I wish downtown LA had something similar to this. Nice views, and interesting bells. The boats were cool to see. I found it funny how in the last clip the traffic lights are green despite the bridge still opened. Also, it’s interesting how the bridge lights and bells keep ringing even after the gates have risen. Reminds me of the Heim Lift Bridge that used to exist in my area since the bells would also stay ringing for a bit after the gates rose.
Thanks Erik! These bridges hardly go up so when they do its a real treat. Lol yeah those traffic lights are for the walk signals only so unless the walk signal is giving peds the walk signal they'll stay green regardless of what's going on. The bells and lights went off after I've stopped recording as I had no idea how long they'll remain on. The next bridge over (not recorded) had mechanical issues that had half the bridge up while the other half was still down. There where guys trying to troubleshoot the part that's still down but since these bridges are hardly used anymore it's enough to cause these. Since I knew it was going to take a long time unlike the other bridges I decided to get something to eat before entering the waiting area to catch the train. You can imagine the traffic backup it caused lol.
All the times I've been to Chicago, I've never seen the drawbridge raise up. Thanks, Tman.
