No Barry you got it done. They sold you off as the Barry Sanders Show. There was no serious effort for the team to win a ring, if it happens it happens, and if it didn’t it didn’t. As long as your ass was selling tickets that’s all Ford wanted so you did got it done.

@@chrisisslick yep, imagine him swapping spots with Emmitt on the cowboys and he would hold every record or if he would have ended up with Steve Young and the 49ers. If he had been on a winning team and in title contention he probably would have played 8 or 10 more years, losing is not fun.

But i respect Barry too much to say anything bad about his dad but what he said about him at his Hall of Fame induction speech was even offensive to me and i better had just leave it at that. But as far Jim Brown goes he was playing in a time when defenses were generally much slower and less complex than today and players as fast and strong as Brown would simply abuse them. Just imagine what Barry would have done against those teams in the 60's and 70's,...oh wait i forgot that Brown retired in '65 after just about 8 seasons...and i thought he was supposed to be Mr. Reliability or something like that?

I've seen Barry outrun people with one shoe on. Love Barry but wish he would have left our beloved Lions to get a ring. GOAT for sure. Thanks for all the great runs I was lucky enough to see in person.

Have always admired him for going out on top and not being bothered with personal records, just performance.

Probably the most physically gifted athlete to ever play the game…,
Barry is an example of a person to look up to.
