So glad to see Darkwood get the recognition it deserves. Trying to barricade your shelter and make it through the night, lights out, headphones on is one of the most terrifying gaming experiences I've ever had
As a teenage boy (now 30) I was unbelievably defeated by Project Zero 3. And as a little kid Silent Hill 2 both mesorised me, disturbed and depressed me. But Spyro was cool! 🥰 hehe.....ye
Those old fmv's were the scariest thing you could imagine as a kid in the 90's. Being chased by the husband at the end of Phantasmagoria was pants pooping
Just a little heads up. I have no mouth and I must scream is an awesome game. It’s got some of my favorite sprite work and Harlan Ellison is simply a master of horror. That being said the game is so broken it’s almost unplayable without a guide. You have to complete every level in exactly the right order, if you pick up an item before or after you are supposed to, you will softlock the game and have to restart. It’s so easy to softlock this game that I’ve never been able to complete the whole thing in one save file. I’d recommend checking this one out for its art and story but you’re definitely gonna have to play it with a guide.
"the game that beyond the file selection menu" just absolutely sent me into hysterics. gotta play a nonsensical mini game to play the game....very brave move as a dev. A bit of a obscure/dated game at this point but Uninvited used to make me shit my pants as a kid, particularly the 'parasol lady' I remember bailing off the the computer chair and leaping behind the couch before she turned around, like she was some kind of spooky grenade.
Darkwood is a instant game over for me! I cant play games where you get FORCED to kill youre Dog. No way. I have it but never played it further and dident even get my money back. Bit Cthulhu is awsome on the old xbox. This is the best Terror Horror Game i have ever played!
I’ve never been able to take Phantasmagoria seriously, it’s like one of those ‘80s horror movies that’s ultraviolent but too cheesy and campy and cheap to be scary.
Imagine somebody saying: “Capcom deserves a slap in the face for birthing the wretched abomination known as Resident Evil 4. It’s a shame so many gamers fell prey to such evil creations as Resident Evil 4, Alan Wake 2 and Silent Hill 2 and losing their sleep and sanity because of evil companies who rob them of their time and money only to be scarred for life and lose their sanity. I am infuriated to see the sales numbers of those games.” - says some survival horror game hater.
Dude I've tried beating call of cthulhu at least 3-4 times on my 360 back in the day and every single time got softlocked and no matter how far back I went into my saves it kept showing up. It's not even that scary after a while, just fighting against the controls. I've had a steam copy for a while but can't bring myself to sit down and do it ALL over again since that game can be a bit of a slog in the first half, even knowing exactly where to go only helps some, if I remember correct there are a bunch of unskippable cut-scenes and it's still a survival horror game with odd shooting so good luck!!! Still love the game to death though, just, damn. Fuckin guy in the jail-cell...
Not every SH considers SH2 to be the best one. Yes it's fantastic and by far one of my favorite games, but SH3 is so much scarier than SH2 and imo overall its superior to SH2 and quite possibly the best horror game of all time.
Nope. It might be scarier, but it's not better. That's a relatively new phenomenon because SH2 is so universally praised, contrarians are coming out of the wood work to say its sequel is better.
Fan. Tas. Tic. Videoomgwhatavideo! So many hidden gems along cult classics, bravo! BTW please play World of Horror, it is insane and I am very proud of my compatriots who made it.

Harlan Ellison also voiced AM and did a bang up job of it!
Some great choices here. Bad Mojo, Dark Corners of the Earth, I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream, Phantasmagoria, and Silent Hill 2 are all phenomenal.
For me it was the original Drakengard. When man eating babies started to rain from the sky I just noped out first time I played it.

So good to hear Ben from PlayStation Radio UK wetting his trousers, and being super famous!
Happy Halloween everyone!!!
Played em all.
Finished them all.
Own them all.
By coincidence, I was playing Darkwood until 2 days ago, but I couldn't stand it. Very tense.
The Triplejump background ost is our save room music
I've never done a horror before, but I have played a horror game, so I'm going to give this everything I've got!
Huh?
@GrimKnight12 he never done a horror before even though he's played a horror game so gonna give it everything he got
@@ProductofChinathanks this really helped lol
What???

Don’t you think that’s exactly the frustration AM wanted you to feel? Escape is futile
Ah yes, H.P. Lovecraft. The guy who became bizarrely famous and iconic for.. cthulu

Thanks for everything, happy Halloween triple jump.

Calendula sounds more frustrating than scary
Surprised Eternal Darkness didn't make the list.

I'm aware of what you did there when you said Spook and had the black couple clip playing.
Ben? Formerly Ben of What culture? Oh my..
From Software took a look a Pyramid Head and said “yep, full game”
The only 3 video games that felt scary for me were: Silent Hill 2, Condemned 2: Bloodshot and Outlast 2.
If there would've been time stamps, I would've stayed
The only video game that has ever creeped me out enough to stop playing is
Now that's scary
silent hill 2 didn't scare me as much as silent hill 3
What do you mean? I watched this video with the lights off and I wasn't even scared... much.
Happy Halloween!
When I was 10 I was too afraid of the Butcher in Diablo 1 so I had to get my brother to beat him for me.
iron lung looks cool. Imma play that
Hiii,
Would anyone know this violin background song?
Include Shadow Corridor1 in the next list 🙏.
0:20 you had to “reach down hard for some obscure titles” and.. you actually mention Silent Hill 2, one of the best known horror classics ever?
You didn’t finish darkwood and get the twist ending..?

What's more disturbing than these games? The developers who design and make these games. 🙂
Some deep cuts on this list.
You seriously never finished Silent Hill 2?
I been gaming a long time and I've only heard of 2 of these
Sleep is for the weak.
Morning Ben 🤘🤘☕️👾 been a fan of your channel for 2 years any way good night 🌙 triple jump UA-cam family
Triple Jump time
I don't know chief, sounds like a Skill Issue to me.
I want to see the footage of you guys quitting Phantasmagoria due to the pure terror you experienced.,
Silent Hill. Ever since back in ps2 days. I played it a few times and a huge nope. 😂 yup I'm that guy. But i can play resident evil. So idk 🤷
Why is outlast 1 or 2 not on this list? They are much scarier than most of the games on this list
The first Outlast was featured in their original list of horror games they couldn’t finish. This list is part 3.
'Cutoloo' mythos? What an odd pronunciation of Cthulhu. C...thu..lhu...
You were terrified from some of these games? Man up..
Even though it's not very scary, Oxenfree has a really good chiller story.
Were is ashly😢
What's the game on the Thumbnail
Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners

Hola 😊
This sh*t looks scary if you are 5 year old girl.
Last of us part2 hospital
Mannequin hospital little nightmares 2 ☹️
What about the FNAF games; there loaded with jump scares?!
Only Silent Hill 2 should be on that list… everything else looks cheap af to be scary

Id say silent hill 1 is best and scariest

Fear and hunger ??
