Well done Payne , the stairs is a lot of work and calculations. My builders were unable to set up ours they had to get outside help so your doing a fantastic job .
yes, if they don't have the basics its very hard. In fact my step mothers house has stairs that have risers that are 12 inches and runners that are also 12 inches and since its a straight stairs and the downstairs was finished years before the upstairs nobody knew until she started to work on the second floor.
@@paynefuldiy she just avoids going upstairs. now we are in the process of installing stairs from the verandah to the upstairs patio that are as shallow as we can get them so 7/18 is what i think we are going with.

This is indeed the hardest part of the home building process. for somebody who is not a Builder, Contractor, Mason or a Carpenter.

the charges are usually by square foot and you have to determine what you work is worth
