    hello mate, I am bit confused with the sets of batteries, I just needed to get a light to be on for 10 second then cut off .. what s with the batteries ? thanks mate

    Hey justin, thanks for the clip. I have a doubt. Suppose you had connected the LED cable to the other point, and when you turn on the supply for the timer and turn it off, will it power on the LED for the additional time before turning it off?

    I need to know if re-applying power within the time interval resets the time interval without powering off the LED. For example, in the case of a refrigerator light, if you wanted to have the light come on when you opened the door, and remain on for 10 seconds after you close the door, but if you open the door again before the 10 seconds are up I need the light to stay on (resetting the 10 second count rather than completing the count). Is this how this device functions?

    hi Justin im looking for a circuit that does the switching continuously every few seconds..that means the NC and NO of the output connections must do this continuous off and on every few seconds..will this board do that?

    I need help I know nothing about this stuff. I have a 12V motor I need to make reverse polarity on its own to make it go clockwise/anticlockwise/clockwise/anticlockwise, etc… I have a manual switch I hooked up but it’s really time consuming standing there flipping it back n forth for the 15 minute period each time I use it. Can anyone help me? The easiest solution is what I’m looking for not the cheapest. Can I pay someone to wire up a module for me?

    how big of a load will it handle of the output side. Would it handle like a 12v horn hooked to a 12v car battary

    Hey, Justin, is that a Velleman kit? I made one of their interval timers and it kinda does what I need but I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of the interval part so I only get a short pulse when power drops out instead of it cycling. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    So can you use this for a on 10 sec off 10 sec on 10 off 10.....and so on in that sequence?

    Is it possible to replace the centrifugal switch of a single- phase motor, adgusting the start-up time?

    Sure would be nice if there was a way to add a trigger or mini switch. Normally with the 555 there is a pin used for a trigger. I noticed on the one I just purchased, there are 2 small holes behind the green power part. One hole is connected to the trigger pin on the 555 and a resistor, the other a LED. Has anyone tested those to see if that is the trigger. sure would be nice to keep this connected to a 12volt system and trigger on demand. Great Video, really helped allot with instructions!

    • @njfulwider5
      @njfulwider5 7 років тому

      Let me correct my last statement. On this device it looks like Pin 2(trigger pin) is not connected to anything on the board. It may be possible to short Pin 2 with the ground and get this to trigger(fingers crossed). The pin I was talking about was the reset pin. The reset pin is connect to a resistor, and than the hole. I don't have anything to test right yet. Have you had a chance to play around with this? I plan on pulling off the 100K pot and adding a 10 turn. Than hopefully, finger crossed find a way to trigger while leaving connected to 12 volts.

    1. If you use it with CB and you set it to turn off in 10 seconds ....as soon as you turn power on it will turn on for 10seconds and then turn off? 2. In that scenario, how long does it stay off (forever or only a short amount of time)? 3.In the same scenario if you kill the power and turn power back on is the 10 second delay off reset?

    • @weeral1
      @weeral1 9 років тому

      Hiren Patel 1. CB means normally on.. so you will have continuity between "com" and "cb" until you give the untit power. ck means normally open.. so it only has continuity with "com" when the relay is triggered. Controlled by the board. Basically you have continuity from "com" to either "cb" or ck". if you use ck you will have a delay when you power up the board. if you choose cb you will havepower until you power the board on.. at which time you will have up to 10 seconds until power shuts off. Hope this made sense. It's simple once you understand it. 2: 0-10 seconds. 3: Yes it resets each time you turn the power off.
      All that being said I ordered 3 of these from a different seller.. all 3 died within seconds of use. Pure garbage.

    This may have been asked..but what would happen if you went from output directly to led without those aa batteries..it should be fine as long as led is at 12v or is the output 5-6v only...thanks

      Frank Alvarez ..thanks for reply and sorry for confusion..what i meant to ask was can you run led straight from the 555 output instead of running through the aa batts???..what is output voltage from the 555??..5-6v or 12v??..in other words why use aa batt instead of running led straight from the 555...thanks

    • @frankalvarez7387
      @frankalvarez7387 6 років тому +1

      So the 555 timer can supply up to 200mA on the output pin wich is pin number 3 and you would need resistor if you want to run the circuit from 12V 1kohm would do.
      Depending on the model of the 555 timer you have it can take up to 18 volts but to be sure google the datasheets for them
      Or if you wanted to have the same supply go through the relay you would connect the common terminal of the relay to ground and the Normaly open to the cathode or negative of the LED and the positive of the led would to to the positive supply rail.
      here is video on how the 555 timer works ua-cam.com/video/fLaexx-NMj8/v-deo.html
      and how relays work ua-cam.com/video/1_YfuH_AcxQ/v-deo.html
      Remember LED diodes take 3V to turn on so make sure you use resistors in order to protect them from burning out. Have fun :) and happy experimenting :D

    Hi mate wondering if you can help me? I've bought one of these off the Internet just waiting for it to arrive, I need to power something on 12v turning on every second and off every second so continually in this cycle, is this possible or have I just waisted my money?
    Thanks
