For the purposes of this video, Hermione happens to be Jim's sister.
Story:
Hermione had decided that she can't take much more of being a member of Starfleet, and she knows that Spock will never be able to let her go so she erases herself from his memory. As she erases herself, Hermione sees all of the things that she and Spock had been through, her torture, Jim's capture and death, trying to find Khan and bring Jim back. After she see's all this Hermione realizes that she could not only never abandon Spock, but Jim and the rest of the crew as well and decides to stay, restoring Spock's memories of her.
