Now I don't want to go into the many ancient historians like Sylax, Diodorus, Pliny the Elder, Tacitus, Herodotus etc. and more recent historians, writings and traditions of the Assyrians that attest to the ties with the Assyrians/Germans and Persia/Iran or the Indians from Sanskrit. It is interesting that these Assyrians are also referred to as "Daityas" in Indian writings - "Daityas" means "German" in Sanskrit. That's why I have only briefly summarized the essentials here. The Greek historian Ctesias, who passed down the names of the Assyrian kings from 1970 to 1850 BC, such as Arelios, Xerxes, Armanithos, Shaeros or Tentamos. Xerxes I[a] (ca. 518 - August 465 BC), commonly known as Xerxes the Great, was a Persian ruler who served as the fourth king of the kings of the Achaemenid Empire. He was the son of Darius the Great and Atossa, a daughter of Cyrus the Great. Thus the Assyrians also had Iranian or Persian roots, or conversely the Persians had Assyrian and Germanic roots. Cyrus is mentioned positively in 2 Chr 36:22, Ezra 1:1 ff and Isaiah (44:28 and 45) and is compared to a "Messiah" who "by awakening his spirit" enabled the return of Jewish parts of the population from Babylonian exile.
