Thanks for this video which is very helpful..do I absolutely need the power bank for the iPhone? Is there any alternative to this using my regular iPhone charger? Thank you
@@jenuds Thanks - but I will need the adapter with power and ‘camera’ input with the output connected to iPhone..I’ll need to buy the adapter (from Amazon I guess)..
The sound w reverb that we are hearing when you speak into the microphone - that sound is coming out from iPhone? Because there are no speakers connected to the scarlet audio interface.
I bought them from amazon. Here are the link to find the names: Things used in this video: Focusrite: amzn.to/46mU1vf Lightning camera adapter: amzn.to/3Ym2GdY 6.35mm male to 3.5mm female adapter: amzn.to/3Jc3Cvh Power bank: amzn.to/3Rt6rNu Lightning cable: amzn.to/3ZQPcIf TRRS or TRS: amzn.to/45NwinY amzn.to/467yaZ4 Stand: amzn.to/3NLC6Ii
I followed you step-by-step using a focus right mono and the problem that I had is I don’t think the power is enough and so the phantom power would not come on and condenser Mike half of course did not produce any audio so I’m not sure the syrup is compatible with the mono, but that’s what happened with me
If you also used power bank like I did in this set up and still you think power is not enough try to plug it to you computer or try connecting a power block to plug to a power source or wall (I meant the brown lightning cable I used in this video which is connected to the camera lightning adapter).
@@jenuds the main reason I was excited when I found your video is thinking that it will allow me to record to my phone. However, if I plug the cable to the wall or to a computer then I am not going to be able to record to my phone. Makes sense?
I meant you’re charging your phone while recording. This means focusrite is connected to your phone. Using a lightning a camera adapter that has lightning port- that’s where you connect your lightning charging cable to connect to power block or to your computer.
So I have a question, so I have a pedalboard and I want to connect left and right into the channel on scarlet and leave the rest the way it is but idk where I can connect my laptop to play UA-cam, idk if the usb on the back to scarlet will work on the laptop so it can play the background track. Hopefully this makes sense
As you are aware Scarlett 2i2 only recognized input 1 and 2 for recording to an audio software. Connecting a laptop playing you tube is possible however you have to combine the laptop with one of the input by using an audio splitter. In this set up you will not need the iphone and portable charger, instead you can open an audio software from the laptop and then connect a 3.5 TRS from the headphone port of the laptop to the line or where you want to combine it with.
"That’s a good video, but I have a question. I connected all the cables like you did and tapped on channel #1. I'm able to hear both ears with the mic. If I switch to stereo, I hear the left ear as the mic and the right ear as background music, thanks!
Hello, Great video, but I have a problem. I have the same devices as yours, but doesn’t work, sometimes the interface turn on, but sometimes doesn’t. I have a question, is your connector original ? (The white one which is connected to the iPhone). Because when it starts working the sound doenst come well and sometimes it’s interrupted. Thank you
Yes adapter is from Apple Store. The lightning adapter I bought from amazon didn’t work for recording and streaming coz it’s only for headphone adapter.
@@jenuds yeah That’s probably the solution cuz o bought the lighting from Amazon (generic ) and I can see it has to be original from Apple for the interface to work properly. Thank you
@@walternarvaez8557 Right. Someone has message me before that adapter that supports calling works for recording or streaming however I can’t attest to that as I don’t have that kind of adapter yet.
This was great! Can you do one showing how to include video with audio in a similar set-up? Like maybe just recording a single instrument (piano or guitar for example) with video and audio performance? Thank you!
I hope you’ll get the idea from this video. In this video, you can connect an instrument to the focusrite instead of live streaming, open the camera of the device then record from there. ua-cam.com/video/wIoZmx7UsJw/v-deo.html
I need some help. I connected by Dynamic Mic + Guitar with the scarlet 2i2 to my iPad. When I hit record, I started singing and recording. When I tried to listen to the output, I could Hear only the guitar and not my vocals. Not sure what I did wrong.
Another device yes. Sorry this is the only set I know for now. As noticed in this video, garage band is where you get the vocal effects. I don’t know yet how to open garage band and tiktok in 1 phone.

It depends if the phone has enough power to give to the Focusrite, then yes. It’s always good to connect a power bank or source or to a computer. You should connect the Focusrite to the device where you can use app (phone or iPad/tablet) or software (laptop/computer ( which gives you vocals effects. However if you don’t want vocal effects, then you can record directly to the device you connected your Focusrite. I’m sort for recording with effects needs at least 2 devices but without effects - 1 device is ok.
hello, i have a question. i just did the same installation along with the same instructions and cables as mentioned in the video and i did record a song however, after the recording is done i noticed that the vocal is coming from left ear while the music from the right one. having said that, i have switched the input to stereo since you have mentioned that it must be stereo in order to record music + vocal. Now, how can i record and listen to the recording after it is done in both ears (music + vocal) as this is very annoying to listen in one ear. Appreciate your prompt reply!
Hi, very sorry for the super late response. I have to admit I am not expert really in regards to mono or stereo output. When I said set to Stereo, I meant you have to set the channel in the Garage band to Stereo to be able to record both the music and the vocals. I find it weird coz when I set the focusrite Direct monitoring to Mono (one circle is lit up), I can hear both mic and music on both sides of my earphone. Have you tried it?
Your set up should be something like this video in this link but you have to open the garage band on the iPad then you record to the iPhone instead of streaming ua-cam.com/video/wIoZmx7UsJw/v-deo.html
Hello ma’am for best singing live streaming on TikTok we use focusrite interface or any good sound card u will recommend me few of sound card name I want to buy plz reply me
In my opinion Focusrite will have the best audio output however you will need more gadgets with 3rd party application like garage band to make it work or a computer with DAW (Audio Software). For easy use, go for Maonocaster Lite, E2, Synido Live 100 or K300. Again I am not sure which are compatible with tiktok
Have you tried recording video using iphone camera? Instead of garage band? Can the iphone camera record the minus 1 music from youtube at same time record your voice and video using the focusrite?
Im using the common V8 soundcard and I can record directly on the iphone camera.. so i can save the video, with the music background audio from YTUBE and my recorded voice. Is it possible also to the focusRite?
I think no not unless you use a different app than you tube. Once iPhone camera is open you won’t be able to open you tube. Now you should use Starmaker or Smule app to record a song with one device. Not with focusrite as to get the vocal effects from the garage band or other app.
excellent presentation
Thank you 😊

Do you have to to have garage band open to make the Scarlett turn on ?
When garage band is open, when you connect the scarlet it should automatically detected if it’s already on or when you turn it on.
