Awesome tutorial as always. I was wondering however if you've ever tried doing this same idea but without one continuous spline? I'm trying to do text writing in the sky much like a plane would do in real life...so there would be gaps in between the different parts of the letters rather than one continuous path. For some reason in my file when trying to do this however, the thinking particles all only want to work for the first letter (or spline). Any ideas? Thanks!
I actually found a work around...but it's probably not the best. I just made one long spline sweep, and in the sweep's "scale" settings, adjusted the spline in between the letters so that it would disappear between letters.
You should be able to make all letter splines into one spline by selecting all of them and right clicking the splines and selecting "Connect Objects". Then that will essentially make one spline object out of multiple ones and allow thinking particles to see all of the spline letters. Hope that helps!
Is it possible please for you to give me a link to the shader texture?.... I can't find that other tut where you say he/she does it... I think it's been removed or outdated?
Ok, it was a refresh... argh! I'm using a tarus instead of the word, but now I do not see the count setting in the matrix object, I do remember changing it to a higher number. But now its gone.
Can´t you just use the linear fallof of the shader and animate it left to right? instead of using a gradient and filter. anyway, great tut as always. thanks for all your work.

My particle geometry renders as well. I get this huge square cloud that takes forever. Why does your particle geometry not show up when you add one?

You can but it wont follow the cursive letters like its writing on, it'll be linear and not look very good
Some qestion. When i generate TP from xpresso and then translate it in matrix, scale dsnt work in shader deformer, but pos work?
Maybe try local matrix vs global? I'm not too great with Xpresso.. :)

I can´t for the life of me get this to work. It just won´t render the clouds shapes. I have followed the tutorial exactly.
For some reason almost all my particles are on the very beginning and very end of my spline
nvm i fixed it by putting caps to none
