    Professionally restored and powered by an era-correct Chevrolet V8, this impressive Impala SS is the kind of fully sorted cruiser that you can fire up, press the go pedal and road trip across the country in!
    Logging only weekend miles since its complete frame-off restoration, this top-of-the-line Chevy still displays immaculate bodywork that simply glistens under our bright showroom lighting. A lot of time and effort was put into making sure this big cruiser was extremely straight, which resulted in chiseled sheetmetal that's completely wave-free. That time was well spent as better-than-factory panel gaps perfectly center hinged pieces which move freely and close with a solid thunk. And those thunks are bathed in a rich layer of familiar GM code 918 Azure Aqua Metallic that's been sealed in a rugged clearcoat shell and buffed to a spectacular shine.
    Powering this real-deal Super Sport is a 327 cubic inch, era-correct V8 which wears a traditional 3782870 casting number behind a roster of correct equipment. And all of that, from the Chevy Orange paint and satin black fenders to the reproduction Delco battery and glass GM washer fluid bottle, is nicely detailed and ready to both show and go.
    One look underneath this sturdy cruiser reveals a solid X-frame chassis that's just as ready for the road as that stout 327. Power is put to the pavement by an era-correct Muncie 4-speed which wears a familiar 3851325 casting number. Holding that virtually unbreakable transmission off the ground is a restored double A-arm front and three link rear suspension. That suspension's handling is greatly enhanced by factory power steering and power drum brakes that are piped to a fresh master cylinder and an equally fresh brake booster. And at the corners of the floors, standard 14 inch steel wheels spin modern Hankook Steel Radials around Super Sport specific wheel covers.
    Covered in a contrasting white sheen, this Chevy's great looking interior has been restored to factory-fresh condition in virtually every way. The SS-specific front bucket and rear bench seats feel newer than the car's 48 years would suggest, and present just as well now as the day they rolled out of the upholstery shop. In front of those seats, a restored blue dash is chock full of rebuilt gauges, carries what appears to be an original Delco AM radio, and features a sharp and correctly centered tachometer. At the base of that dash a stylish, SS-specific console props a chrome shifter in from of a small, lockable storage compartment. And in front of the driver, a deluxe steering wheel spins around a traditional red, white and blue Chevrolet horn button.
    It's really no surprise that these cars are amazingly popular with almost everyone who sees them because they have such a great combination of style, presence and performance. Call, click or visit RKMotorsCharlot... for more information on this awesome Impala Super Sport!

    Loved these old Impala’s. Super hot fast and room for 6 with AC and a real V8 engine. Keep your dammed battery cars!

    How happy and happy I am to see this beautiful video!
    This fabulous car was the first one that my family had here in Buenos Aires, automatic with box on the floor.
    I spent more gas oil, but never went to the mechanic, since it was strong, noble and of superlative quality!
    I give my two bracos for having another one !!
    greetings from Argentina!!!!!!, my friends

    Beautiful car. I had one many years ago. Nice steering wheel but I'm partial to the stock one.

      That steering wheel was actually an option. It has a factory tach so it must be a 300 HP. Nice with factory four speed! Very nice and it would look a lot nicer with those fender skirts pulled off!

      When I bought mine from Pat it had the following.
      Factory Tach, M22, PS, PB 327/300
      The motor was pumped up a bit with TRW roller cam etc. and .60 over .
      Amazing how fast those old boats were.

    If GM want to be number 1 again. Just remake this. The simple car, no dealership mechanics, just shade tree mechanics.

    So I bought a 64 Impala that was sold as a sport hardtop but running the numbers it's an SS I don't know how they made thus mistake but it was well on it way to being restored as a standard sport.The rear quarters are new and I have a feeling the doors and fenders aren't original as its all setup for the standard trim side pieces how hard is it gonna be to get the correct side trim back on it? Is it just a matter of filling the bottom trim holes?Does the trim line up with the top holes?Help please I want to restore her back to her original glory!

    WHY? Why the fender skirts and two antennas? Contrary to hillbilly belief they did not come junked up with that stuff. I should know, at age 19, myself and 90% of people who bought them new and lived right in Flint and Detroit "car country" would never have had that stuff on them. Back in the day we wanted the "clean" look. I just don't get it. People down South or the less than hep backwoods people up north put that cheap jewelry on those cars, detracting from their real beauty. We would see a car with that stuff on it and check the license plate----sure enough it had Alabama, etc plates on it. I dislike seeing it as it doesn't truly represent the era. sorry, but truthful. Maybe one out of 100 cars had that stuff on them back in the day.

    • @montymatilda
      @montymatilda 4 роки тому

      They were both optional so... but I don't like the skirts either but I do like dual antennas and mirrors.

    • @Texas_Cruiser
      @Texas_Cruiser 3 роки тому

      Usually it was one antenna but when many of these were restored they "optioned" them out with those bells and whistles. Also you mention every 100 cars. There were many thousands upon thousands of Impalas made so considering the survivors which would typically be the higher optioned ones, the ones with the dual antennas and such are the ones that will be most common. Many fender skirts were ditched through the years but with Classic Industry and the likes there is a huge third party parts market for these cars. Same goes for the 5th wheel options on the 59 Impalas. Not too many but some got them. I personally like the 5th on the 59 but on some others it looks horrible.
