The pro is too small and the max is too big. If there was a mid 6.4' it could be perfect
Right on!
YES!
nah. Give me 5'4
cloest you’ll get is 11 Pro Max and XS Max at 6.5
That's the size of my s10+ (6.4) and I'm thinking the same about the iphones. Too smll vs too big...
A very needed video. Great work
Thanks! Glad you found it useful!
Thanks that was just what I needed!
Happy to hear this was of help!
I have the exact same back story as you. Thanks for the video. Trying to decide between the pro vs max myself.
Glad this was of help!
i upgraded from the 12 pro max to the 14 pro max. instantly regretted because the 12 max was so heavy and big i have no idea why i decided on going for the 14 max over the regular pro. i only upgraded in the first place because i really wanted a silver phone and my 12 pro max was graphite as its the only one they had in stock at the time. so i upgraded to the 14 pro max in silver with 1TB because i was sure it would be years before i upgrade again. but now i feel like it won't be that long before i upgrade again because it's so heavy
underrated video, thank you for sharing
Thanks! Appreciate the comment!
I really needed this video as I just upgraded from the iPhone 11 to the iPhone 14 Plus yesterday. I’m already tempted to trade back in and get a pro but now I’m gonna give it a go
Glad my video was of help!
Still using my 11. I hate how thick and heavy iPhones are now like bricks and square sides
Ugh
@@Ohkeh640I miss my 11 Pro Max!!! 14 Pro max feels like it’s and iPad I’m carrying?! What’s in here lead?
Just swapped out the 14 Pro Max for the Pro. I really liked the 8+ so I thought I’d be ok with the Pro Max but the combo of weight and size were just too much.
same here
I have the 8 plus and got the pro but want to switch to the pro max. Is it that of a problem?
@@yoavshap2623 size is about the same but the 14PM is MUCH heavier. So much so that I was willing to got through the trouble of swapping mine for the regular 14 Pro.
The 14 Pro Max feels gigantic and super heavy versus the 8 Plus. And the edges are so sharp, not comfortable at all! The 8 plus feels incredible in the hand, like a natural part of your arm. Round and soft like a pebble.
Yes you can get used to anything but the extra size is not 1 hand friendly, it don’t fit comfortable in most pockets, in a case it’s even bigger an on side clip extra size catches on things getting in out of car or walking close around things, the extra weight is noticeable in pants pocket or case clipped on waist band as it pulls pants down on that side unless wearing belt or tight draw string, So all together extra size an weight are majorly noticeable and is actually biggest reason I didn’t upgrade yet from 12pro, don’t want bigger heavier phone causing all those downsides to live with daily hoping 15pro redesign flat be 12pro weight size or lighter thinner, good video
Dude you just nailed it.. we have the same reasoning.. you are very wise.. you definitely deserve a subscription..
Ha, thanks! Glad to hear, and thanks for the sub!
Thank you, you just hit the right topic for a lot of people who are on fence.
Thanks for your comment, and glad my video was of help!
I have just yesterday bought myself a 14 pro max when a store near me reduced them in prep for the 15’s announcement. Thankyou for putting this video out as I’ve been seriously worried I made a mistake on size! I’m coming from a 13mini and while I’ve loved the return to a small phone some of my tasks need more real estate (and let’s face it my eyesight isn’t getting any younger), my daughter is ready for her own phone so we can contact each other whilst she is at activities after school and I was either going to buy myself an iPad mini to tether when I wanted bigger and her an SE or Mini - or I buy myself something bigger and give her the Mini. I generally use 2 hands even in my mini so one handed operation isn’t the big priority for me it might be for others.
My intention is this phone will be my phone until apple stops giving it updates so I figure around 4 years :)
Purchased 14 pro, friends stopped me purchasing pro max stating too heavy and uncomfortable
Helpful assessment. Thank you. Easy to obsess on size/weight issues. I traveled 40+ miles to the nearest Apple Store to settle the issue. I returned my 14 plus in the process. So, case closed, knowing that succeeding pro max phones are likely to trace the current (heavier) paradigm, the future will provide more of the same angst. Better to make the decision once.
Nice perspective ;) Thanks for sharing!
I work from home , so for almost 3 years my iPhone is really a mobile phone when I’m out of the house. I use my iPad all the time . My current iPhone is the 13 I plan to get the 15 pro , the pro max/ultra. I don’t know if I really need a bigger phone when I’m on the go.
We don’t use phone Home Screen open always to dynamic island is not big issue and also always on display since we have to tap to awake which means when we are close to phone we can check time and notifications. Only update real update I mean is video and photo at low light
Thanks for the review. Have you faced issues with reachability on the bigger phone? Reaching different parts of the screen?
Nothing particularly impactful on my day to day activities. I've even managed texting with one hand too. With Reachability turned on, in case I need to reach the very top of the screen with 1 hand, that's also very doable. Hope this helps!
@@RawansReviews That's very helpful, thank you.
I think the iPhone 11 Pro Max was good size! But I switched from 14 pro max to the 15 pro and it’s so much more comfortable to hold. I wish it was a little bit bigger. But I will get used to it
My Dilemma now. I’musing x for 5 yrs and finally decided to upgrade. But Im so torn. Great review but reading some comments about carrying it to the gym on your pocket is a factor to me also. Though I want a big screen for video editing. Instead of getting an ipad this was mu option.
I just hope you could male a video on how you fext, or use thé dynamic island etc stuff.
Great video!! So what about the iPhone 14 plus? Is that worth getting over the 14 pro or the 13 pro max
honestly it just has better battery life than the 13 and 14 pro , but it is the same size as the 14 pro max and the 13 pro max
Had it for less than 2 weeks coming from an 11 pro and my hands are feeling tiered like never ever had this issue before! And had a 8 plus back in the day 😅
Dude… I play guitar and this phone hurts my hands holding it
You make a lot of good points. I went from an small android phone to an iphone(since I’m more lean to Apple than android) and I have a regular 11 trying to upgrade to the new model. I was initially going to go for the pro but the pro max has definitely been calling to me. Like you said, you got use to the weight and we learn to adapt to many things so maybe I think I should take the jump and go for the pro max and take it from there.
I think that’s a good way to look at things ;) thanks for watching!
Love this guy! Go BIG or GO HOME! No apologies. Most excellent review! I have struggled with do I want to go big and you did and excellent job convincing me. I especially appreciate your take on the dynamic island which is hit or miss for some, and enjoying the larger screen which is my primary reason for wanting this phone. I am concerned about fitting it in my pocket however. Thank you sir!
Glad my video was of help!
I got a 14pm as well and I have a 13 as a 2nd phone I’ve had my 14pm for almost a year its a big heavy phone when I pick up my 13 it’s so light and manageable the 6.1 is the sweet spot but I have days where I want the big screen especially for media content
I have the 14 pro, I find the max heavy. Especially when wearing gym shorts. Just drags my shorts down. Also when sitting down it’s easier for the phone to slide out. Then when you go out makes it uncomfortable to carry the max around. Also you need both hands to use the dynamic island since it’s harder to reach with one hand. 14 pro battery sucks compared to the max. But I rather sacrifice that with comfort and portability.
Ditch the cord, wear a belt. You may look like a dork though.
Battery life doesn't suck, you just use your phone too much...
how many hours you got daily on that 14 pro?
Is there difference between the 2 dynamic islands?
@@Kinja_fr, my 12 with 85% gets me thru the day perfectly fine
I still don't know what to buy... I have a 6.4 inch android phone for 2 years and I'm used to using 2 hands on my phone. But the 6.7 inch PM is not higher than my android, but it is bigger in width and I don't know if it would bother me (I will use a case which makes it even more bigger). Also the weight. I have my phone in my hands a lot. The Pro feels like it's too small but I can get used to it. I'd take the PM for the bigger battery but then I'm scared the size/weight will bother me... They're nowhere in stock here so I have time to think... I also have 14 days to return it if I don't like it, but if I buy the PM and return it I might have to wait again for at least a month to get the normal pro... Such a difficult choice
Difficult choice indeed. My perspective (and that's just mine, might be different for you!); you'll get used to whichever one you get. There will be an adjustment period either way. But then, might as well adjust in favor of the bigger (nicer) screen and better battery life, than adjust towards a smaller screen. Either way--again at least in my case--you will adjust. It's good that you can return within 14 days, even if you'll have to wait, better than living with a phone you absolutely hate. And I think 14 days is more than enough time for that adjustment. If you still find it annoying after 14 days, then might be best to switch to the smaller one. If it was me, I'd go for Pro Max and see if I can adjust, and then switch back to 14 after 14 days if I can't. But that's just me. Good luck with your choice!
Im using the promax 14 and I started to feel like regret bc its heavy to handle using it for few hours. I think Im gonna sell it going for the pro. A few gram matter when it come to carrying the phone all the time
That’s what she said
There should be an in between size or something like an air based purely on being thin and light
You’re dynamic island was blinking. How did you get it to do that??
They’re actually blinking all the time, but we can’t see that. That’s the Face ID infrared. Not visible to our naked eyes but visible through a camera (that has no IR filter). Try it with an iPhone’s front camera and any iPhone that has Face ID and see for yourself!
I’m returning my 15 pro max for the 15 pro. My fingers and thumb hurts maybe my hands are too small for it
I am just concern how it fits for biking
I have been agonizing over pro vs pro max as I am upgrading from a regular 11. Thank you for the video! I am more adamant to bite the bullet now.
Glad you found this helpful!
Just wondering have u uprugade yet? Also usin 11 at the moment and cant decided should i go for regular pro or take the risk of better battery but also the big size of the max.
@@lovro6924the same situation
@@flaego6165 Ended up gettin the regular 14 pro. Theres noticable difference in battery life comparing 11 and 14 pro, but tbh i expected more. As a heavy phone user it can last me a day, but sometimes i regret not taking the risk of the size with pro max and having even better battery life. Still think it would be too big for my everyday use, but it depends from person to person whether they will get used to its size or not.
@@lovro6924 i think i’ll take pro max
Honest video.. was worried about switching to a max from iphone 7!
Glad you found it helpful!
Excellent video. Thanks because of answers all of my questions on my brain.
Happy this was of help!
Nice detailed video. I'm using a Motorola Moto G6 which is about 160 something grams released in 2018. So, if I were to get the future iPhone 15 pro max (or ultra) I'll be making a huge change in size, weight, and apple product. I think I'm ready for a bigger phone. I prefer to use my laptop more probably because the screen is bigger. Maybe a bigger phone will make me want to use it more.
if you are going to buy 15 pro series it will be made out of titanium so it will weigh less, wich is good cause 240g is a lot.
Really love this relaxed, just chatting kinda format of your video !! You helped me make my mind. I ll be going for the 14 pro max after retiring my one plus 5t after 5 & a half years! 😂
Glad you enjoyed the video, hopefully you'll enjoy the 14 Pro Max too ;)
@@RawansReviews Though I am not in a hurry to change my phone as it works fine and with September/October being just not that far if you think about it, do you think it makes sense to wait for the 15 lineup ? With so much hype being built around the new ones. I am one of those to upgrade every 4 years or so. Would be really grateful for your reply. 🙏
@@gimax4689 That's always a difficult dilemma. You're almost halfway through the release cycle. While I don't expect major changes for the 15 Pro, there definitely will be _some_ changes. It's also likely to now come with USB-C instead of Lightning (if that matters to you). If it was me and I was not in a hurry to change my phone, I'd wait till the 15 and see what that brings. I'd be very frustrated if I get the 14 today and in a few months, the 15 is released with a few new features that appeal to me. Hope this helps!
@@RawansReviewsHaha yes especially when I would be looking to keep it for the next 4+ years or so! Heard so many 'alleged' upgrades to the 15 already. Periscope camera/titanium body etc out of which the type c and even a slightly better camera would be more than enough for my usage so I guess I will wait for it ! Thank you for just hearing me out & helping me with my decision. Sometimes that is what Is required to make up one's mind. Have a great day! 🙏
Holding onto my XS Max as long as possible!! It’s much lighter and comfortable to use!!
Same :)
I switched from an X to a 12 Pro Max, and really it is just a little too big & heavy for me. It just gets in the way when I am doing things, and the extra screen real estate is not that useful in my use case. There are two ways around it that I found, all requiring AirPods. Either I could have got a standard iPhone, and use the price difference to get an iPad Air or MacBook Air. Or if you have the large/heavy phone, an Apple Watch means you can leave the iPhone Pro Max at home or in the car, and take the watch for activities. All the devices I mentioned that are not the phone have a much longer life than the phone, and therefore it makes sense to buy a cheaper phone and accessorise. My next phone will be a pro, non max, but I do think the pro is a rip off and I don’t recommend it.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
Buy 14 is very light
This is exactly the video I was looking for. I have the 12 pro. I used to have the XS max. There are many reasons why I like the smaller phone. But my eyesight is getting bad with age, and I’ve been editing my photos on my phone lately. It’s a toss up for me.
Glad you liked it. Stay tuned for my upcoming review of the iPhone 15 Pro Max--might be a better fit for you than the 14 Pro Max perhaps?
I love the pro max I was using a cheap Motorola phone before. Big screen big win for me.
I have large hands and have always preferred the Plus and Max models of iphones. However, after upgrading from the the Iphone 11 Pro Max to the 14 Pro Max, I still find the device uncomfortable and heavy even after two months. My fingers still experience pain as a result. 😮
same here, I switched to 14 pro
I got the phone and is way too heavy. I’m actually looking to return and get the 12 instead until they make it lighter. It hurts my hands.
the 14 plus is light
I’m here considering jumping from an 8 to iPhone 14 plus. It’s a big phone for one handed use but something new about it
That's going to be an interesting jump for you!
How well does it fit in a pocket bc at work I can’t put my phone at a desk. I don’t have a desk job. Also I’m thinking if upgrading my regular 12 to a 14 pro
It’s definitely going to be a significant change over the 12. Of course depends on how tight the pocket or pants are. But generally speaking, if a comfortable fit in a pocket is really important, then I’d recommend the 14 or 14 Pro over the Max.
I have an iPhone 8 plus now but I can’t decide between the 14 pro and the 14 pro max. The 14 pro screen is bigger than the 8 plus screen, but it just feels so tiny in my hands. Maybe that’s just something I have to get used to. The 14 pro max is the same size as the 8 plus, but then the screen is way bigger and maybe unnecessary. I can’t decide which one to buy, does anyone have some advice?
Am using 14 pro max as a second phone among 4 months. My daily phone is 6s plus! İmagine how r my days going on! If I were u I would buy iphone 15 not pro or pro max
If you don’t mind the size of the 8 Plus, I think you might enjoy the Pro Max. You’ll have much more screen real estate which you’d probably love. There’s going to be a pretty significant weight change. But you could get used to that with time. However, if you’re not a rush to upgrade now, the iPhone 15 is just a few weeks away (to be announced around September 12). I’d wait to see what that brings first. Worst case, you can then buy the 14s at a slightly cheaper price then.
@@RawansReviewsturns out the 15 regular and pro is a massive scam and worse than 14 Pro LOL
Me too i can’t decide i have 7 plus and i want to upgrade so bad:( , i want iphone 15 but i can’t decide 15 or 15 plus , i wish Apple make 6.4 inch thats perfect size
Go with pro max
I got the 13pro max last year and it’s a beast of a phone but just too big.. wish I’d have got the standard pro. Not upgrading early as I lose out on money but definitely not getting the max again.
I have the regular 12 pro. As pretty are the maxes are. I hate the weight of them.
do you still feel this way?
After carrying a 12 mini for 2 years I can’t imagine how I would adapt to a phone as large and heavy as the 14 Pro max. Even the smaller 14 Pro is quite heavy
Coming from the mini, that’s definitely one heck of a jump to the Pro Max!
I went from 13 Mini, to 14 Pro and it felt like a brick. Went and bought another 13 mini
@@webb3201 wow! That says it all
I’m struggling now with this! I went from a 12 mini,to the 13 prom max ,which I loved! After about 6 months ,I really started hating the phone cause it was becoming a hassle to carry around,so I traded it for the 13 mini(which is a great phone) . I started using my gps a lot ,so the mini screen was just not cutting it. I upgrade to the 14 pro, which is a great phone, but I really wanted the promax(which wasn’t in stock at the time) now it’s back in stock, and I want to change to it,but am I going to hate it in 6 months like I did the 13 promax?
Thanks for sharing. I am currently using an iPhone 13 mini and I am curious about what an iPhone 14 pro max could do for me. I love making videos and photos with my iPhone and find that my iPhone 13 mini is empty in battery very quick when shooting in cinematic mode … On the other hand, the “small size” of the phone is an absolute reason I love this phone mini. AAAH the choices you have to make as a modern man are hardly to do! :-)
Bro I dont understand what u like it! U tried all iphone size and u said u liked all of them and hate all of them 😅 Nowadays which iphone u r using? * I m using iphone 14 pro max.
The 14 Pro Max is even heavier. You can feel it for sure. It’s super heavy and the massive cameras on the back make a difference too, they stick out a lot.
I have the Pro Max but I don't know if I should keep it... I don't know if I'll get used to the size or if I should just downgrade to the Pro. I'm coming from an X
That’s a big jump from the X! Give it some time I’d say. But indeed if you find yourself you haven’t gotten used to the size, the Pro would give you a (somewhat) similar feel to the X. Good luck ;)
The x was my Favorite. I’m using 11 now as my x screen broke died and won’t charge.
Was so comfortable and thin in hands. Love that phone
I love the iPhone 14 pro max
Thank you finally someone who made a video on this subject I have a regular 12 and I been wanting to jump to the pro max but seeing people complain about how the pro max being so heavy scaring me off how does the pro max feel to you now
It just depends on what you want. The pro Max isn’t light but you get a nice big display. It just depends on what you rather have if you use your phone to watch a lot of videos or movies and gaming then go with the pro max. If you don’t and you prefer something lighter, then go with the pro
i have the 13 pro max to me it’s not heavy
@@AJR352 I don’t ever watch movies or anything like that on my phone I’ll usually hop on the iPad for that
Glad you found this review helpful @Albert; at the end of the day it's a matter of personal preference. The Pro Max _is_ heavy, but (at least in my experience), you do get used to that. The only time you really feel how heavy it is is when you hold in your hand a non-Pro-Max version, then you're instantly reminded how much heavier the Pro Max is, in comparison. Again, it might be different for other people, but for me, I found the larger screen is such a joy to use that the weight and heftiness is not bothersome anymore. Thanks for watching!
I could not get a smaller screen, love how big the display is and how awesome it is to use! I have big ass hands so that might be why it’s easy for me to use!

I had the iPhone 13 Pro Max. I swapped it for the iPhone 13 Pro. OMG big mistake I miss the big screen and miss the bigger battery

Ugh. I have the 12 pro max and I have to get another phone. 😩 I want to go smaller because I don’t like the weight but I know I’m going to miss my big screen.
I feel ya. There's always a compromise we have to make!
Iphone xs max is the best
Think Max is better for shootings and watching pics and videos. And also you become more for your money, better battery life, a big screen which can use all the potential of the quality
Well said!
More for the money? Its more expensive then the regular pro so what are you saying man

I'm switching from the ASUS Rog Phone 3 which also weighs 240g so a no brainer there. Besides, why do you tech reviewers find it repulsive? It's the best iPhone out there
What exactly do I find repulsive again?
I just buy the pro yesterday and I already regret it. I had the note ultra but the camera it’s just too heavy 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Why do you regret the iPhone 14 Pro? Would you go for the Max, since it's heavier?
😂go and get pro max for the much more tears 😭😭😭😭
I am in the exact same situation as u omg
What is "the notch"??
That’s the black part on top of previous iPhones that hid the camera, Face ID etc.
New to iphones?
I hated my 11 pro max after years of dropping it and never being able to hold in one hand. So happy I got the 14 pro, you don’t need that big screen use your iPad or tablet.
I love it when it's big 🌞
I am using iphone 14 pro currently but i want to exchange with iphone 14 pro max😂
That is what she said
Soon they'll be so big you'll have to hold them with a strap that Apple will sell separately.
The thing is, the phone isn’t that much larger, it’s really the weight. You’ll probably just get used to both
I haven’t despite owning pro max for 10 months and I am a fully grown 6ft man. Pro 6.1 is the way to go!
I love the size of the iPhone 14 Pro Max .. I tried to use IPhone 14, it was too small for pictures, games, etc…
6.7 inches isn't enough for me
Big all the way 😉
Always ;)
They need to make the iphones narrower.
Looking forward to 6.9 inches of iPhone 16 pro max
If iPhones weren’t as thick and heavy this would be ideal!!! Still using my 11. The round sides were nice
iPhones are like bricks now too heavy and thick. Unnecessary. They’re just adding dumb thickness and weight.
I regret upgrading my iPhone 11 Pro Max to the 14 Pro Max. The device is too heavy and uncomfortable to use.
I blame my brother for getting me used to the highest phones 😬😬 from the 6s plus, the 11 pro max, then the 14 pro max

Your facial expressions in the end of the video is not even convincing. Many people actually returned Pro max for Pro or other models.
14 pro max is simply too heavy and unwieldy but you won't admit it.
I'm not trying to convince you of anything. Just sharing my experience. While it might be too heavy for some, I still love mine--I kept mine--and I can't imagine going back to the smaller screen. It is indeed heavy, but I got used to that. But, I do understand others might have different experiences. Cheers
Same thing, I regret with pro max 14

It’s to fycking heavy
Wasting way too much time charging earpods watch and phone ofcourse

I absolutely hate this phone. I was given it as a gift (no idea why they chose this). Going from a iPhone 8 to the 14 pro max is miserable. Wrist pain, thumb pain, too heavy and way too big. Who needs this??? Just get an iPad.
