  • In this video I give a detailed review with photos of the Cresta Identity Protect hard case. This is the same as the MAP Hardcase except for the relevant branding. I look at its capacity and compare to the Guru Fusion x-case I reviewed earlier this year.

    Good review Paul. I have had my one for about a year and a half. It houses my Midi 14.5 Meter Pole with 8 top kits on one side and my MAP 1001 Margin Pole with 8 top kits and Landing net handle on the other side. No issue except that one of the Zips wont close the case.Other one works OK. I have also brought the Cresta 150 Hard Case which holds 4 ready made up rods. 2 x Feeder. 1 x Bomb and 1 x Pellet Waggler. Spare Landing Net Handle, 4 x tubes for Quiver Tips and 2 x spare Reels. Again a great piece of useful luggage.

    Nice video Paul like the delivery style ,very calm and neutral.Point of note with the Guru is that it will fit inside traditional pole holdalls eg Guru Fusion XL pole.I also put a Drennan Kit case in as well as they have individual velcro slots for 10kits to sit separately with winders on.

      Thanks for the good feedback. I used to use the guru pole holdall with the x case and it was quite snug, sure it’s better in the xl. With the Cresta (plus Supera ready rod), no holdall needed for me.

    Hi Paul love all the reviews. Looking at this kit case. Do you think it would fit in a match holdall? I have all my poles in tubes at the moment and they fit in and in the other compartment I have my 2 feeder rod ready rod holdall.

    • @paulstacklereviews1695
      @paulstacklereviews1695  2 роки тому

      It would need to be a big holdall as it’s 190cm long which is generally longer than a tube. I wouldn’t chance it, there are lots of these (plus the MAP, Matrix) out there maybe keep and eye out for someone with one to try.

    Great review Paul I've got the map one very happy with it..have you done a review on your pole I'm thinking of buying maver signature Pro 821 one so would be interested in a pole review from you

      Thanks for the good feedback. I haven’t reviewed my pole as it’s not a current model. I’m changing my pole in the next couple of months (I tend to change every couple of years) and have narrowed it down to the 821 or Preston Superium x70. Both around the same price with the spares package I want. The 800 pro has been excellent. I’d like to try the 821 and x70 side by side, if you get the chance I’d like your feedback.

    Hi Paul, could you put a Brolly in one of these ? I'd love to replace my standard holdall if I could.

    • @paulstacklereviews1695
      @paulstacklereviews1695  Рік тому +1

      I think it would be difficult to put a brolly in. If I had a brolly I’d carry it in my ready rod holdall side pocket, appreciate you might want to just slim down to the Hardcase. There are several XL Hardcase out now (Preston, MAP, Matrix etc) and that could allow you to carry a brolly.

    Hi what is your opinion on having your rigs on your top kits,do you think the floats will get broken,thanks vic

    • @paulstacklereviews1695
      @paulstacklereviews1695  2 роки тому

      It’s something I regularly do but don’t do it all the time. I use the cresta pole protector between the 2 sections of my top kit (see my Perfect top kit set up video) so carry rigs not just on one piece kits. I have not had any problems, I don’t pack the top kit side of the cresta tight by carrying loads of kits I’m not going to use on a particular day. I think you need to use the Preston pole hook ups so you don’t lose tension on the rig in transit and tangle.

      @paulstacklereviews1695  2 роки тому

      I’m assuming you mean with nothing else in there, I’ll try tomorrow, my initial thoughts are yes if you top and tail, but they wouldn’t be fully secured and could move and cause damage.

      I tried 2 feeder rods, both 2 piece, one 10ft and one 11ft both with 4000 reels on (Cadence CS10 and Preston Magnitude) and it works really well. There isn’t a lot of spare space where the reels are, but they are not wedged tight. I’d be happy using it like that and actually think I might for a ‘rod session’. You would also be able to get a landing net handle in too.
