The farm that the zeppelin came down was my great great grandfathers John Maryon. His son also John, came home on leave from WW1. That weekend the Zeppelin came down. Because so many people came to see the crash site, they trampled all over his crops and he got very little compensation for it. This incident is mentioned by John Junior in his memoirs published in the Blackmore Area Local History site online where he gives account of his life and war experiences. It shows photos of the family and the crash site with broken trees.

Snails Hall Farm is where it crashed. The dead were laid in "black barn" Where the marker stands. As a kid the barn still stood. We said it was haunted.

The footage you mentioned with the house in the background was L33, not L32. Cater house museum on Billericay high street will give you all the info you need.

Awesome video mate, nice to see this incident covered and good footage to match. The burial site is a gem of a find, sad to see it overgrown but nothing that couldn't be easily fixed

I may have to speak to the vicar and see if he will let me fix it up

@@TheUrbexTheory I hope they allow you to, the fact that's it was allowed to become so overgrown is a travesty.
Kaiserliche Marine Kapitänleutnant Werner Peterson, Commander of the L-32, is my Great Great Grandfather - his body, along with those of his crew, were reinterred at Cannock Chase German Military Cemetery in Staffordshire, England. - www.lostancestors.eu/memwar/memorials/C/Cannock/LZ32kl.jpg

Hi, loved the your video on the L32 I've only just started looking into this airship crash, I've got a strange story you might like to hear about the L32 it's about me my brother and a mate seeing a massive airship flying in the daytime in Essex but this was in 1976 ?

I live just round the corner to the Church and the Grave Yard has some interesting graves, even some from survivors of the great fire of London in the 16th century.
