He makes such a good point. No one is looking for the truth. Their moms and church tell them this thing, they look up some verses on google and say I know everything I need. They don’t look for the truth. To look for the truth is to never stop. Stopping means you stop learning the truth.
Brother, all this is falsehood. People now look for evidences and not what Church teaches them. Faith is evidence based. And evidences point to Resurrection of 'Jesus of Nazareth'.

It is my understanding that there are many gnostic gospels that report many things that are different from the common gospels, this sounds like just another one. The authenticity of anything from the 5th century is always in question as any archaeologist would know and should expect. Peer review is essential.
The gospels in the Bible are written down the line by people who weren’t witnesses but people who heard the stories. Paul is credited for some books but half of those are written by someone else.

@@marshalldarcy7423 : You’re correct. “Gospel” means “good news,” but is most commonly associated with the messages of Jesus. As far as the history of the four canonical documents, the earliest versions we have of them are early Middle Age copies of older documents which are now lost. The oldest gospel copies that have proven the authenticity of the writing (no significant changes or whatever) have been found on various body wrappings from that time period in fragments. This happened because the scroll parchments were used as burial wrappings. You’re also correct in questioning many of the alternative gospels outside of the canon because there were a lot of Gnostic gospels and other false writings presented as from an original Apostle in circulation as early as the 150s AD I believe.
Some of the stories from the infancy gospel of Thomas made it into the Quran. Like the story of the child Jesus fashioning sparrows out of clay and bringing them to life by making them fly away. The key will be if we ever manage to find the elusive "Q" source gospel which predates Mark by at least a few years
Gnostic gospels have been around in the 1st and 2nd century. The early church leaders that had more power, money, and influence are the ones that "won out" and comprised the bible we have today. They were no different than the Pharisees and Sadducees of the time of Christ
I went on Simcha’s Israel trek 2016 to ancient Israel archeology sites.it was amazing. We went to ancient cities, smelled the ash of the Romans’ fire, walked through an underground necropolis, hiked to Abraham’s gate . We went to ancient Christian sites as well, which was interesting as a I’m Jew and know as little about Christians as they know about us. He finds the archeology behind the Old Testament stories and it’s all there from exodus and beyond. I hope he does another trek! Love you Simcha!

I do feel an obvious bias from him though. He should be using academic principles, maybe he does ?, but when he presents what he perceives as Historical fact, he rarely speaks about alternative opinions. I enjoy his content though, albiet I don't always agree with it. Nevertheless he has every right to present it.

The existence of competing texts SUPPORTS the Bible. The Bible itself continually warns us against fakes. It does not surprise those who have really read and studied the Bible when other "gospels" and spurious documents are found.
Most of the extra-Biblical texts are dismissed not only for contradicting the Bible, but for being too LATE to be historical.
Skeptical "experts" try to surprise us by "revealing" non-canonical texts. Knowledgeable believers already know they exist; while the uneducated and unbelievers think it's a major revelation supporting their decision to neither read the Bible nor believe it.
I can't stop watching Simcha's documentaries. Really good stuff.

Did I miss something? Did they tell WHERE this manuscript was found? They did say it was written only in monasteries and only in Syriac. But where did it come from?

Simcha Jacobvi, all of Afghanistan and those Kashmiris who live on the border of Afghanistan call themselves 'Bani Israel,' which means 'Children of Israel.' And they also say they are the lost tribe of Israel who converted to Islam. There are graves in Kashmir facing east to west which was a jewish custom,despite the fact they were muslims. Many years ago the Kashmiris did not do any work on Saturdays' saying it was their rest day. Only awhile ago i found this video and Iagree with everthing you said Keep up the good work.

"scholars discover" Gnosticism.
It's actually a very old and well documented movement that a quarter of the New Testament was aimed at refuting; not to mention very early apologists.
That's why there's a general shrug from the established Church.

No it was not very well document .. various books were found in Nag Hammadi but only came to the light of day several decades later.
Prior to that they’re were deemed heretical by Irenaeus and thus dangerous to possess especially during the time of Constantine.. I am sure You would know what the church did to folks who were deemed to be heretics..

The bride mentioned about the end of the Book of the Apocalypse is an allegorical reference. At any rate, it means that Jesus is the medium by which man is to be reconciled fully back to his Divine state (whc was lost by his fall) in the Father's kingdom whc rulership is handed over to His Firstborn - the Christ; it is not a marriage similar in the secular context, though I do not advocate nor refute if Jesus ever did espouse a woman in His sojourn on earth as some "Gnostic" elements sound with sense. After all, there's absolutely nothing wrong if Jesus as a man got espoused with any particular woman. The evasive truth could only be attained to with an objective approach, and any preconception (prejudice) could only frustrate it: material account doesn't matter much in mystical spirituality which is subject to contemplation with Scriptural information taken into consideration which itself again is subject to verification considering how it could possibly be confounded unintentionally or otherwise.
All your information (see my post) is based on Pauline Christianity based on 2nd hand info, Paul never knew Jesus so why did the clerics of the early church take only those books supporting their power base & throw out all the ones which were accurate yet threatened them so they were never used...and Christians claim their "Holy Bible" a divinely inspired book & infallible, makes ya wonder who's zoomin' whom?

2. A hint to this accent is the name Lazarus which is equivalent to Elezar
3. It appears that Galileans didn’t pronounce “e” and/or substituted “a”
4. Jesus gave his Disciples nicknames
5. What if Magdalene is a nickname - remove the vowels MGDLN
6. Substitute back in “e” = Megedelene
7. Meged-El-ene = “Precious Person of God” as the nickname

What about the Gospel. of Thomas, where Jesus said you could meet God directly, didn´t need the priesthood, led to the Gnostics, who were then genocided by the Church? Why Not? Why should it be hard to believe, anyway, that the Church censored the Bible? What was/is the Church except the greatest cult ever formed by humans?

There were several Gnostic Gospels written in Syriac. In fact, several of them made there way into the Quran. These are fables, which were made up well after the first century by people who were Hollywoodizing popular stories and not documenting historical events. It would be like taking tales like The Hobbit or Harry Potter and trying to read history into them. When you read the New Testament gospels, you get the sense that they are describing real people and actual events. Nobody believes that Jesus, when he was a kid, killed other kids for laughing at him but the Infancy Gospel of Thomas writes about it (and the story made its way into the Quran). Nobody believes the Gnostic Gospels except those who refuse to believe in the actual risen Savior.
I'm not sure if I would include the gospel of Mary Magdalene in that. It seems more in line with the gospel of Luke than many would like to admit.

There is a book that speaks of a relationship between Mary and Jesus. There is a documentary that stated that Jesus' much loved disciple John was rewritten and was actually Mary Magdalene.

I started watching Simchas "Naked Arceology" years ago ,he has a way of bringing people together ,I think it is because he uses the Bible as his map ,I have read the New Testament but learned some neat things here on youtube and Thanks Simcha for teaching a Christian more possibilitys ,I hope to find Jesus soon too

We must consider the fact that the legalization of [secular] Christianity (as distinct from the absolute or genuine started by its Great Founder a little less than 300 years earlier, and how human agenda at any rate could have corrupted it over these years) was comparable to a game of chess where the players had to outwit the opponent to get the advantage, especially in the opening phase for a lasting effect. But unlike chess, the issue is really critical as absolute truth - the prime element concerning the issue - is in a compromised situation, if not lost to oblivion to the disadvantage of the adherents or the faithful as Faith is a [critical] matter of faith; like a court case where the guilty defendant is rich & powerful (of course, the temporal "Church" was & still is inarguably) as to be able to get away scot-free with his crimes. It is even probable (as pointed out by research scholars on the issue) that the emperor Constantine had a political agenda in legalizing Christianity as to use it to restore order back for it was troubled by the gradually overwhelming Faith over his pagan state, and not at all for what Christianity really is - for how can this pagan emperor comprehend Divine spirituality or mysticism when his soul & conscience was yet devoid of the [inspiring] Holy Ghost which he was yet to receive upon his death (remember how Christ said to Peter in the gospel according to Matthew when he was about to be ordained for the care of the Divine ministry, "... flesh and blood revealed not this thing unto thee, but by the Father in heaven" from Whom the Holy Ghost ultimately proceed).

You know... I find it interesting that Simcha says he "doesn't want to offend anyone" but there is a clear difference in how he approaches Jewish and Christian history. In his shows he tends to accept Jewish orthodoxy and in his archeology he supports that Jewish orthodoxy. However, when it comes to Christianity he usually takes a skeptical or non-orthodox stance most of the time. It's almost like he has a copy of the Babylonian Talmud right next to him when he tries to dive into early Christian history. It's a pretty clear pattern and I really wish Simcha was more transparent about the bias before he claims that he "doesn't want to offend anyone."

Thank you for this little morsel. I have been looking for more on the story of Joseph and Aseneth for awhile and I guess You Tube logo rhythms matched my comments up with this story. From what I’ve read, Joseph’s story was to show Gods divine purpose, and to never lose faith. In the story I know Aseneth, worshipped “Neith”, a Babylonian Goddess. Aseneth knew all kinds of things she shouldn’t have known she was from Helios I thought and Joseph thought she was disgusting because she cast spells and worshipped false Gods. He called her “filthy” even though she was royalty. When she meets Joseph she is instantly remorseful and ashamed because she actually sees a halo around him and realizes that he is one of God’s chosen ones. Any way the story goes on and on but takes a weird turn, this story is not in the Bible. The only thing the Bible says is that one of their sons is Manesseh, who worshipped false Gods too, and sacrificed one of his own sons to a demon for power almost caused his city to be destroyed. So this connection to Jesus is very confusing. I’m not buying it. Need way more information...I just cross referenced Manasseh, snd found that his father was Hezzekiah, so I’m not sure, I was trying to match lineages and correlate s time line with the book of kings but the time line seems to be conflicting, everywhere.
I too have been trying to piece together the timeline of Jesus, son of Joseph and Mary as well as the other two Jesus with their own stories that are similar but much earlier. And the gospel of St. Thomas.

You need to search for the truth and not believe everything you are given. Most big events in the bible are copies of previous events with a twist to fit their narrative. This so called Gospel Mr Jacobovici found is a GNOSTIC GOSPEL. The Gnostic Christians believe that Jesus had a wife, and he was God and the Lord in the flesh. Gnostic Christians also believe that the flesh was could be co equal with the Spirit if you will find the harmony between them. This leads to have different knowledge of the resurrection way different than what the Bible teaches.

We were warned against it and other false gospels many times. So, Christians who know the Bible are not likely to be shaken when these alternate writings appear.
