- ASV's VR7-armoured Land Cruiser was successfully tested by the Beschussamt Munich in Germany, a worldwide recognized independent ballistic laboratory.

If u forgot ur keys in land cruiser then the land cruiser will not lock it will make a loud noise like beep for a long time then u know the keys are inside

Did they test if the vehicle is still driveable after the test? If such horrible thing really happens, just protecting the occupant won't suffice: you also need to be able to run away.

There is no armored car operational after this amount of damages! Simply, if you are a VIP you have to aid to your convoy one or two Land Cruisers full of bodyguards ready to counterattack :)

2:30 slow down the video to minimum and youll see the windshield have a fatal flaw here boys. It flew away. Its not passed this one. But still 12.5 kg is enough to do a hole in a BTR90 if placed directly on it so this is pretty damn impressive.

the idea is to survive the attack. remember most of them have backup conveys, the main idea is that the precious cargo does not get injured. Many of my friends works in afghanistan where UN uses these. none of them come under so many types of attack at same time. either they hit a IED or get shot at ... also various levels of armour protection is there for various places.. too much heavy armour and you will need a tank engine to pull it.
if it passed then why not redo the video this time get inside the whole time with a gopro attached to your helmet you should get 5,000,000+ million views easily good luck ;)

Passive armour is not much good at protecting the occupants. The shock and noise would seriously injure or kill them. Armoured road vehicles are good at small arms, but it's better to try and avoid/evade explosions or larger calibre weapons.

Armor penetration is much greater with an RPG and that may have not been the goal of the tests. I agree though. It should have been included in any standard test; especially with the proliferation of the RPGs now.
I think the problem there is an RPG will kill basically anything short of an MBT unless it has rpg nets
But it's understandable that this guy's build great looking and descent protected armor cars , not UP ARMOR HUMVEE or MRAP , so thumbs up for that

All right. So I escape the bullets. But with my windshield visibility at zilch due to bullet splattering, now what do I do? Remember someone's firing at me, so I have to keep going. Is there an attachment to the front bumper that'll allow an alternative visibility?

What was those "weights" and things for they put inside to the car. Should they look like a human sit there or? And if yes why they didnt use the same ragdolls as NCAP crashtest use. Its not all about the bullet penetration, the impact force can send something else in side (like small plastic fragmentation) which hit you so u get small bleeding wounds. And yea like some one commented before i would like to see the minigun and the RPG results so i could see when it fails and how bad :P

They do protect against rifles, grenades and IEDs. They are meant to protect against terrorists and they are all over the middle east war zones. Remember they are defensive vehicles.

+Kurama You have to be realistic. As far as I know, there are no clear ballistic materials capable of defeating EFPs in this sort of application.
Armor can only do so much and you would never field reactive armor or missile defeating systems in a civilian vehicle. You rely on tactics to avoid those kinds of threats. Hence why POTUS travels in duplicate limos, helicopters, and even jets ("Air Force One" actually refers to two identical 747's).
Rpg does mean Rocket Propelled Grenade. But it is a penetrating explosive charge... That is why it is shaped like it is. Not only for aerodynamics....

The point of it being passed the test is only because after all the damage, occupants were safe, no bullet nor grenade reached inside. Imagine if it was a presidential convoy and the aim was assasination, they would have failed already

without the radiator you can still get about 50-100miles (if the driver knows what he is doing) but the radiator is bullet and blast proof and if the tiers are air less you can keep shooting all you want nothing is going to happen

ever tested it a sandwich mine (2 landmines stacked on top of each other) under one of the front wheels.. this was a big vehicle destroyer and loss of life that i know of.. seen the destruction it can cause to a car or truck even armored personnel carriers.. check images and footage of the Namibian Angolan war..

That's not entirely true, the shape of the rpg is more to due with the aerodynamics of the projectile so it can reach distances and not to go through stuff. The rpg explodes on impact so IF it happens to go through is because of a combination of speed of the projectile and the force caused by the blast focused in one specific point. Its is rare for an rpg to go through armor since it explodes on impact.
The point of it being armored is for the passengers to be safe, not for it to drive. I think it would drive though, seeing it could withstand all this.
So this vehicle saved those lives in benghazi 🤔🤔

So no EFP test? I'll admit the use of that much PETN was impressive, but a simple platter charge will probably still defeat this protection.
Spalling probably isn't an issue as much of the armor is ballistic cloth and the steel armor is thin. What often kills the passengers of IED'd vehicles that experience no major cabin intrusions is the sudden acceleration which makes parts of the body experience velocity differentials which cause shearing forces and over pressure in internal organs and vertabrae = butt accelerates faster than head -> snapped neck or scrambled brain/guts/heart

All those bullets dont harm it but if you shoot the tires out and shoot the radiator the car will be disabled. Then strap some c4 to the doors and the people inside will be taking a dirt nap
