jump with the 2x champ
Only 5 of us have gotten the reference so far! The Ethiopian Caterpillar gave it away! Lol
Love your reaction. Good job....
Oh I would love to do that, looks soooooo much fun👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
lol i went up in the plane super scared. i filled a puke bag before we got to jump, but when we did i couldn't stop hi fiving the dude i jumped with. that shit is just too fun
The imagery of repeated high 5s while sky diving is funny af lmao, glad it ended up being good tho
The TI was excited too. Lyle hit the bag instead of toss his cookies all over the Tandem Instructors lmao.
Girls, you gotta love them.
4:07 Not sure that doing two somersaults (4:06) was the best way to introduce someone to the activity but okay... :) Probably explains the light-headedness later on (5:08)...
4:16 Cute how he grabs your hand and makes you wave!
Well he did ask her before 😅
Ask her...about the somersaults?
Ha! I skydived once (no somersault, though); following that, I tried suggesting some of my colleagues try it as well...and it's basically out of the question, as far as they're concerned--and that's without any fancy moves.
Granted, I may have pitched it badly; but then, I suspect most people would never consider jumping out of a perfectly operating aircraft. They've got the courage to do other things, though, that I probably wouldn't do... ^^
@@ZeHoSmusician Just tell them it's BETTER than sex with your clothes ON!
He asked her if it was okay to do flips
3:57
I would be thinking... "I sure as hell hope I'm strapped to him tightly and my parachute opens!"
Nothing like a hot chick falling to her death saved by a heroic man with an invincible mustache....
Hahaha, yes, not a mustache guy myself though, but I get it
😅😅😅😅😅
you never know quite just how terrifying it is when your hanging on the edge of the plane until you done it yourself, for me it was the most unreal and terror filled 2 seconds of my life until you free fall like a roller coaster (but faster) then when you open your arms and refuse to let go of your shoulder strap cos you think you somehow lose balance and spiral out of control |( which you wont) then when you arms are out you will feel like you're flat on the ground cos the air pressure is just that immense and you wont notice the fall speed. then when the chutes out you will be YANKED back up momentarily which wil lshock you with G force you never likely of ever felt then you will be greeted with a very serene and slow descend to earth, unless you had a instructor like mine which insisted on making SHARP G FORCE FILLED turns and descend like a hawk zeroing on its prey, and when you land you will vow never to do that again.... not to say thats speaking from experience at all :-D
Lmfao thanks for that discription XD i died laughing. I want to try it one day
😂😭😭
Me & group of my friends from work are all going next month. I figure 2020 has already been nucking futs. I might as well take it to the extreme. It's been on my bucket list for far to long, time to ✅ it off.

Way Too Go! Hope to do this soon!
Great job!
4:32 Lol😂
Bruh you had a line twist when he deployed that canopy. That's a serious malfunction if you don't get on top of it fast, especially in a tandem rig. Very good instructor indeed you never even knew there was a problem
I think you've confused me with what you see in the mirror
Mac Keenan Tandem rigs get out of line twists rather easily. Still, you are correct that it is potentially serious.
Thomas Martin I just finished my AFF course and had some scary twists myself. Would have thought that it would have been worse in a tandem but thanks for the correct info!
Great video and it was from beginning to end. I am really wanting to face my fears and do this but I am petrified of a massive panic attack and losing it. Omg. Looks amazing!!
I'm doing this in July on my 50th birthday. I'm so nervous because I hate heights but that's not going to stop me.
How was it??
Love it!
What was the music?
for anybody else here who is only one jump in I think we all agree; it feels like freefall lasts forever until you see your video and realize, shit, we only fell for like 20 seconds.
it looks like she loved it :)
Just did my first jump today, I gotta say it was a whole new experience for me. Plus the amount of motion sickness hit me hard
Congrats, you made it
I do hop n pops longer than that freefall
Such a small plane
Is this out of Camarillo?
oh wow, you actually hang out the plane for a bit. we just went last week but we had to just roll out the door. no where to "hang out" like you did
All that hair in my face would drive me crazy
Wait Anthony Kedis is a professional skydiver?
I like dude. He seems cool as shit.
Soooo want to do this but I’m scared of heights?! But that won’t stop me from conquering my fear of heights
I didn’t know Leon Redbone jumped! Far out man!
Ha Ha. Had to look that up since I did recognize the name. Spot on!
XP awesome!
That was a short freefall. I wonder how low this jump was lol
Ailin Shao 10.000ft i guess?
Cessna? Probably 10,500. Opening at 55000
Doing this on August 24th , 15,000ft 🙏 super nervous but I’m hoping that this will be an amazing experience. Got this as and 18th birthday present back in Jan 😀
She lost her goggles
does anyone know the song name?
I think I'd cry tears of joy too. Not the best song choice, but what a great reaction.
cool dude
She did fine
I'm going tomorrow 🤪 for the first time. 😁🤞🤞🤞
I could never do this job lol.. not only do I hate heights, but how do you ride for 20 min with a beautiful lady bouncing up and down on your lap and not end up accidentally poking them?? 😅
It's called professionalism
Just as long as they don't reach around and grab something then everyone will be screaming.
I've always wanted to but my fear of heights makes it impossible.
You should do it! I'm terrified of heights (like to the point that I have to walk down my stairs at home backwards), and honestly you're so high up that everything looks flat like a map. At least for me it didn't trigger my fear of heights in the least.
I thought it was going to feel like a rollercoaster ride the entire way down too, but after the first few seconds it just feels like you're floating, it's great!
@@theguitarist1290 hey Dan ! I’m actually gonna jump soon and have similar fears u mind if I ask u a couple questions ?
@@cheyennebrooks7853 No worries, ask away! lol
@@theguitarist1290 I saw you said your really terrified of heights . I am too and the drop or getting out of the plane isn’t even much of a worry for me . It’s the whole point of actually just being suspended that high up with just a parachute . Did u ever look down and get scared or nauseous realizing your that high up . Or even during the canopy gliding through the air part was that really scary ?!
@@cheyennebrooks7853 Overall it was definitely an enjoyable experience.
Personally, the worst part of the experience for me was the flight up. Exiting the plane was a little nerve-wracking, but as soon as I was falling my nerves completely vanished.
Even after the free fall when the parachute opened didn't seem to phase me too much, probably because of all the adrenaline that is pumping. I can honestly say that at no point during the fall did my fear of heights kick in, and I have a pretty severe case of it lol.
That was cool, but I'd much rather see Anthony Kiedis stage diving and rocking it with the Chilli Peppers.
The passenger is without a helmet??????
like that would have helped
I know some who live thanks to the helmet
dude its a fall from 12000 feet...thats approximately 4000m calculating the force on impact would be
h = 0.5*10*t**2
4000 = 5*t**2
t**2=800
t = 28.28seconds
now consider this
u**2/g=h
u**2=4000*10
u**2=40000
u = 200m/s
F=m(v-u)/t
F=80kg(0 - 200)/28.28
F= 565.77N
conclusion you died
Tandem passengers never wear a helmet. There's a lot of bobbing around, etc., and if the helmet smashes into the face of the instructor it could knock them out.
probably would be easier to breathe with a helmet at least and more quiet, less wind hitting you in the face.
No flips for me lol
No haces la danza de manerales y no sales posado... Es exhibicion???
huh?
My brother was into skydiving. He fell off Manaoa Falls in Hawaii and died, we had him creamated and my first jump was spreading my brother's ashes into the clouds he loved so much. RIP Phizzie

The plane flies a little too fast when you 2 jump out of it -- the pilot forgot to deploy the proper flaps
wyh they are not strapt on way up??!!!!! even pilot is wearing rig!
Somebody got pee pee pants.
kinda funny how people will spend 40 +$ per person ? to get into a theme park @ dizzzY Lnd < and Have to OVERPAY and stand in line for everything !!! i do not understand . yes Sak your eyes watered !! TEARS of JOY or @ 120 mph of mother earth > air in your face :) all good my first jump was in 06 > tandem< they would not let me loose on my own with a 7,000 dollar Rig so you know - after one the Most best @ being alive ! i found out that the jumpmaster i was # 5,744 >> been AIRING ever since
There be little 💩 falling from sky if I did that heck noo
Never could see the sense of jumping out of a perfectly good airplane....nope not for me
I can imagine her hair hurt his face so much
Really careless jumping without proper eyeware. Any dust particle, anything hitting you're eyes or getting in your eyes and you're not going to be so happy then.
Hey, stupid fucker. Have you ever jumped out of an airplane? I did, 900+ times in total. You think there are dust specks floating around up there? How about you shut your mouth about shit you know nothing about. Also, the glasses stay on as with proper precautions (band tightening around the head) and as long as he doesn't do any free flying. Typical ignorant know it all whuffo comment.
@@flybeep1661 I mean theres bound to be dust particles but holy fuck that was a retarded statement 😂😂 worst case would be they fly off during freefall and he gets dry and teary eyes haha
Yes I’m gonna I wanna morning I
lower the music and get a wind baffle just my opinion.
