I own one for about 10 month and it is a pretty good razor. Efficient and mild, aggressive only with the wrong technique. Having experience i get perfect BBS shaves. Shaving is cheap that way. But a shave takes 12 minutes or more.
I will never go back to cartridge razors.

I don’t understand the significance of “ beginner “ or the term “ learning curve. “ Of course I shave every day. So that might make a difference. But I bought a 37C and have been very pleased with it from the first time I picked it up. I use Astra or Gillette Silver Blue or Voskhod blades. They are inexpensive and I change blades after Three shaves.

I use the Wilkinson Sword Classic(black version of the razor) with Gillette Blue blades and get irritation on the neck when I go against the grain. I also used BIC Astor blades and got irritation on the neck even when I shaved after more then a month(in that month I trimmed with a beard trimmer). Usually when I shave more then a 3 day beard I get no irritation.

I recently purchased this razor from AMAZON, as in reviews this is said to be an aggressive razor, but I'm using it daily with Gillette black blades and get a BBS shave in just two passes, no nicks no cuts, no irritation however I get only there to four shaves with one blade.
