Diesel pron George. Fantastic. I have a question; I'm hearing 'solid' gear changes but only a few - how does that work? Does the box have both normal gear wheel types of gears for that and something like plantetary 'auto box' type gears for the mid-shift gears??
If I have heared it right, this has to be the P-Tronic Transmission. It has 24/9-gears, which were split in 4 Groups and 6 powershift gears. I don't know much about this transmission, but I think both, the groups and the powershift-gears can be switched in automatic mode. The Groups were handled like a normal gears (with an automatic controlled clutch) and the powershift-gears are switched by serveral hydraulic controlled clutches.

Cheers for that. It's definitely several types of shift I'm hearing and that mostly explains it.
