Justice explained at the end of the film. God may choose the simple and the insignificant to reveal wonders or to do special works. Note the irony, a "pregnant" nun? She confesses she likes booze, and swears! She sees a vision of a cow standing in a field who vanishes before her eyes. Then 24 years later, Justice sees a burning bush; and that same sickly dying cow appears before him. The story suggests that Justice is the son of the nun. He was likely given-up for adoption. He's a special, but simple, man. The resentful priest at the end is angry that God chose a "simpleton" to reveal a miracle. He extinguished the flame in his wicked pride; but his phony holiness wasn't worthy of the miracle shown to a simple guy who believes. The powers of darkness do everything possible to deny or disprove God's existence. Thus the evil priest shows up!
This start in Ireland 1963. Than Texas 1989. I believe Justice was the son of the pregnant nun. In the bible Moses was “put” in the river and adopted by Pharaohs daughter. Through the Pharaoh's daughter (identified as Queen Bithia in the Midrash), the child was adopted as a foundling from the Nile river and grew up with the Egyptian royal family. After killing an Egyptian slave-master who was beating a Jew, Moses fled across the Red Sea to Midian, where he encountered the Angel of the Lord,[cow] speaking to him from within a burning bush on Mount Horeb, which he regarded as the Mountain of God.

She's not actually a nun -- she's being punished for having gotten pregnant out of wedlock. The Ulster Magdalene Asylum and Episcopal Chapel operated from 1839 until some time in the 1960s -- as an asylum for wayward women, generally women who were pregnant out of wedlock, women involved in prostitution and others convicted of petty crimes. The actual (forced labor) at the asylum was the operation of a steam laundry. Not cattle. I assume that the sense of impending doom she feels is that she will die in child birth -- and that the child is Justice. Or perhaps it has something to do with John F Kennedy, who visited Ireland in 1963... and was assassinated later that year. Justice first sees the cow through a glass darkly (1 Corinthians 13:12) and then face to face. And then Justice encounters a burning bush very much as Moses did in Exodus chapter 3. I find it amusing that the church extinguishes the burning bush, because of Proverbs 21:15 "When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers."
What those members of the church did in Ireland was horrible. But I lowkey feel like you singling the church out... Also, uhhh don’t do the deed out of wedlock.
Thank you Father for revealing to the poor and simple and not to the rich and the wise. Brilliant ending showing that God will not reveal to the prideful and learned priest but rather to the humble and meek gas attendant.
A lot of interesting takes on the meaning here. One thing I'll add is that the tag number on the cow is 333. Some believe that seeing this number means an angel is present and trying to give you a message..

This is one of the most touching short films I've seen on Omeleto. As the good Book says "For it is the meek that shall inherit the earth." 😲 Wow! I didn't know the sheriff is her real life husband and that's why she hasn't been any major movies recently. She was busy raising their two little children.
This was ...a riddle in a riddle. I love riddles. I got to the end and had no idea. I sat and stared. Watched again. Ok, here goes: My thinking is like others’ that Justice, 26-ish, is the nun’s son. The symbols are the law, the healers, the government, and the church. The miracles are the burning bush and somehow the disappearing, dying cow(s?). Perhaps the cows represent nature, disappearing, dying; perhaps in their combined disappearance and death are the evil, 666. The nun represents the honest, imperfect seeker of what is actually right and good; the seeker of God who also sees the bad that is to come. She acknowledges her flaws and asks for forgiveness. The priest, though, is absent. The priest - representative of the church - is supposed to be the way to God, but he/it is missing in action. Justice - aptly named - is simple, also honest, also seeking and open to the truth even in ugly ways. Perhaps he is also Holy Moses as some have stated - the unlikely messenger of deliverance. Justice. Justice bears the blood of the dead, the agony of the stressed and tormented. But Justice is not the killer. Justice sees the burning bush, which is representative of God, truth, whatever people might call it. Justice simply acknowledges it; the others - science, law, church, and government - try and fail to explain it, deny that it exists despite witnessing it themselves, and ultimately extinguish it. “Nothing to see here,” either because it can’t be explained or because people like Justice don’t deserve to experience it. But Justice understands what can’t be understood. Justice is the child of the seeker. They say seek truth, but beware those who say they have found it. I believe in God because I have learned that I need God, not because I am holy. I respect God because everything about life is a crazy paradox that science and government can’t explain. I love God because art like this can’t begin to imitate the life I’ve witnessed. I am the pregnant nun. The simple daydreamer. I deserve nothing and I have earned nothing. Moses didn’t want to be a leader, so God chose him to lead. We are nobody and God makes us somebody when we’re just here - like Stephen Covey said - to love, to serve, and to try again. Just my thoughts; I don’t intend to offend those who think differently. 💌
I think you understood and articulated very well. You gave a sound and valid interpretation which I am going to say I agree with pretty much to the letter. Kudos. @Alexis Williams
Alright people! Let's put our brains together! What does a nun from Ireland, a dead cow teleported to a gas station in Texas and a burning bush all how in common with this film?
The nun was pregnant, and the gas station attendant was her son. The burning bush appeared before Moses and God spoke to him, telling him that He would have him speak to the Hebrews about what to do. Moses was not only poor, but had a horrible stutter. But God often chooses the most unlikely people to work through. The cow could represent a number of things: one of the plagues God sent to the Eqyptians was death to cattle. Also, the cow may have been a sacrifice, as they used to do for God during the same time. The man in the car was the priest the mom was confessing to, who was sent through space and time during the confession. His part was representing corruption, greed, and power in the Catholic church, which are all evil. The point is that miracles are for every believer, and that God favors the poor, the weak, the humble. Thankfully, the son did NOT listen to the message of the priest. He knew what he saw, and he knew that God did that to show him his worth as His own child.
Woow. That was the nuns son. And the 🐄 went to warn or show him a sign. Hence why the priest came out of nowhere. They knew the boy was sent. Amazing story.
I don't know if anyone noticed, but the T-shirt he was wearing had Arabic writing on the back with some Arab countries flags and on the front it says "OPERATION DESERT STORM" which was part of the Gulf war which started late 1990 and the Chevys at the end there's no way they're from that year "1989". anyways, great work from Omeleto, been binge watching your short movies and I cannot stop.
Interpreting this is meant to be simple. Every unexplainable event in this was a miracle. (1) A pregnant nun, (2) A disappearing cow, (3) a burning bush, which in biblical narrative the burning bush is the location where God appointed appointed Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt.... SO a son of a sinning nun, who some would describe as being VERY simpleminded was the first to witness the burning bush and this occurred only once in history - biblical history. Justice is a very special man and as we can see he is a believer of miracles
@@zrlmua9525 I'm from the USA, I hear a faint accent. Perhaps it is inconsistent. But, when she does the preamble to confession thingie, it's there in every syllable. Especially the "th"="t" in "three", but, it could certainly be an actress making an accent.
Sliced Beans I think that was her boy. She was breathing in that snowy pasture like she was beginning labor. From what I understand Ireland won't approve adoption out of their own country and he's clearly in America. It's like a biblical thriller trailer
He is Moses, and God sent him a message from his mother to confirm that. His mother was a nun who had a child, so she probably gave him to a family secretly. That's why he's in America, the burning bush represents the call from god to lead the Israelites to freedom, but in this case I think it refers to leading all people to freedom from the patriarchy.
"[...]The burning bush is the location at which Moses was appointed by Yahweh (God) to lead the Israelites out of Egypt and into Canaan." Exodus 3:1-4:17 "Angel number 333 is reserved for special messages from your guardian angel in response to your prayers." "And the LORD did that thing on the morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt died: but of the cattle of the children of Israel died not one." Exodus 9:6 "God would speak to Moses face to face, like someone would speak to his friend. Then he would return to the camp. But his attendant, Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, would not leave the tent. Joshua never moved from the tent."& "Joshua was appointed as Moses' successor." ...and if Justice is the English version of a name Joshua, that would be neat.

Two actors from the show Life in Pieces. In ancient folk lore the cow was believed to hold the souls of humans waiting to be born. And in the same folk lore, goats were believed to hold the spirit of evil, thus when people sacrificed goats it was to release the evil spirt dwelling within them.
Just.. simply beautiful ! There could be different meanings and intrpretions based on each person and his believe , as a Muslim the story of the cow "and it's the second chapter and the longest one in our Qur'an" (and it was described as bright yellow cow in the holy Quran) belongs to the prophet Moses peace be upon him story , and the fire was the first thing he saw with his family when they were looking for a place and that's when God almighty spoke directly to him without even sending angel Gabriel , but God chose Moses and that's why his ppl are called شعبُ اللّه المختار God's chosen people . But did that scene with the priest was to refer to that time when the holy prophet was slightly arrogant with a disabled believer(blind) {عبس وتولى عندما جاءه الاعمى} ? Idk , and the 333 maybe Christians can understand it , it might mean a verse in the holy Bible or the holy Torah , God knows ✨

Such an unusual film. Full of questions. In light of the abusuve Irish Catholic Church scandals against pregnant women, brilliant.
And children. I don't think the Catholic church could ever recover from its cover up of the sexual abuse of young children.
Immaculate conception . . . and all the wonders of miracle . . . like the burning bush . . . God is revealed in mysterious ways . . .
Once Again Truth in a movie.
Thank You.
This is like her version of “First Reformed” which is weirdly enough she was in it.
Good connection. It would fit well with First Reformed.
That movie also had Philip Ettinger in it, as in this. Must be related.
See, everyone says that 'Justice' is the baby, but what if he's 'Holy Moses'?
The pregnant woman's son was taken from her. Moses was not raised by his own mother.
Absolutely wonderful.
1989......pulls up in a 2000s truck
All the other vehicles too
I'd like to see the full story, great short !!
Two words: holy cow.
The doc and the sheriff are from "Life in Pieces". Well played.
When I read the word "momma" ,my cowboy accent would suddenly come out
Nice a 2012 Chevy Tahoe in a film set in 1989 😂
That's one lucky charms level of Irish accent. Also, as a person from Northern Ireland, we have a very different accent.
Being from Northern Ireland also, I was just about to write the same thing! Her Southern Irish accent is alright, but it’s not Northern Irish.
I'm from Waterford, I'd say her southern Irish accent is better than some I've heard
I loved this one.
I want more!👏👏👏
That was amazing.
I want a whole film this is great.
This was fantastic
Holy cow that was crazier than a burnin bush in West Texas.
So many high profile actors.
Too cool! This had a little bit of everything including a dinosaur...teehee
that fire CGI tho
yeah...i know....i know.
Wouldn't like to have the souls of the men who extinguished that miracle.
The cow has an EU ear tag. They were not introduced until January 1, 1998. The cow "left" Ireland in 1963.
Hey Sheriff... Yes Justice...
Two actors from the show Life in Pieces. In ancient folk lore the cow was believed to hold the souls of humans waiting to be born. And in the same folk lore, goats were believed to hold the spirit of evil, thus when people sacrificed goats it was to release the evil spirt dwelling within them.
This short film has drawn beautiful outlines but left the drawings right where it started.
No one ever gonna mention about where was that sherif's police trucks been??
Omg lol I love the preacher
ELIE POWERS has some storytelling POWERS
Took 8 minutes but I see where this is going.
It is good....I liked it .Thanks
Not done with it but I really like the narration, and colors/vibe. Nice job!
This story could be a bug film if you extend it, i liked it 👍
Just.. simply beautiful !
There could be different meanings and intrpretions based on each person and his believe ,
as a Muslim the story of the cow "and it's the second chapter and the longest one in our Qur'an" (and it was described as bright yellow cow in the holy Quran) belongs to the prophet Moses peace be upon him story , and the fire was the first thing he saw with his family when they were looking for a place and that's when God almighty spoke directly to him without even sending angel Gabriel , but God chose Moses and that's why his ppl are called شعبُ اللّه المختار God's chosen people .
The film is not made by a Muslim why are you trying to put an Islamic spin on at .....
@@arshadsyed6628
I'm not adding anything 💫, it's just my way of interpreting/seeing it
The story is in nearly every religious book every religion has there own story on this just respect one another if you don’t like someone’s comment then don’t comment scroll down and move on it doesn’t matter what religion we are in every religious book is to love and respect everyone for whatever faith they are and guide them on the right path to god there is only one god but in different religions he has a different name please just respect one anothers faith there is bad in every religion and you can’t judge everyone on a small minority of bad people who try to spread evil through the world 🌍 if we can’t get along and respect each other’s religious views then our children my two children they don’t stand a chance in the toxic world
@@arshadsyed6628 well, Islam, Christianism and Judaism are the three abrahamic religions, so they share prophets, myths and symbols more than someone can think of. There is nothing wrong with the interesting and respectful contribute of this person. I really appreciate it✨
Thank you 😊
Did anyone even ask the bush if it was God or not? "Hey bush it's me Justice. Are you God?"
The sheriff (thomas sadoski) is mary(amanda seyfried)s real life husband
simply perfect
