Back in 2021 I received a community guidelines violation on a UA-cam video I uploaded. There was actually no questionable content in my video but somehow the video got dinged with a violation. In hindsight I should've appealed it but I acted too quickly and deleted it. This left me with one strike on my channel. I definitely didn't want any more strikes and luckily all future videos I've uploaded had no problems.
But recently I got a chance to remove the violation and here's how I did it. I didn't know it was possible but the other day when I logged into my UA-cam channel I saw a banner at the top of the window saying my community guideline violation could be removed. There was a button on it where I clicked to start the process. The page it took me to basically says I can do policy training to remove the violation in 90 days. To start the process there's a Take Action button on the bottom right of the window. On the next page I can click on the Begin Review button on the bottom right to start.
On the following page it gives me the option to start the policy training and the good thing is that it's only 7 questions long. From here I'll click on the blue Take Training button. My training is on the topic of spam, scams and deceptive practices. Here I'll click Next. In this video you can see what questions they ask since I'm actually going through these as I record this. A green checkmark means the answer is correct. On the second question I actually got the answer wrong. But the good thing is that they allow unlimited attempts to get it right. So you can't really fail the test. The questions really aren't difficult. Just read the information on the right side of the screen and then answer the questions on the left.
When I got to question 6 I got that one wrong too. But with unlimited attempts I can keep trying until I get the answer correct. After passing the 7th question I clicked on the Next button to find a confirmation screen letting me know I completed the training. It tells me that my violation will expire on January 23rd of 2024 which is approximately 3 months from now. At this point, it's important not to get any more violations during the next 3 months or there will be a 2nd strike added. If you rack up 3 strikes your UA-cam channel will be shut down. So please follow the UA-cam community guidelines.
To finish this out click the Close Training button. On the last page I can confirm that my training is complete and it shows me the date of when my warning will expire. So now I wait 3 months and my channel will be free of any policy violations. If this video was helpful please give me a thumbs up and hit the subscribe button to stay up to date on all my weekly videos.
