Buying a home in Canada has become an impossibility because there simply isn't enough housing at all. I mean people sleep in tents on the sidewalk in Canada. The only problem with that is the temperature in Canada is -20 below zero Celsius. People die on the streets of Canada every year from the cold. Some people even apply for Medically Assisted Death (MAID) because they can't find any housing in Canada. Better to die in a nice comfortable hospital bed then in a tent on the street from the very cold weather in Canada!

Even in Bay area, elderlies are being beaten in streets, there are shootings at night, so much robberies and break-ins. Two years ago, I spent 2 months in Tehran, I can go out and walk at 11pm without being worry about getting mugged. I can drive to Ramsar for 3 hours and live in the most scenic ranch that you can't find any place in the world (closest thing would be in villages in Switzerland or in Tuscany). It will only cost you $17 a day. People are super friendly and very helpful and Iran has the best doctors on the world. I am not into drinking or clubbing so who cares about those things.

It would be interesting to learn about commuting and public transport if you haven't done that already. Also, do the different districts have separate councils with different companies contracted for public cleaning and the like, or does Tehran have one central administration for these matters?

60% of buildings in Tehran can't withstand a 7.0 Earthquake. 30% cant stand a 5.0 Earthquake. The next massive quake will results in over 1 million deaths and become the most catastrophic urban disaster in human history. It's astonishing how people in Tehran are not more outraged by this statistic. The city is long over due for a large earthquake and there is nothing being done to mitigate the damage but reinforcing the buildings. During peak urbanization, Tehran had no regulations. Developers built apartments without any steel pillars. It's a scary place to live.

Being Australian the most surprising thing to me was that the deposit was basically one year’s rent.
One year’s rent and hyper inflation means the deposit is worth next to nothing after the year.
Can you pay the deposit in OZ of gold and get the same OZ back after a year to avoid the hyper inflation on the deposit?
In Australia the deposit is normally one month rent and the rent is payed one month in advance, so to move in a person has to only come up with the equivalent of two months rent.

The so called deposit in Iran is absolutely perverted. It is not a deposit at all but a hidden 2nd rent. You have to consider that the deposit is in the local currency which devalues annually between 10-25 %. What the landlord does is to put your deposit money in a bank and getting around 20 % annual interest from it. At the end of contract you will only receive the initial amount of deposit, no interest.

And if /when you leave -- do the landlords typically give you back your deposit or no… those are extremely high deposits especially if one is only gonna be or stay there short term 😳🤔😉

*Can anyone tell me if Iran was built by Irani architecture companies or western ones. Also, what year Irani government started building Iran's infrastructure? Do people in Iran get electricity, gas, and clean tap water 24 hours everyday, and all year long? Do Irani governments provide free hospitalization, free medicine, ambulance service, monthly unemployment allowance to those who are unemployed, and pregnancy leave with pay to Irani citizens? Does Iran have a high rate of divorce or low?*
