Freddie Highmore's performance on the show is one of the best I have ever seen. Him and Vera Farmiga were the absolute best on the show.
him in the dress was hilarious! lol he musta all been like ''oh man! I gotta wear this? ok,,''
Lo-exactly 😂
They were but everyone was good . Dylan’s actor and Romero both top notch
Chick is my favourite character
@@About36Greekss Max Theiriot is the name of Dylan's actor. Yeah he is really good too...watched Pacifier and House At The End Of The Street... In the latter he was mind blowing
I love how Dr Edwards just instantly realizes oh hi Norma! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Facts 😭😭
He’s sooo great as playing both personalities
His gifts in acting especially behavioral mental illnesses is out of this world
Freddie Highmore is such an underrated actor, it’s criminal. I grew up watching him in family films and this was the first ‘serious’ role I saw him play. His portrayal of Norman freaks me out, it’s so sinister!
He also plays an autistic doctor
He plays a surgeon 😊😊😊
I highly recommend Finding Neverland, with Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet, and an immensely talented Freddie Highmore as a very young boy. Wonderful movie.
then there's TOAST. totally shocking@@valmacclinchy
@@cowboy_sheisty69420how is Norman Bates able to attract so many beautiful women?. He weird, awkward and creepy !!.
Switching between personalities and how a person behaves is rlly hard when acting, this just goes to show freddie is an amazing actor. Rlly wanna watch this movie
It's a tv series
It’s a show called Bates Motel
When Norman feels like he can't control his emotions mother comes to save the day. Because, as the saying goes, mother knows best. Creepy.
I never watched this, I've just started and it's amazing. It's sad though, really sad because deep down Norman has a good heart, the mental illness just takes over.
Not really. He knows he has a problem but he fakes feeling better so no one will realize he’s truly not ok
Ethan Bellof I hate Norman I’m glad he and Norma died
shannon willis then you’re too young too understand the show. 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Ethan Bellof ig so cause if Norma really wanted to protect Norman should would’ve been told him about blackouts and what he could do so he would know how to control himself but ig im too young🤷🏻♂️
shannon willis she tried, that’s why she wouldn’t let him get his license, and had him get serious therapy. Because she didn’t know what to do because she was afraid of him. I would be too. She did all she could, but Norman gave into his other personality.
I couldn't help loving Norman becoming Norma. Freddie was just so damn good at it! So seemless!
It’s kinda scary and really freaking impressive how he can just 🫰🏻change like that. Like I look forward to every “mother scene”
How Freddie never won or was at least nominated for an Emmy for his work on this show is a travesty.
The fact that he can be in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the Good Doctor, and in this one proves Range. This is one of the few times I can say, he is more of an actor than a star, and I mean it in the good way. I'm impressed by this guy
The switch was so scary. Face, body movement. Everything well done
It's eerie because it is almost like Norma is possessing Norman with the mannerisms and faces that he projects.
I’d be so scared if I worked this type of job omg
dude me too, I can't even watch the show which is why Im watching clips
the actor does a great job at capturing how it can, in fact, be scary to work with people that have severe dissociative identity disorder
How Freddie Highmore didn't win an Emmy (or even a nomination) as Norman is beyond baffling.
British actors are the best after all...no words for this show
The therapist is amazing! He seems to really feel terrible for this sick boy
Such a great actor, I grew up with him, seeing his movies and seeing how spectacular and well-rounded he’s as an actor is brilliant.
One of the most underrated shows of all time.
Chills when he turns into.mother. his acting is amazing
I got such chills when he said “what do you think of Norman”
Watching in 2022. This scene alone deserved an Emmy for Freddie Highmore. He even talks like Norma.
Any Psychiatrist/Therapist who's able to bring out another identity of someone with DID would feel very proud of themselves.
Not necessarily as they come out by being triggered. The good thing is being able to have a good conversation with the other identity.
Oh God I forgot he becomes Norma the last couple minutes here. What a show.
okay, I'm in love with Highmore.
Me too 😍
The first time I watched this scene, when Norman stopped pounding on the door and turned to look at Dr. Edwards I thought "Oh shit, he's switched. He's Norma."
Say, that Norman guy sure looks a lot like a certain surgeon
I thought they were gonna make out when he tried to calm down norman lmaoo
Or strangle him, byefelicia!
Yes I thought that too!
is that his real mom or step mom ?
@@Globaalnick Real mom and he was sort of attracted to her.
This is some of the acting I seen how does he not have tons of awards n huge recognition already
I always wanted to know if Vera acted out this scene as Norma too. I know they would switch out and collaborate on "Mother" in these types of scenes but we don't see Vera at all in this scene so i've always wondered if she was there to help.
i think this doctor was like the actual best and i love him
BEST Series I've ever watched.
EVER
He reminds me of patricia from split when he becomes norma
ive never seen this show or hardly heard anything about it, but im so used to Freddie Highmore as Shaun Murphy from The Good Doctor, so when I see Norman Bates talking and interacting like a person without austim, its weird and cool 'cause its like I'm seeing an Alternate Shaun Murphy if he didn't have austism or savant syndrome, and he was just a regular guy, i wonder how in some weird crossover fantasy, Lea or Glassman meet Norman Bates and they're like "Shaun? You're...different"
I can see Dr. Edwards writing his letter to the court.
"Please put this menace to society in the chair"
i miss this show😪
Bates Motel is on Netflix until February 20th, 2020
@@ElvisPresleyfan80 that's tomorrow 😱😱I just finished it tho 👍😉👍
Jackie Slovacek it’s still on netflix
@@KhristianM. yes
that pose though! 4:40
This is just more depressing than scary.
dr. Edwards calms him down like steve did with shaun in last nights good doctor episode. breathe...*whoo! whoo* lol
Guess he couldn't lead this operation.
I felt that as well, Krystal Harwood!
Man I wish we got an extra season
idk how to feel about this "mother" alter seduces the therapist right out the bat
Well she tried to seduce the doctor for real when she first met him so..:
Creepy painting on the wall. How would that be of any solace or help to a patient?
This show was so underrated ! Omg
Such a great actor
Love him ❤
I can not even convince my doctor i am depressed they must have had loads of norman bates actors in before.
dr Edwards face when he relizes it s norma 0_0 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Can someone please explain to me how this scene didn't earn Freddie Highmore an Emmy?
It’s too bad the great Anthony Perkins is no longer around to witness the amazing performances and great care given to this prequel series. RIP.
Why was the therapist lowkey being seduced
Given the mother is Norman’s perception of Norma, perhaps he sees his mother a a seductive woman
Actually it’s established in one scene that he is gay.
@@ddtheone1 but Norman didn't know that
@@awesomness36 True. But that’s not the question that started this thread right?
I Love this scene❤
how he was able to switch to his mom that fast is amazing amazing actor
Can’t believe Norman killed Dr. Edward ;(
In one of there sessions i guess? And he has black outs so he can't remember anything.
but were did he hide the body ......because he went missing and presumed dead .
@@patrickreyes7228 Kerry Ehrin said in an interview that they had written a scene for the Season 4 finale of Dr. Edwards visiting Norman at home to check on him following Norma's death but it didn't fit in with the rest of the episode and thus was never shot
i love this episode of the good doctor
Same
The good doctor is another personality of his
@@EeFIsMe we know
@@youtubehandler it was a joke?
Why is Dr Edwards so.. Calm 🤔
because he's used to stuff like that I guess
He has to not show any emotions that would sway Norman
@Jana ohh right I should have known 😂❤️
He's AFRAID/ FEAR, Chibi Chan!
Professional detachment
I think blud is a surgeon
As someone with DID, I have a love-hate relationship with this. The majority of us are NOT violent in the slightest. There is no such thing as an evil alter. It’s way better representation than Split, though.
His acting is amazing, and I’m probably going to binge this show. But just know, most of us are not like this. We are the victims. We were abused and hurt so much that we had to create people to protect us.
Yeah I think virtually all of us are not going to take our cues on mental illness from a psychological thriller that is fictional like Bates Motel. I think we realize it is somewhat based on reality, but exaggerated for dramatic effect.
Agreed, though it was overrated Norman deserves better, he was good boy and just victim.
I think it's a great depiction of DID that is brought on by someone like Norma. The trauma of killing his father is obviously not typical. Still the loss of time and disassociation is very surreal.
I can say I have the same disorder and I do unfortunately have an evil alter it’s not common but rare and it tourments me when evil thoughts take over
Evil alters usually harm the host not other people. That disorder comes from a large amount of trauma (usually violent&or deadly) and is literally the only way that child could handle that trauma was the shatter their personality so they could put it away and not have to relive it every day.
Can't believe we found out that he killed him.. or was suggested he was dead
Norma took over Normans mind and he let it happen because he loved his mother
No she shook his sense of self and guilted, shamed and abused him since he was a baby into supplanting his own needs with hers, not to "guard him from trauma" but because she needs control over people to feel ok with herself. She needs him traumatized to control him and he kills her as a consequence of her abuse. A lot of it is subtle but if you are interested in Narcissism or related mental abuse patterns they depict it with an eerie accuracy.
1:10 don't bring it up he goes crazy when you bring it up
Wow. RANGE.
Esta escena me flipa 🤪🤪 Pero no entiendo en la ultima temporada, Norman se encuentra con este doc y luego resulta que estaba muerto..?
Chick is my favourite character in this show, such a great, quirky, deep guy lol
Check Noma's fff at 5:45, just amazing.
hey tube lighten the picture of bates motel ... when the picture is so dark whats the use of showing these clips if theyre so dim.
what year is it in the show
It's a modern day prequel with the final season being the showrunners' own version of the movie so it starts in 2013 and ends in 2017, which is how long the show was on air for
Its meant to be set in the 60s 70s but also have that sense of modern day technology. This is meant to be a mix of modern day and olden days because the original film ‘psycho’ which was made in the older days and this was made in modern times basically a remake but in a series form and they try to add that sense of the film ‘psycho’ to make people know that this is based of the original film
Wow 😮. One look at…that, and he doctor 👨⚕️ knows that it’s Norma. Oh, he’s good 👍
In Therapy; Is it Possible that your mother wasn't just here yesterday, It seems like he may be patronizing him after he calms him down w/ breathing & asks if he learned that in school 'of course it is', I'm His Mother'! Do U think that this Dr is/ will be helping Him!?
happy birthday norman alias freddie highmore from italian boy live in rome and i m fan of this wonderful series
still wondering how did he die lol
Word on your
He sounds exactly like Jesse Eisenberg
i wonder when the Doc was killed he did go missing lol
The actor who played Dr Edwards said he apparently was killed off it just wasn't shown
Showrunner Carlton Cuse confirmed on Twitter after the series finale that Dr. Edwards was dead.
Kerry Ehrin said in an interview that they had written a scene of Dr. Edwards visiting Norman at home following Norma's death but it didn't fit it with the rest of the Season 4 finale.
today norman 32 years
did Freddie watch original movie from 1960
Yeah
Wow
°O°
Who else thought they were about to bone?
the problem with modern shows is, the weirdos are too attractive, they're not weird, they're charismatic
It's not only in shows
Ever hear of Ted Bundy?
Not every weirdo looks like a crackhead. Don’t be confused.
I have a Bates Motel speed paint that I’m really proud of if anyone wants to check it out
My idol ....🎉
Freddie Should Play as Light From Death Note Instead of Nat Wolff
Connect to the mystery
Norman is either a good bad actor or a bad good actor 🤔
I AM A SURGEON
Why he does not wear the blonde wig when he appears like his mother? So it's a dissapointment
He does later on in the series.
ANTWAN, COMMENTS SAYS IT ALL IN MY OPINION!!!GARY BAILEY KING OF DARKNESS AND GOD OF THUNDER AND LIGHTNING
He gay?
Dr. Edwards is gay
No
