No problem. Glad it was helpful. We just decided to grab whatever was on the shelf and compare them. Different chokes might pattern different but probably won't be too far off. Good luck this year!

Nice job on these patterning videos! I've been shooting Mag Blends for a few years but after shooting a couple of birds this year I'm down to only 3 shells so I'd been contemplating the move to TSS...but rarely shoot a turkey past 40 yards so I may just pick up the LB Magnum 6's based on this video.

I'm a big fan of the XRs #6. I stoned a gobbler at 50 yards earlier in the season. Usually I like to keep the shots within 40 but after doing this video I was confident 50 wouldn't be a problem

Good videos! It's nice to see someone actually shoot their turkey guns off a bench...especially if you put a sight on it. What i found patterning my shotgun was beyond 40/45 yds you need to take pellet drop into account, just like when shooting a rifle. And most of your 60yd patterns seemed to be low. I have found it best to use a larger back board that i attach the target to in order to get a better picture of where the center of the pattern is on those longer shots. my guess is that you should be holding at the top of the tom's head or a little higher at that 60yd range. jm2c

Thanks, wanted to use the lead sled to get the most accurate shots possible and to be honest turkey loads aren't the easiest on the shoulder. I did notice some drop at the 60 yard mark aiming at the neck so if I end up shooting that far at one I'm aiming at the top of the head. Hopefully I don't have to take a shot past 30.

To me shotgun shells and rifle bullets are the only part of your gear that actually touch the animals. I spend way to much money on other gear to not shoot the best ammo I can possibly get. You guys should shoot some handmade TSS shells and see the performance. Federal TSS to me for their price are the worst of all the TSS loads out there. Also the purpose of TSS is so you don't habe to shoot those 3.5 inch shells. A 2 3/4 inch 12 gauge TSS with 1 3/4 or 2 ounces of shot and a 1 5/8 ounce handmade 20 gauge shell from my experience doing the same thing you guys just will did is all you need to 50 yds!

We talked about trying to get some custom TSS loads but wanted to show a comparison of what you can find in most stores. I really wanted to see what some of those Apex loads could do but none were available around here.

Yea youve got a few stores that carry them, but those are order from factory usually. I use them and they are lights out in my 20 gauge and 410. I used the 3 inch 2 1/4 ounce 9's for a couple years till I started sub-gauging. The choke that I found works best in my Browning was a cheap old HS Strut Undertaker.

Nice video.. But being a lifetime NWTF member & hunting turkeys for over 20 years I'm definitely not here for the TSS or the longboard XR ammo.. After spending $$$ on ammo & chokes not to mention countless hours at the pattern board over the years I'll stick to my Remington SP 10 ga shooting Federal Grand Slams in #5's through my original Primos Jelly Head Choke Tube.. i like watcing pattern videos, but no matter what combination of choke and rounds people swear are the best shoot diferrently in every gun. You can't watch a pattern test on youtube and assume it will be good for your shotgun. My 935 with longbeard xr couldn't kill a barn at 40 yards. Even with carlson's choke it shoots like absolute trash. I use TSS with mojo turkey choke and holds a pattern to 50 yards.
