- This is an interpretation of “Alive” by Alexander Pappas & Aodhan King (Hillsong Young & Free) for bass guitar. Forgive the self-indulgent noodling at 34 seconds; the bass line actually starts at 55 seconds.
This video is for bass instructional purposes only (as well as fun); soli deo gloria.
Some days I feel like a pretty solid bass player, then there are days I come across a juicy bassist, and throw my hands up in the air.
Today was that day for me as I just found this guy LOL
SAME

I accidentally disliked this when I went to see why 35 people thumbs downed your slapping the bass. Good stuff man!

Amazing gift dude, what a talent...best MM5 string tone on you tube...please do a video and blog on your equipment and how your dialing up that awesome tone ....
This is pretty good, but it would be better if you added some choreography.

+Daniel Solorzano Thanks so much! I love this instrument.
😮😮👏👏👏👍👍👍 MOUNTRUO
That scale you do throughout the song and at the very end is kicking my butt. You need to show that in slow motion.
+David Benavides Haha, thanks. Send me your email address and I'd be glad to send you a private link! I
+Joel Patterson David.christy777@hotmail.com
+Wataka TV Thank you so much! It's a great song...
+Joel Patterson were you able to send that private link?
Hi David! I am so sorry; I made the video and tried to send it to the email you gave but it came back undeliverable. Do you have another email account I could send it to?
Again, sorry for the delay...
Mr. Patterson, that slide before the refrain/re chorus starts. it's from B to B, correct?
Could someone send me the tutorial to that scale he did in the beginning when he was coming in? Thanks
I would like to know which sacales do you use, would be that possible??

Muy buen video amigo, que amplificador estas utilizando o que procesos tiene el bajo?

It seems that the video cannot be found. Perhaps it was the wrong link? Try sending it to chels6089@gmail.com
wow
Wow
Hey I'm 16 been playing since I was 10, any tips on how to play better?
Uh, sure! Do you have any videos of you playing?
Dude the multieffects behind you.... ummm is it Boss ME 20B?
+ivan christian Mangubat yup! I wasn't using it for this video, but I love the compressor and EQ on that thing.
+Joel Patterson Oh, okay so did you use any effects for the song?
A little bit of compression and EQ... I think that's it!
Can you tell, how make this tone?
+Василий Степанов Sure thing! Not to sound like a bass snob, but most of the tone comes from the way I'm playing (R hand technique). I am running through a little compression and have scooped the highs a little bit. My touch is light and I'm playing fairly staccato, which ends up sounding good with compression. Does that help? What bass do you play? Are you having success finding a good tone?
+Joel Patterson I play on jazz bass )) thank you!
just one advice. don't over play. too many lines and you didn't perform the main one and the easiest one. keep up
Miguel Benitez haha thanks Miguel. 😂
Yeah the beauty of a baseline is simplicity... charging it to much can take away from the rest of the song..
Tabs?
It seems to me that no one knows the difference between a tutorial and a cover. Why advertise it as a tutorial when its clearly a cover. Dictionary time for you.
+Phil Bartlett I hear you, Phil. I personally learn best from watching and listening, so I would still consider this a tutorial, but I understand your frustration. Hope you find a good tutorial elsewhere.
