Third Grade Students Participate in Mock Trial

As the culminating event of their study on the legal system, third grade students participated in a mock trial at NSU Shepard Broad College of Law's practice courtroom, demonstrating all they learned throughout the unit as they played the roles of judge, jury, prosecution, and defense. To prepare for the trial, students met with the Honorable Jeffrey Kuntz, judge of the Fourth District Court of Appeal, and NSU law professors and students who discussed the structure of the judicial system and the basics of trials and courtrooms.
Students were so excited for the opportunity to engage in this hands-on experience, and we were so impressed by their legal knowledge and skills.
