Beautiful jars of pickles, I’m on my last jar of bread and butter. You have to make the recipe I sent for the olive oil pickles, they are so good and you only have to make the same size jar you just used. Aren’t you lucky getting goodie’s out of your garden going to be a while for I get anything and it won’t be much cause I’m not planting much. Gay I think the powers that be for some demented reason don’t want you to have chickens anymore.
Poor chickens that get sent here. My grandson brought me 8 more from the farm where he works. It is a place for kids to go have fun...see animals etc. They get rid of the hens when they get bigger and replace with little biddies. so...not I have 11. We shall see. I have taken extra precaution around my coop....I"think" they are safe now.

I always enjoy your videos. My cucumbers and jalapenos are no where near being ready here in zone 7B so I will have to come back and watch again so I can make pickles. I want to try the carrots too. I drink milk kefir everyday, I think gut health is so important, especially with all of the processed foods we tend to eat. I will try and remember the tip about food poisoning and drinking ferments. I know that my (adult) daughter had a terrible stomach flu and she drank milk kefir everyday, she was better in 2 days. My (adult, married) son got the same flu, did not want any kefir from Mom, he suffered for 8 days with it. Loved your story about growing up, memories are precious! I try and stock my pantry a little bit every week, we have had some bad storms with awful winds, I will pray that you escape the hurricanes. God bless you!
by the way my small town of Decatur AR got 2 tornadoes sunday morning at 1am, The 1st was a EF3 and the one right behind our hillside was an EF2 :( SO scary but God protected us and our property, we felt so blessed with so many in the path of the destruction :(

I think how you added the garlic and peppers would make all the difference in the world. Our spring has been so cool that I haven't even put any peppers in the ground. Hoping to get the garden planted soon. We actually had a frost warning last night. Praying your area stays safe from the scary weather. You keep right on telling folks to get their pantries stocked, it is so important.

Dear Miss Gay, I'm not an expert by any standard but I have heard that you should just wash, not peel the carrots because peeling them takes away the good bacteria needed for fermentation. I do hope they turn out good for you but if they don't, that could be why. Many blessings! 💜🙏💜
Thank you for your info. I did peel them before and they did fine. I will let you know this time. Ihave always heard that the vitamins are stronger in the peel....I just don't like how it ruffles up when its cooked ....looks nasty to me. hahaha
I'm so sorry about your poor little chicken. Darn critters. I remember as a small child we always had fermented veggies and pickles on the table at suppertime. I wonder why my mom quit making them? Bread and butter are my favorites. Today was such a sad day for America with Trump being found guilty. Thank God he has a appeal. We've got to keep praying for Trump and our Country!
