They were the top Canadian team before the 80s, a lot of people grew up watching them. Granted, not a lot to celebrate since then, a couple wins, a few cup appearances and conference finals, but still Legacy.

Oh yeah of course with the help of refs. 4 refs on the ice 2 of them clowns. Funny how 27 sec. Penalty. Few games ago Gallagher crosschecking player on the ice almost end of game and no Penalty what a joke 😅

Bro crosschecked Matheson 5 times in his back preventing him from getting up and somehow Matheson still got a 2 minutes for delaying the game on that play. Show that sequence to anybody and they'll tell you only Lowry deserves a 2 minutes, somehow we had the refs on our side, come on now... They took Matheson out just so people can't say they favored us and here you are lol. Ehlerr's tripping penatly was textbook tripping, he slashed both blades of our player, why are you even complaining? If anything complain about your guys taking weird decisions at the end of a game...

One thing about one player tonight against the Jets: The aggressiveness of throwing the body and blocking shots from #20. Anderson's playing well and deserves the credit, Habs can't hold a two goal lead in the match, doesn't matter because Justin Barron buries the goal with 3:51 left in OT. Let's move on Thursday against the Wild.

Huge win boys, Andy’s getting his stride back and Struble is a lock on D and breakouts. Gonna be tough to figure out who goes back down once Harris is healthy. Also that first line is making things happen, hope they can get it in the back of the net more often. GhG

Struble’s been good yes but the Habs will have to let him go back down, they need to trade away some dman at the deadline or sooner. We have too many Top6/7th dman in this organization. Xhekaj going down was a tough one to swallow.
Struble's first period breakout pass to Ylonen 0:54 was a thing of beauty. That kind of critical play wins hockey games.
The parity in the league is on point right now. Only a few teams are truly abysmal, and even those teams can win on any given night. I love a salary-cap sport. I cant watch baseball any more due to the lack of parity.
Was talking about this today with some buddies as well, not really any horrible teams, even the sharks are starting to come around and be competitive lol.

How do you explain the 5-2 whooping or the 6-2whooping against the avs
Regarding Montreal's second goal, there obviously needs to be a rule stating that when the puck is swatted towards the net, it should be classified as a goal-cancelling infraction whenever it isn't clearly evident that the same guy's stick came in contact with the puck (i.e. prior to the stick of a team mate).

As this young Habs team gets more and more experience, they can only get better.
For folks who are confused about the Habs fans at the game, Montreal and Toronto were the only Canadian teams in the NHL for a very long time. Older Canadians were likely cheering for one of those teams and their kids are now cheering for them and their home team. This happens right across Canada. I would guess many of those fans will be wearing Jets sweaters for the next game.

Montreal survived the first 12 minutes of the first period thanks to Allen. Habs got their legs going and made it a good game to watch with their big wingers Armia-Anderson-Slafkovsky matching Winnipeg's physical play. Good forechecking. Cheers

Allen played very well but the Jets should have easily won this in regulation. Missed not only great chances but SURE goals especially in that first period. Still give the Habs credit for their effort.

Cup Bound
The refs were questionable in this one against the Jets. And I was yelling at my tv when that commentator kept saying the puck rotated faster so it must have been hit with his stick. I was like dude the puck hitting the ice can make it rotate faster too, especially if the puck hits a chipped spot on the ice. There was no good evidence to overturn the call so I wasn't upset about that. But that commentary was pretty one sided like the refs.
Refs called a 2 minute penalty on Matheson for delay of the game because he got crosschecked 5 times in the back and couldn't get up. They sent him to the box so people wouldn't complain about them being in favor of Montreal but truth is, only Lowry should have been penalized lol. Pretty one sided you say huh? Or are you talking about Ehlers' penalty where he whacked both feet of the Habs player, making him trip over the stick? If anything blame your players' poor decision making skills, not the refs... 🤣

I FEEL so bad for the jets. half the fans were rooting for the habs?. It is in winnipeg. They should support more their nice little team. If there is a team i like more than my fav team is probably the jets because they are a small city dependant on hockey and hockey values and they try hard. Winnipeg has a relatively large population of Francophones. Prior to the Jets return, I myself was once on the "Dark Side".

I want to like this jets team but it’s hard when Ehlers and Lowry act like such whiners at the end there. Ehlers launches himself straight into Mathersons feet and complains for some reason, then Lowry crosschecks Matherson, like, 4 times including multiple times while he was on the ground and complains even though Matherson got a penalty for not being able to get up after taking 5 shots straight to the back.
and then some of the jets fans have the audacity to blame the refs. the refs were not too bad tonight maybe on the hand pass but tough to see

Ehlers wasn’t complaining about the tripping call, he was saying how he had to take that penalty because Anderson interferes with him, Anderson got away with blatant interference and Matheson would’ve had a clear shot at goal if it wasn’t for that trip
@@mariokartmatt51 Anderson barely touched him, he just happened to be standing in his way. They wouldn’t call that in the first period of a preseason game, much less the final minute of a tied game. Ehlers was just being a baby.

How much did Anderson pay the zebras? He closed his hand on the puck for one goal, and had uncalled interference which directly led to the game deciding penalty
look closely at the replay and you will see the puck change direction after he droped it, or maybe your brain can process it. I was not sure at first but people reviewing replays are better than us and of course way better than you. have a good evening.
@@SpooN12344321I’m not arguing that whether he touched it with his stick or not. The call on the ice was a goal and it wasn’t conclusive enough to overturn it. What I’m saying is prior to that Anderson closes his hand on the puck which you cannot do, unless I’m misunderstanding the rule
