Spray carb cleaner behind the clutch while it's running and see if that dead hole fires. If it does, you have a bad pto crankshaft seal. Also check your carb boot and reeds on that pto side. You swapped the pto plug wire to the mag side and it fired, so it's def not a spark or ignition issue. It's a lack of fuel issue, u just need to find out what is causing it. My money is on the crank seal, seen it before on these particular motors. I'm anxious to see if I'm right haha

I had this issue this year on the "new" 2002 polaris 550 classic we got. This is exactly what I did and put a new crank seal in to solve the problem. This was after replacing the reed valves!

Hi Mr. Rhydes & Valhalla Mike, I'm thinking the next step would be to get the ohm meter out. I like to trouble shoot electrical, no grease, gas, or oil to mess with! Ski-doo gives values for the ignition system parts. I would start at ignition coil, it doesn't seem like trigger coil. But you can't assume.... Thanks guys! 12k to go! I enjoy the sled vids and lookin forward to KLR, quad and pit bike stuff!!!!

Did you happen to check the reeds while you had the carbs off? Could have some bent or broken reed pedals on that cylinder. Pto side runs hot due to the clutch heat. Could have an air leak on the pto crank seal. Neither of these issues will show up on a compression test

In the video you have cleaned the carbs but the floats height were not check. If not in the specs it might flood the carbs. Not a bad idea to put new pilot jets. Also did you check the choke adjustment? Proper spark plug gap helps for good ignition. Finally you have changed the MEPM module, but when the engine is replaced (or new crank) it might be some calibration to do with buds software (i.e. timing). The module comes from another sled, so the calibration is not perfectly set for this mxz.

Spray break clean lightly on both sides of the motor. If it revs up it’s a crack in the carb boot or you are sucking air through the crank seal and it will make it run like that

Try filling up the gas tank to at least half way. If it runs better its probably the fuel pump or the hose that goes into the tank. Might be sucking air somewhere. Or impulse line for the pump.

Check your stater on it. Or the coil pack. If that Dosent work then check to see if you have a leaking crank seal. Spray carb clear on the back side of the clutch with it idling and if it revs up then you have a bad crank seal.
