Hi Pilots its Pilot 83 here! So this new little helicopter by Nemeth Designs I picked up a few days ago on the MSFS2020 marketplace. I saw today how the ratings on this helicopter have gone not so good. So lets check it out and discuss why its getting such bad ratings.

Back in the day, I loved Nemeth Designs products for FSX. But, for MSFS2020, I cannot get the thing to want to hoover. The helicopter, in ground effects goes into lumbering oscillation that gets worse as seconds progress. Out of ground effects, it gets better, until you attempt to land or hoover. I am playing around with controls sensitivities specifically for the S300. Making the controls insanely twitchy kind-a-sort-a helps. I hate this, and this is the only helicopter in MSFS2020 that does this.
A correction this NOT Nemeth Designs first release to the Marketplace, its the 4th. Previously they released the Yakovlev Yak-18T, Marchetti S.205-18/R, and Partenavia P68B. And they have a reputation for no opening doors, and they are slow to update their stuff.
And the Aerolite 103 as well.
This use to be the gold standard for training was it not? Many now using the sweet French Guimbal Cabri. And not to forget the Bell and Robby 44😊
Thanks for the video, it's a relief to know it's not me. I've been flying helis in the sim since the Hype H135 came out and i love the wild Bell 47 but when i flew the 300 i really couldn't see where i was going wrong. I hope they fix it, I love the heli, and happy that its not my flying skills! 👍😁
Such a shame, I love the 300, very aerobatic in the right hands and great fun. Thanks for the review, keep us posted with a follow up if they fix it? Have you dropped a note to the dev? I’m sure they are aware of the low ratings but because the MP doesnt provide detail on the rating reasons they may not now why!
Hello, I bought this helicopter but it cannot be flown, this helicopter was my dream that it will come this way, but you cannot fly it even after update 1.02, I do not understand that a company is putting this for sale, it is currently nothing worth it, my only hope is that they solve the problem, because all buyers are affected.

It is very nice once i take out the spring from the x55 even with the bug and just PULL OUT THE FUSE. It is very much flying like a DCS helo, though i do feel it perhaps has a sligth bit too much innertia.

Trim issue fixed in a patch today for those that bought it through their website. Picked it up today and it flies like a dream on PC. Hope you get the update soon on Xbox. Sounds need work for sure and disappointed the doors don't open, but it looks and flies great. for the money I'm very happy, though I'd rather have paid more and got better sounds and opening doors. Absolutely no complaints about the flight model though.
Not fixed yet.. v1.0.5 still trim broken...
The control input has about a half-second lag and then a very mushy response, which ithink is incorrect for such a small, nimble machine. That's what makes it so impossible to fly. I wrote them about it.

This is a modern version of thr hugh th-55 train and this behavior seems to tally with with what mason mentioned in chickenhawk.
With the older Flightsin versions I would just go to the cfg and the airfile and try to fix the stick response myself but with 2020 I have no idea where to find the entries.
IF A DEVELOPER READS THIS (sorry for the caps) - can you tell us where to a) lessen the control input response lag, and b) to tighten up the input response time (more tight, less mushy)? That would be awesome!
Or if that's too complicated, maybe explain how to replace the original airfile with that of another helicopter? Thank you so much in advance! I wrote to Nemeth about it but haven't gotten any response. I know those guys must be busy...
I’ve had this now for a couple of weeks since the update showed on console. Even though the trim issue is resolved, for me, it’s still so unstable I can’t fly it. Any advice / help would be most gracious.
Okay folks, I'm just eating my words. I was one of those who found this thing unflyable and was convinced that something was wrong with the flight model. Today I found out, it isn't. I tried and tried to master this thing with little success, but all of a sudden, something snapped. You gotta realize that this thing has a very narrow flight envelope, but once you manage to stay within that envelope, she is absolutely controllable, and I've been able to set her down on a dime. The key is - you have to immediately and decisively countercontrol any tiny movement she does, and then, as soon as she reacts, you have to just as decid3dly neutralize your input. It's like when you as a kid learned to ride a bicycle, it all of a sudden snapped and you were off and going. It's basically you have to match every move she does, exactly as it happens, but in the opposite direction. Once you yot a feel for it, she is actually a very sweet flyer!

Funny, how many times it’s been sold to other helicopter companies. Everyone’s had a go at it except Robinson it seems. lol😊
Thank you for the video! I've now bought the S300. But I'm not happy with it! With the Saitek x52 I use the same settings as the Alouette III and the H125, which I fly very well with. But the S300 sways in all directions! I can't fly it stably. The center of gravity indicator shows a flashing red cross behind the center of gravity. Is that the reason? I fly the Dreamfoils S300 in XP11 with no problems. The model is much better than the Nemeth variant and the sound is great! Thanks.

guten abend habe eine frage oder ein problem und zwahr habe ich den helicopter gekauft leider kann man den aber nicht fliegen man kommt kaum ab dem boden und wen ja dreht er sich im kreis egall was ich mache und die unterstüzungen sind eingeschaltet kann mir jemand helfen oder sagen was ich machen mus
good evening i have a question or a problem and yes i bought the helicopter unfortunately you can't fly it you can hardly get off the ground and if so it turns in circles no matter what i'm doing and the supports are switched on can someone help me or say what i have to do

I really want to like this heli - really. I got it on the marketplace and today there was an update. So I went and tried it out - and it still has mayor issues (at least compared to other high-end helo's in MSFS (Alouette, Some CowanSim stuff etc.).
Issue no 1: Lateral trim does not work at all - regardless how much trim I give - no effect
Issue no 2: It flies like a tin roof - very unstable - there is no way I can make it go more or less on a stable course - constantly fighting this thing
Now, I have seen your clip. Begs the question now: Am I just dumb? Why can I fly all other helo's but this one not?
If you had to compare this helo with any other (good) helo in the sim - does it hold up? How do you hover in this thing? When I take off it's like all over the place - regardless how careful I am...
Really wondering about your insights here.

That's one of the problems with ratings. I don't rely on other people's opinions...BUT. .
You gotta make quality stuff. Mistakes will happen, updates will come, lessons will be learned.

• and at the end of the day, I wish it was a "finished" product...but as long as the follow up, we'll see how this goes.

I *would* love it. The Trim Issue and terrible stability are what make it an awful product though.
These issues are not present on any of the Cowan Sim helis.
And the PC elitist nerds seem to think we're wrong about the heli.
Plus, according to most on the forums, the developer is *horrible* at updating their products.
I hope it gets fixed, but I doubt it.

Yoooooooooo right now it’s almost becoming laughable! I go to download the new update and it automatically deletes the entire game and now my xbox won’t even allow me to download it🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 bra! It’s a clown show at this point!
